I am experiencing a battery drain issue after updating to MIUIv23. I don't know whether its only me or all of you. I am posting here to know whether there is any way of reverting to v16 or any better way to solve this battery drain issue. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
before reverting , check under battery use ,which app or device is using the battery most, some times it could be some spurios app, try cleaning your cache to clear them
if that doesnt work try factory resetting and installing your apps
You can always revert to the previous MIUI version by formatting your phone using MiFlash (check MIUI forum for more details).

A month ago I posted this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650113
And I still cannot fix the problem. I sent the phone back to repair but it didn't help at all! The repair description said that they did a 'software update'. It took about 3 weeks for my phone to return so I don't really want to do it again. Unless I really have to.
I have tried many stuff to fix this problem:
Bought 2 new batteries
Clean ROM install with NVFlash
Installed different basebands and rils
Formatted the batterystats
Tried different kernels and ROMs (custom and official)
Pulled out SIM/SD Card
Please does anybody know a solution for this problem? I really want my phone back!

Wow your battery drain (Screenshots from your first thread) is really huge. Let's try to solve that mystery together
But there is a chance that your phone really is faulty after all you tried already.
Please insert the original battery and fully charge it.
I don't use stock roms but think you should flash an official kdz first without any custom kernels. V20q or V20s (maybe with flix tweakpack). DONT use titanium backup etc, leave it stock.
You should install battery monitor widget by 3c to get information on your mV consumption.
In your Screenshot your reception wasn't good, please set it to "2g only" for now (or even consider to disable data totally and check how it behaves with wifi only).
Use your phone normally. How is your battery?

Thanks for responding.
I have tried to install the latest firmware with the LG update tool and the drainage was about the same. I did not install anything else on the device then.
Currently I am on the latest CM7 kang by temasek and baseband version v20s with 420 ril (also v20s daemon, I don't even know what this is).
I'll try battery monitor widget.
The reception at where I live is not so good even with 2g only. But I don't think that's the case becuase I tested with airplane mode activated and have also removed the SIM card.
Thanks again.
Just wanted to report that battery monitor widget is showing a power consumption of about -130 mA while on standby.
I think this is a very big number. And I think I had about -10 mA before this problem.

I had the v20s deamon installed too and I also had a pretty huge battery drain.
So my suggestion : remove it (by installing clean rom again).
As Tonyp already mentioned : try to install an original LG rom with it's default BB en RIL (use NVFlash to flash it). Don't use any other kernels or tweaks. Just the default.
Also don't restore anything (for instance with Titanium Backup or other program).
And set your phone to use 2G only, because a bad reception can indeed drain your battery (and fast too !), because it constantly seeks the network. Setting it to 2G only (it's mostly the strongest signal) can avoid battery drains.
And finally try to recalibrate your battery, there are tools available for that in the Google Play store.
Recalibrating the battery is a hoax. At least if you mean to wipe the battery stats (what most tools do). Real recalibrating would be to completely drain the battery (till the 2x turns of - not more! A completely empty li-ion battery would damage it!) and fully charge it again. But that doesn't improve the battery life, it will only improve the battery reading precisness.

Same results with stock based roms too?
CM roms are battery hungry
Yes, I got the same results on stock ROMs. I tried to 'cleanly' install the v10b firmware via NVFlash without installing else on my phone many times. And the problem still persist.
i have a problem whit my battery...2-3 days ago i've installed the miui rom (also installed before) and it signal the battery ever at 100%...after that, believing that the problem is the rom, i tried cm 7.2 and the battery level isn't recognized...then i flash the v28e with bootloader unlocked and have the same problem of level battery (anyway recognised but not in perfect way)...what can i do? i tried the wipe battery stats and i'm not able to charge the phone off (i don't know why but it don't charge) ... thanks to everyone and sorry for my bad english
Format your phone wipe everything from system to dalvik and cache partition install fresh ROM..charge your phone when switched off ..if it fix than great otherwise go to customer care must be the port problem than
Try changing your baseband and RIL. That might work. Had a similar issue once and fixed it by doing that. Not sure if it's going to work but it's worth a try.

I rebooted my p990 yesterday and when it had restart there was no signal and the battery level was at 100% (even though it was only like 8% just before the reboot). Now the battery status is unknown, still no signal etc.
I've tried to clear cache/dalvik, I've tried re-installing the ROM, battery pulls, using a different battery...none of it has worked.
Anyone help me please?

Ah right sorry...I'm using temaseks 135.4 cm7 rom
I'm currently restoring a nandroid backup and seeing if that will bring back my battery/signal
Restoring the nandroid backup gave me back my signal/battery
Problem solved!
I flashed romaur 4.x, each version also found very hot and crazy battery draining issue even full wipe in recovery.
Finally, found the NFC couldn't start and the option missed in setting, know that there's got a new firmware for NFC, so I tried factory reset and the update pop up after reboot....
then..... problem solved..... although the battery still use faster than 434....
I have recently flashed a new ROM over my GE android revolution ROM and since then I have been getting strange Android System Battery drain from what seems to be my light/proximity sensors. I have no idea what app is causing this problem because even after a fresh wipe and install of a completely new ROM I still get the same issue. I have tried a lot and I really have no other options than to reach out for help. I heave searched and found no solutions.
