Try this app. I've heard that this works, but I haven't tried it out myself.

Same luck here. Running 3.05.651.6. Emailed the dev a bunch, and never got it working, disabled tether guard apk too.

Enable WIFI Tethering on AT&T

HI,
what do I need to enable WIFI tehter on AT&T without subscription? Is unlock/root enough or do I need a completely different ROM?
Stephan
Root will do

Yah can't wait for root this is prob the most useful reason to root in my book. What is everyone's fav free wifi tethering app?
Barnacle is old school, but works well, I usually just use the local built in protocol and just remove the check in

Just checked the links and they seem to be fine. Search "WiFi Tether for Root Users" in the Play Store.

I think it depends on what version you have. I have the sprint version (LS995) and was able to root using IOroot25 on kitkat.

Yes, you can unroot by deleting the Superuser.apk and busybox.apk (If installed) from the /system/app folder and also the su binary from /system/xbin on your phone.

nvm got debloater to work. had to reset phone
Does anyone know what the Sprint Update File changes - anything we would notice? Or is it just limited to behind-the-scenes changes that you can't even tell what they are so no reason to bother (while holding out for root)?
