Many of you have got Galaxy Note for more than 1 month.Request all the Note users to update your reviews on the phone.Does it has any issues now and what all the solutions for those issues.
Thanks
Everything is great. Battery, screen, speed, stability, call quality, build, camera, speaker, s-pen, etc. What else do you want to know?
Does it overheats like the S2?Is there any lag?

No and no for me.
I really love this phone. Note is the best smartphone I ever use, the second best of mobile phone I ever use.
fast, massive screen, great resolution, nice camera quality, relatively good battery life against other android devices, s-pen is more than awesome.
OK we all know the goodies , let talk about some based.
1. Battery still can be much better but it's not notes fault. It's due to the limitation of current techology.
2. Samsung firmware could be better, now it's laggy and I am sure they are working their way. For now you can use custom rom to solve it. Checkrom is one of the best now.
3. The volume rocker and power button can place on a better place which you won't accidently trigger them.
4. If the battery allows. Still prefer rgb over pentile but it's not a big issue

Is Note pocketable?
After using 2 months am worried about the color issues. The Black is not Black .... and i can see some dark black patches(Only in Black Color) on screen in night.

Yes, it gets hot on top where to speaker is while using GPS, charging and using at same time, and when play games

Yes, even with skinny Jeans, it will go in but I'm afraid it breaks. But it's thin and feels thin.

It lags a lot noticeable through Samsung TouchWiz Launcher, or any other launchers.
I have more than one Android Tablets and 1 other Android phone, and it doesn't lags like the Note.
However, every others operations are smooth and quick.

I have an s2 that I can compare side to side with the GNote and compared to to the s2 there is some lag but it's fast enough.
If you choose to enable the power saving feature on the GNote it will lag even more.
There is also a delay in waking up the phone that the s2 does not have. That is quite irritating sometimes.
I have no overheating problems with mine.
I didn't read the thread but I will note a few of my findings.
I love the note and seems like its a complete smartphone for my needs. The screen is great and with rocket rom v17, its super fast and bug free.
Now the bad side of the note.
It gets extremely hot in gps mode when connected to lighter power source. Too hot to continue connected to car power. hardware damage could occur.
I took care of my note but it seems I am one of the unlucky ones to have damaged hardware on my phone. It seems the note also suffers from same symptoms as some sgs2 owners. after a month's usage my note began to act funny. I have had rocket rom v10 on it. I was very happy with the performance then all of the sudden, note started to get into car mode automatically and asking me to give verbal commands. some apps would open up or close automatically. then all of the sudden when i disconnected my note from power source it seemed the note didn't recognize the usb disconnection and continued thinking it was still connected to power cord. Then it would not respond to power button to turn on the note. I would have to connect my note to power source in order to have it turned on. I tried cleaning the usb port contacts, even pushed them down. it helped for a few minutes and gave me the impression the note was fixed but the problem would continue to pop up. Now I am unable to use my note as I can't get it out of charging mode. It is always in charging mode and drains the battery and acts funny. I am sure the usb port is damaged and my note has to be sent back for repairs. this is after just one month's usage.
oh yeah,. I have done all to fix the problem. I have changed the roms, even installed stock rom through odin, changed kernals and even discharged and recharged the phone a few times. All to no avail. I am totally bummed as I am sure my phone company will reject my phone and make up an excuse that it has internal water damage. I will try to restore my phone to original rom and sent it in for warranty repair.
Had a friend record a video and I produced it, just in case anyone is on the fence about upgrading or is trying to decide if the price jump is worth it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBDR-jqLTf8
Had the note 3 and sold it due to its proximity sensor not working. Wish I hadn't. Have the note 4 now and love it. To be honest the only real difference to me is the new build quality. Less plastic and more metal.
The note 3 seemed just as fast and great. I would have bought another note 3 but they were selling only 100 euros less than the note 4
Some it was better in note 3...note 4 is needed updates asap
I have all the Samsung Note.
The difference for me between a Note 3 and 4 is all speed and screen.
I'm so happy with the upgrade and I must say I didn't expect to be so impressed about the difference.
So satisfied, but battery is hopelessly bad .
Like Note 1 and 2 the battery drain is ridiculous.

No the sensor was not installed properly and since the device was rooted the knox was tripped. So warranty no go!
I always rushed in upgrading Samusng phones like I bought note 2 and note 3 brand new after few days of launch but not any more. I believe the price difference is not worth spending as of now so I am waiting for price to go down.
I got my upgrade yesterday from note 3 to note 4 and apart from the build quality and the camera there doesnt seem to be that much of a difference if im honest.
i use it for work and was a little disappointed that knox was not available on the 910f model yet, i also tried my knox but that doesn't work on this model at the moment either.
apart from that it's all good ☺
It's not a 'shut up and take my money'
It's like a 'go back to the labs'
note edge looks more attractive. if it has borders on 4 edges I would say 'shut up and take my money'
I'll hold my N3 for a while. the gap prices are short in my country.

I'm sure Samsung know that metal is less than ideal on a phone, it's a stupid fad.
Note 4 has sharp edges too. It also has that bevelled edge to the glass which is great if you run without a protector but terrible if you do I hated the 2 for that.
Definitely not moving from the 3 to a sharp edged phone, my 4 upgrade in January will most likely get sold immediately.

