Hello,
How do I get OTA updates back on my N1 after rooting/unlocking and using a custom rom. What rom do I need to use to get OTA back?
Thanks
I too would like to know this.
You can't. You need stock recovery.
The only thing I have to do is flash stock recovery?
Is it even worth it
Why do you need OTA when the devs have given you the ability to update via .zip files?
You can easily go back to stock recovery using ROM Manager in the market.
Hi,
I rooted my HTC one phone and flashed new firmware on it but quite foolishly didn't make a back up of my stock rom. My original CID is ORANG001 so the only way to get back to stock it seems is to find a nandroid backup or an RUU of this firmware, is that right? Before I flashed a custom rom I had sense 5.5 and android 4.3. Was wondering if anyone had or knew where I could get a back up of this particular stock firmware? I have found a couple of sites but the links are not working. Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can go back to stock firmware and get OTA updates

Not quite hard to do
But I wanna ask you 1 question- Why do you want to return to stock? Returning to stock is just a limited version of a Sense-based custom ROM.
Why don't you flash a Sense-based custom ROM, which is almost identical to Stock? For example ARHD 52.0
I don't want to return to stock now as I'm enjoying custom roms on my phone. I just want to ability to return to stock for potential warranty issues or if I would like to receive OTA updates from my carrier. I think the software version i need is 2.24.61.1

Question I want to root my gpe edition htc one. But i want to keep stock recovery for future updates from Google. Is it possible to put TWRP then root then switch back to stock recovery and keep root and still have the ability to get future updates from Google? And if so how do i revert back to stock recovery
Good evening, just want to clarify, if my Phone was rooted am i able to get ota updates?
Yes, of course. As soon as you get one offered you need to flash the stock recovery and then you can start.
I rooted all the way back on 4.2.2 1.11.707.1 and I have cwm now. All the old stock recovery links I could find are dead and the custom roms all seem to require updated stock to be able to flash them. How would I go about updating by ota?
