Dear Community, first of all i want to apologize for my englisch, im from germany.
I have a problem with my HTC cuz im not able to use it anymore. First of all i maybe try to tell u what i have done so far maybe u will find a solution or problem.
First of all i unlocked my bootloader with htc.dev , installed cwm and Android Revolution HD 31.6. After that i gained s-off with the firewater method . All of it was successful.
Like u guess i didnt make an Backup
When i used Arhd i noticed that i didnt seem to stable and i changed the version to 71.1 also for Sense 6.0 . I installed it with cwm and aroma installer i guess and he said that everything was fine and done .
My problem starts at this point cuz when he rebooted the device he stopped at the htc logo and that is the end of the story. Until now nothing else happened , i also retried the installation but with the same result.
After that i read i could go back to a working device when i flash it with stock recovery and rom , I also found a method that worked on several devices in germany .
The author proposed to use a 2.24.161.1 firmware to update the phone and then to flash a stock recovery from the same swisscom device , I followed the instructions but at one point he tells me i should use adb push to move the stock recovery (about 1 GB ) to the backup folder of CWM and then restore the backup the restore my phone.
When i do adb push it says that has been successful but im not able to recover the recovery or to choose the file from sd card when i move it to /sdcard cuz : file not found.
Im really scared that my device is bricked even when it worked before with arhd 31.6 and only the flash to 71.1 make the problems.
i would be really thankful when some of u pro or even of with the solution could help me .
Greeting Seiken

ARHD 71.1 requires TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery or newer. You can get the latest version TWRP 2.7.1.2 here. Flash this bootloader and then re-install 71.1.

Go here, scroll down to nandroid backups, and find yours. There are two, one unbranded, one for Optus. Since you're running cwm, you can flash these backups and they should return you to stock.

I used CWM to sideload another rom, and now Im back on GE rom again.
and I download the Nandroid backup and copy into my internal memory, loaded into CWM then went into back n restore option, but just cannot find the find the zip file so cannot do the restore back to stock at the stage? so was wondering any particular folder I need to place the zip file so the CWM can regonise?
thanks.
I've had my HTC one for a little over half a year and I have been running cynogenmod 10.1 on it with no problems until I decided to update it to 10.2.1. when i had finished doing that I started having problems with it running and the just randomly rebooting frequently so I went back into my recovery (twrp 2.5.0.0) and went to recover into my nandriod backup. After I wiped the phone and used the backup i restarted it and now my phone just sits on the HTC One loading screen.
I can still enter into the recovery and bootloader (1.44 s-on), adb does find it in its device list when its connected to the computer. also when I go to restart the recovery I get a message saying "your device appears to not be rooted install supersu now? This will root your device". It doesn't do anything when i do say install or not to install it and just restarts the device. I did have it rooted before so I'm not sure if the recovering of the old phones image removed the root?
Not quite sure what I may have done wrong as I'm still fairly new to rooting and all but I'm unsure as to where to go from here. I've been digging through threads on the HTC one forum and I feel like I may be over thinking what i need to do. I couldn't really find a direct answer and i don't want to accidentally make it worse.
so here i am any help would be appreciated.

Maybe. Did you backed-up every partition (boot, system and data)?
You could try to restore you back-up with the latest twrp, it might also help to clear cache.

Its most likely that the old recovery is the issue. 2.7.0.0 has been released and why not CM11, which is in its snapshot stage?? And, your HBOOT and firmware are also extremely outdated. 1.44 was the HBOOT at launch. 1.56 is the latest
It took awhile but everything is working again. I guess my backup was corrupt or something because it still didnt work after i flashed the recovery to a newer version.
Hey everyone,
I need some help, a while ago I attempted to install a custom ROM for my HTC One m7. Anyway I never actually installed the custom rom so I still have my carriers version or rom still installed (Optus australia) which is the good news! The bad news is I still have TWRP recovery installed instead of the stock recovery. Now my problem is I want to install the latest update from my carrier but it keeps going into TWRP when the phone restarts to install the update. Is there away to remove TWRP and install stock recovery that comes with the phone? If so do I have to install RUU file? The problem is I cant find the RUU file for optus australia anywhere, except the nandroid file, but i think ill have problems with the touch screen if use that? So Is there a way to install stock recovery without using ruu, rom or nandroid file?
Thanks!
This might help

Hey thanks for the link. That was help full. But iv got another problem I installed the stock recovery for htc one and everything seemed ok except when i went to install the latest update from my carrier (optus AU) the phone restarted it went in to update mode and got about half way and then i got error it was a red triangle with the explanation mark.
I then hit the power button and volume up to get into its loader screen (not really sure what its called) and I restored the phone to factory settings and then rebooted the phone. I then download the update again and restarted the phone to get the red triangle and explanation mark again.
I did notice when I got into the bootloader that my device is still TAMPERED ,***UNLOCKED** and the s-on is active. Could any of these be the reason why its not installing the latest update? sorry im pretty bad at this!
My HTC One is currently unlocked at hboot 1.61, S-On, with ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.6 installed. no carriers
I have a backup of the stock rom before I install any roms, and I have install SU to my device afterwards.
I was intended to install Insertcoin 7.1.3 rom, I did a factory reset/wipe caches and then install the rom via clockworkmod.
However, my device does not boot into the custom but reboot will automatically 'entering in recovery' instead,
perhaps that was to do with the S-On, or it's a failed rom I got?
Anyway, I tried to restore the stock rom backup I did, it said restore completed but it reboot into recovery still...
Now I can only able to access fastboot and recovery, I tried download and put in the by using "mounts and storage" -> "mount USB storage" on ClockworkMod, but it won't let me as it does not appear on my Windows 10 as it usually should.
Can anyone help me to solve this mystery? Ideally, I would like to get back to stock rom at least...
I only had experience on rooting from my Desire HD(retired), there's a sdcard to storage roms back then...
What I've got now is:
- a backup from clockworkmod, and I didn't copy to my PC
- a stock rom and kernel, I downloaded from internet and HTC webpage.
- a InsertCoin rom for m7
I have did some research on similar issue previously, but doesn't seems to help me out. if anyone knows the same issue has been addressed and solved in some posts, please don't hesitate to feed me with those posts, as I could have missed them by struggling on reading foreign language for the entire evening...
lastly, if i did anything idiotic through that process, please don't judge my stupidity

Change your recovery to TWRP and flash away. If you read Insercoin thread, you would see that TWRP is recomended recovery. And that means you will loose your backup

Thanks for the reply, the backup is what holds me back from doing anything risky unless someone suggest me to do so, but I did risk of losing the backup and flashed TWRP. I have now successfully install InsertCoin rom, the sacrifice of the backup is well worthy. Well, at least my device can work properly, not much to lose. Doesn't seems like a big issue after all.
I also found out the problem was cause by the clockworkmod recovery. If I flashed TWRP in the first place, I could have kept a backup for my stock rom.
Anyway, a BIG thanks for your help! :good:

You're dead right regarding recoveries! Now, all you need to do is make a backup of your ROM in TWRP for future mishaps and enjoy[emoji6]
And you're very welcome. I'm glad I could be of help