Really 910F doesn't support MyKnox app?
Is this temporary? Or F doesn't include any knox chips or whatever?
Still testing knox on my 910C and seems that it's pretty nice feature.

I'm so sorry for You but even if Knox was tripped You can ask for a repair in warranty if You live in Europe. I'm a consumer lawyer and for my clients I always get warranty service from Samsung even if they try to refuse the reparations.

My experience with the Note 4 is almost the opposite, apart from the screen. Battery life on my Note 4 is very good, at the end of the evening always between 30 and 40% left.
Speed of the device is a different story, stutters all over the place. Totally random, while switching launcher pages, scrolling through calendar or contacts (appr. 120 contacts) and other apps with "list view". My Note is 100% stock.
Not to forget, the fingerprintscanner is an annoying piece of hardware. Having my right thumb fingerprint registered 3 times I always have to swipe more than once/twice in order to unlock.
I'm absolutely not happy with the "update"!!

Well I would have done that, I live in Germany but it would have taken them quite a bit of time. I sold it for 500 euros and explained the issue to the buyer. I bought a nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 with that money. To my surprise the Nexus series do NOT accept USB OTG natively. I had to get Stickmount from Chainfire to use any additional storage. It really made me wish for my note 3 back even with the sensor issue.
When my wife got the s5, I immediately realized why I like Touchwhiz and its lag. It comes out of the box with a lot of features that other devices need root for..
Like USB OTG
Customized quick settings
All share, (no need for all cast)
Also its cameras are always better with its features.
Plus micro sd
Battery removal and last but not least, It comes with in my opinion the best screens. I love Super OMLED.

It sounds like you don't have the latest firmware.
I can't make my phone lag at all.
I can scroll as fast as I in contacts (988) pictures (764)
with out any lagging.
If you take a picture and press the photo on the left lower corner.
If it doesn't pop up instantly I guess your phone is on the same firmware as min was before I updated.
It was lagging in every way before update.

You're right, I don't have the latest firmware.
i got note4 cheap so upgrade was right to do.
in my opinion they polished everything that was not so good on note3 like edge, camera, adding fingerprint lock, front camera, fast charge and for me usb 2.0.
but if someone would ask me would you pay 50% more to get note 4 i would say no.
Biggest disadvantage on note 4 is that he does not have temperature and humidity sensor (((
Hey guys,
I have had this Verizon Note 4 for 2 months. It goes through a battery every 2 to 3 hrs.
I am having Verizon send me a replacement and am pissed. I never had this issue with my rooted note 3. This Note 4 is slower, lagging, he'll typing this with SwiftKey or the Samsung keyboard in Chrome is slow. If iI push the button it takes 1/4 second to enter.
Ram usage us 2gb / 2.7
Does anyone have any advice, or the best way to setup the replacement so its faster? I wanted the note 5, but with it not having a battery nor SD card that's a joke too.
I'm dreading having to reinstall my apps again without titanium. If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it.

You can't change the operating system on a retail Note 4. It's locked. You need to factory reset the phone you have. It seems to have a rogue app causing the problems. After you've reset it don't install all of your apps at once. Only install them when you actually plan to use them. That way when the bad one shows up you'll know which one it is. If setup wants to reinstall all of your apps during initial setup don't allow it.
Yeah that really sucks, I was hoping there was a work around that could make it as close to root as possible
They say you can debloat it. It could help with the battery life.
Forgive me members for I have sinned... It's been far too long since I popped a SIM in my OnePlus One
I've been using my iPhone 6+ exclusively for months now for a few reasons I'm hoping to have answered here by real-world users. I'm no stranger to Android, but I have fallen in a bad groove with iOS and just settling :/
I use the camera a lot. Not for anything super special, but I'm able to take FAST photos when I need it. Hit the button, and it's saved and done in under a second. Sharp, accurate... but tiny at 8mp on a 1080p screen. I've looked at samples of the Note 5 camera, and the quality is good, but how is the speed of the stock camera app? I don't want to have to wait 2-4 seconds before I can regain use of the camera again, nor have to wait 2 seconds for it to take a photo.
Is the built-in email worth using? I have gmail for my personal email, but my company is stuck on a 2003 exchange server and I'm forced to use a generic "email" client on phones I switch to. I need to be able to set priority on outgoing, and flag/star emails. (Everything else I need should be baked into any email client at this point... BCC, attachments, custom sig) Not a huge deal if it's not good... I can use CloudMagic if needed.
It's been a while since I even gave a Samsung phone a glance, but last time I did, screen-burning was a big issue... Is this still a problem anymore with the newer screens? I'm a fan of auto-brightness, but I input text a lot, and rarely change keyboards. I don't want to find out in a year that my screen has been burned beyond repair
Any help with these would be greatly appreciated. If I like what i'm hearing, I'll be going to T-Mobile this weekend to pick this up!
Thanks all
Hers is a camera speed and quality comparison between the 6s plus and the Note 5, I would say the camera is fast, probably not that fast as iphone but you will get better quality photos with the Note 5
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Apple-iPhone-6s-Plus-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-Note5_id4095/page/3
As for emails, you can use the built in email client or download any other from the play store that will do more than you want.
I'm not sure about the screen burning but my guess is that it was more of a concern with the unrealistic and inaccurate Amoled popping colors in the previous generations. The first thing I do is that I switch screen mode to basic as it provides accurate colors and I guess will reduce the probability of screen burning.
Hope it helps.

