Hi, every time I try removing apps via gear manager an error stating "Unfortunately, Gear Manager has stopped" I don't even get as far as selecting which ones to delete. I can literally click my apps, click the Bin symbol and it crashes and restarts gear manager
Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it

Same problem here. Everything was fine until I ran the root gear 2. Was still able to get into 'My Apps' until I rebooted my phone (note 3, effortless custom ROM).
So far, I have uninstalled, reinstalled gear manager, re-paired gear 2 bluetooth, factory reset g2, etc.
Still no access. Still looking into it. Let me know if you figure something out..

No problem, sorry to hear you're having the same problem, mine occurred after putting a custom ROM on my phone, but then reverting back to stock, ever since, the only solution so far is to look to see if some of them can be removed under Application Manager which some can, but still leaves a lot of unused apps on my gear 2, which eventually will just fill up. Do you know if there's a way of looking through the files of the watch and simply deleting the .apk file and any other files that may be used? Thanks

Reset what?
If you mean the actually reset the watch and phone then that doesn't work
If you mean factory reset then that may be the answer and thank you if it does work
However it would be nice to know the actual reason in the first place why this happened and not just a work around

Hi:
I have installed the JH7 update found here on xda. My phone is rooted with sideloading enabled. I will be honest, I have a ton of apps on my phone.
I have had SO many problems since the update. I had to re-install the update 3 times, because after HOURS of trying to enable sideloading it still wouldn't work. After the third install I was finally able to enable sideloading.
Now, my problem is, some apps are crashing as soon as I open them. The 2 biggest culprits are e-mail, and Shop Saavy. I click to open them, they open for between 1-5 seconds, then close.
Any thoughts? I am desperately trying to find an answer, I would hate to have to hard reset, since I have already spent in excess of 10 hours trying to get my phone to where it is now.
I did have task manager installed, but the problem persists even after uninstall. Also, I used task manager prior to the update with no problems.
Thanks so much!
PS: If I do have to hard reset, can I simply use Sprite backup to restore everything, or will there still be some things that need configuring (ie. home screen etc)?
Quick idea: Download ROM Manager from the Market and run "Fix Permissions." Sometimes that will clear up any force close issues.

Hi:
I tried your suggestion, but sadly, it didn't work
Thanks so much for your suggestion though!!
PS: The apps just close, I do not get an error message. I have found some posts with people with e-mail crashing issues, but it seems that they do get a force close message, and that it is Exchange related. I do not use exchange.
Now that you mention it, I have had the stock email client force close upon load a few times since the update, and it had never done that beforehand. Maybe try reflashing just the kernel?

Hi:
Sorry to be a dunce, but how do you reflash just the kernel, and will it delete everything (apps, data etc)?
Thanks so much!
My 2 cents:
I don't know why it took hours to enable sideloading, i spent only a few minutes - but that gives me the impression that something might seriously be broken.
I would back up everything you want to save and do a master reset - it will clear all data, but you hould be JH7 fresh. If you want to go further, you can reflash factory JF6 then update to JH7. Either way, make sure you check basic apps first before installing a bunch of stuff.
I don't subscribe to the blind grasping at straws method of fixing things. After to many hours it is just faster to rebuild. If you knew what was wrong, then fix it, but if you don't then rebuild.
I agree. If you are needing this to function properly now, then just reset back to factory and start over. But if you are like me and just have to know what is broken.....that could take a while. I always try to make sure I don't have anything on my phone I couldn't live without just for instances like this.
Flashing just the kernel can be done with Odin (search the forum). There is a "stock captivate kernel" floating around (I'd post it, but I'm sure we don't need files posted multiple times). Instructions are included in that post. Basically you need a computer, USB cable, drivers, and bollocks. However, as mentioned, this is a shot in the dark. Random force closes could be caused by a variety of issues ranging from corrupt software, file system inconsistencies, to hardware failure, phase of the moon, appetite level, etc....
The safest bet is to backup everything, flash stock (if needed) and take it back to AT&T for a replacement.
Good Luck!
Hi:
Thank you so much for the replies, and help.
I decided to go ahead and reflash JH7. This has fixed the entire problem. So, apparently it was software related.
I am now going to install all my apps one at a time, in order to find the culprit. Hopefully it is one I can live without lol.
Anyway, thanks again!
Did you ever figure out what app was causing this? I am starting to get annoyed with my force closes and was going to re-flash and re-add all apps.
Hi:
Well, I MAY have figured it out. I had a million programs installed, and it just seemed like too much work to try to figure it out.
So I just re-installed JH7, and started from scratch, so I'll never really know what the problem was.
However recently I started having the same problem again. Since I started from scratch I have been gradually installing programs, just in case one cased a problem.
Well, it seems my problem was Startup Manager. I did NOT disable any system programs etc..., but it was still causing apps to crash, as soon as I froze it with Titanium Backup Manager, the problem stopped.
So, if you happen to be using Startup Manager, I would try uninstalling/ disabling it. Or, if you use a task manager, try not using it, maybe it is stopping whatever Startup Manager was disabling on mine.
Anyway, I hope this was of some help.
Oops, sorry, the program causing my troubles is actually called Startup Auditor.

hello all.
Ok so long story short this it is a brand new samsung galaxy tab. I've had it for about a month or 2 it's completely stock no rooted no nothing. I press an application and nothing would happen. The tsblet just froze and wouldnt move so after a while, i hard rebooted and when it finally loaded, all my apps that i installed are gone.
The icons/shortcuts are still there but when i click them, they all say "application not installed"
What could it be? The tab is essentially brand new. ?..about 2 months or so.
Is my tablet going bad?
Oh and, the bloatware that came with the tablet ofcourse still work
Any ideas? Thanks in advanced

Have you tried a Factory Reset? Please note I don't remember where in stock firmware, Settings section it is located (also, you can do a Factory Reset through Stock Recovery). Your other alternative may be...welcoming a new firmware (i.e. Flashing a ROM) and see if the same happens.
So my watch updated last night, and now I am trying to figure out all the changes.
I see that we have new gestures. I don't really use them, so Meh.
I also see that my battery projection jumped from 50 hours to 3 days, so that I freaking awesome if it pans out.
Anyone see anything else?

I think Google's reason was: "Why? Because F**k you, thats why!" It also baffles me that they still haven't incorporated custom canned responses to declined phone calls; you are stuck with the default ones even though you set up custom ones on the phone - the reason was probaby the same as the reboot omisson.

Have you tried 'Unpair with phone'? To me that sounds like it would do a factory reset since an unpaired watch is basically useless.
Big change
Hi all,
Also got marshmallow, and biggest change for me is that it won't pair with phone. It comes up alright, and after accepting the Bluetooth code the phone wear app says "couldn't connect with ...". I tried factory resets (via unpair phone setting item), fresh install of wear phone app, and what not - still no luck.
Will try to downgrade and see if that helps.
Yours,
Christian

From what I understand factory reset is "Unpair with phone" now, as when you select it asks: "are you sure you want to unpair and factory reset watch.
Interesting thing, is the new Reminders app, doesn't seem to work it asks to update android wear on phone when I open it, but nothing happens.

I replied to you in the other thread but will post here as it may be useful to others..
I have the same issue. After OTA , i factory resetted and now it will not pair. I get "failed to pair...." I have tried multiple resets and cleared the data on the android wear app but no joy. I have gone back to 5.1.1 using the first post of the factory image thread. I was able to flash boot.img and system.img but recovery.img failed due to a partition error. Now everything is working again. Paired and synced on first attempt.

I also went back to 5.1.1 and things now work again - recovery flash also worked.
Seems the problem is really on the phone end. I have a Nexus 4 with "Fake stock" ROM (marshmellow). I could get the watch to pair with my Nexus 7 running stock 6.0..1 and that paired just fine. I also see other problems with the same Nexus 4 ROM with other bluetooth devices - e.g., my Jabra Tag II bluetooth audio RX/TX. I've posted on the ROM bug report forum.
My watch gives an error about a muted microfone although the mike is enabled everywhere in the settings where possible.
" Microfone disabled, waiting for injected audio."
Any suggestions?
Edit: Also the screen goes off after some time although I haven't enabled it anywhere?
Maybe I'll just reset it...
The biggest change for me - now we have native vibration when the watch disconnects (on connects) ... it was about f'in time ...

I also have nexus 4 running Chroma MM. I will wait for OTA again and this time I wont factory reset to see how it goes
Manually updated mine to 6.0.1 using adb and now my iPhone (9.3 beta3 and latest android wear app) constantly looses connection. Have to pair as new device, restarting phone and/ or watch won't help.
Does anybody experience the same?
Might have to go back to 5.1.1 ...

Hmm, well thats a disappointing. The removal of the reboot and reset is moronic and the new gestures are useless.
For the most part I cant get them to work, and even if I could why would I want to look like I was a nutter because I was randomly flapping my arm around trying (usually unsuccessfully) to control my damn watch?
delete me

I used the one at the top of the list. I don't know what the differences are between 5.1.1 versions
Watch has been off for a while. Camr back up, basically had to reset it.
Now Zenwatch Manager isn't even found in the play store, although I read another thread that said it caused the watch to be pretty slow. So maybe I'm not missing anything there.
Now I'm trying to install Our Groceries, and it says installing for a while and then finally quits and I have to need to click on unstall again. Seems it won't install.
Any thoughts?
Hi. So, I wake up in the morning to find that my phone was in recovery mode saying something along the lines of:
"Your device may be corrupt. If you keep facing this issue, you may need to factory reset your phone."
I restarted my phone only for it to restart (automatically) within a few seconds. This happened about 5 times. Then, finally, I decided to do a factory reset. After performing a hard reset, my device started working fine but only for a few minutes. I was setting up my applications and adding my Google accounts to the device when the phone restarted, again. I started looking around on XDA and other forums for anyone else facing the same problem. I went to Google Issue Tracker where I saw the same issue opened for today; however, that was on a Pixel 6. I tried sideloading an OTA image (from Google's website) and that was successful but I still kept facing the same problem. I performed a hard reset again and didn't download any applications and didn't do any additional settings. The phone worked fine for around 4-5 hours, so I decided to set it up with my applications and settings. As soon as I did that, my phone started restarting again.
Please help!

Are you Pakistani? If so, do you have any banking applications or any Pakistani app installed for that matter? Try hard resetting your phone and install each application you want one by one. You'll know when the problematic application is installed so you can uninstall it to get rid of your issue. It was a banking application for me :/