You'll be happy with a Note 5 honestly. In terms of the camera, I take rapid photos with mine all the time without issues. There's also a double tap home button function that takes maybe 1.5 seconds to pull the camera up and focus from any screen, even when the screen is turned off. My wife loves using my Note 5 for pictures over her LG G4.
Screen burn in hasn't been a thing for quite some time now. There is however, still the issue of shading that occurs on all AMOLED displays when on dark images, or scrolling a dark Web page. I think the Note 5 and S6 do the best to avoid that issue, but it does happen slightly. It's just not as visible.
Auto brightness is awesome on the Note 5 as well. There's an "over bright" function that kicks in automatically when the sun shines directly on the screen, or when you're in a very bright area (outside). It's awesome, and to me, can be a little overkill even in direct sunlight. Lol. It's a great feature though.
No SD like iPhone, but that's not an issue as we have cloud storage for dayz! Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox.....it goes on.

I appreciate the detailed reply! As you can see from my phones I currently have, I personally don't care about SD storage, and I haven't had a phone with a removable battery since the Galaxy Nexus so I've learned to deal. I checked out the link that @samitro provided, and the difference of 1.93 to 2.1 seconds is all the change I will be experiencing... So basically, it will be the same as far as I am used to

Depends... I'm jumping to T-Mobile when I get it, but I have a weird process when I root a phone.
Usually I will go 100% lock & stock UNTIL I find something that I just can't stand (bloat, battery, audio) but if I do root, I look for a stock ROM (or just keep the stock one) and modify it on the phone to remedy the issues I find. I haven't owned a Samsung since the Galaxy Nexus (not really a Samsung phone) and what I am reading about KNOX kinda scares me lol. T-Mobile doesn't really have too much junk on their carrier phones, but it is still there, and it still bugs me. I'm kinda worried about battery life, but I have read a lot here about how to save it sans root access.

I like your system. That's the one I use personally as well. I will say that the one thing that will be annoying really quickly is the T-Mobile system app/process adapt.app. It's what they use to root checking or any kind of custom modification of the device. Even when you're not modified though, it'll sit there and pull root access and constantly scan your device, sucking up battery. It's more invasive now on the newest LP build, and on the MM beta that was leaked.
Don't worry about battery on the Note 5. It is surprisingly really good what they were able to pull off on only 3000mAh. You can pretty much freeze most bloat even without root. There's also a thread here for debloating without root using a script that goes undetected.
As far as knox is concerned. Don't root if you plan on using Samsung Pay. Once you modify the kernel, or root the device, the efuse is blown and your knox counter will forever be tripped. Even though you can go back to pure stock, knox will still be tripped and Samsung Pay will never work. There is NO work around.
I love the Note 5. I was skeptical about it because I had a Note 4, but I am glad I got it. It is an upgrade for me over the Note 4. I'll say the one thing I don't like about the Note 5, is that it's not very hand friendly at night when you're on the phone laying in bed, lol.
Awesome camera, fast, no lag... But, full of bloat, unknown battery drain, less settings about some properties!
worth to upgrade?
From Note 2 - No
From Note 3 - Buy a note 2!
From note 4 - Wait for note 6!
From iphone- At least i can flash custom rom and kernel! but it is not an upgrade huh??!

Yeah, Marshmallow is nice. I got the OTA from Google for my Nexus 5 and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully Samsung will be open to using a lot of the features already present instead of baking them out.
About 5 days ago my phone gained these charming traits...
Random lag, 10-45 seconds of completely unresponsiveness that always hits within 5 minutes of using it
Random reboots, sometimes after the lag sometimes just a reboot
Sometimes it restarts automatically, sometimes it just dies
Loses wifi, then lags, but wifi won't connect until I reboot
The lag always hits when I get a large number of texts at once or try to type a lot
I've tried...
Streaming music, does fine until I try to use the interface
Removing the sd, no improvement
Factory reset, no improvement
Odin to stock, no improvement
Yelling at it, no improvement but slightly cathartic
Switching to stock batteries from ankers, no improvement
Switching off swiftkey, no improvement
About my phone
Stock marshmallow, used to be rooted but that was back in kitkat days
Ran flawlessly for 22 months
No recent drops or tumbles
Well tested, I spend 20 hours plus a week on the phone with over ten thousand texts a month for work. Never had anything like this, even on lollipop
I have a note 7 on preorder but I'm disappointed in the direction the note line went and would much rather get another year out of this awesome phone or at least wait for the v20/nexus options. Any ideas awesome guru folk?

Maybe all the Note 4s are going out. I literally had the same issue occur on since Friday. Had to use a wakelock just to keep it from freezing and bootlooping.

Same issue here. What did you use to set up a wakelock?
