Unable to get data working on droid 3 (XT862)

I've tried doing everything in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591949
and I'm still not able to get data to work over GSM. I have data enabled in ##PROGRAM and all data options are enabled in settings and build.prop has verizon network set to 0.
Any ideas?

I'm in a similar situation to you. I assume you are able to make and receive calls?
I'm currently using a Droid 3 (from Verizon, XT862) in Australia.
I'm assuming it is already GSM unlocked, as I just put my SIM card into it and was able to make and receive phone calls and SMSs.
However, I am unable to get any sort of mobile data connection (besides WIFI).
I have tried tweaking the mobile network settings to use GSM/UMTS instead of Global network mode, but when I set up the APN...nothing happens.
I haven't tried I anything from that link from the other thread.
How do you go about changing the build. prop and adding
ro.ril.hsxpa=3
ro.ril.gprsclass=12
ro.ril.hep=1
ro.ril.enable.dtm=1
?

Gsm data is controlled via the apns under mobile networks. Ensure you are in gsm/umts mode and verify the correct apn is selected for your carrier. If there are no apns, hit menu > add apn and supply proper settings, they are either preloaded on the sim or listed on the carrier site. A quick google will also provide the correct info.
Also under data management, ensure data is enabled over mobile network. ##program ONLY changes cdma programming.

I've checked those and.the proper APNs are there. Also in UMTS mode.

How did you change the build.prop setting?
When I use a selected APN I get the same as you:
GSM Disconnects: Data State: DcInactiveState disconnected with last try at 9:59AM fail because No Error
Do you think it could be a problem with the radio?
If we flashed the XT883 radio, would that solve anything? or is it just an APN problem?

Have you tried flashing the XT883 radio.img onto it?

There should be absolutely no problem with GSM/UMTS data connection and MMS with unlocked xt862, just enter apn manually and go.
My personal butthurt is EV-DO with non-Verizon CDMA networks as it's really the issue even if you try to hack as the phones with the same Qualcomm chipsets like Droid 2 Global.
I've became real expert in flashing CDMA settings and real guru in tweaking props and rils. But it doesn't help.
I say no Moto and no Android anymore. I'm going to buy WP8 handset as soon as it become available with CDMA. F**k Moto and Google, long live Microsoft which never disappointed me with WM handsets.

i also have this problem
the phone is new (or refurb i dont know it was a warranty replacement)
i supplied APN (correctly of course)
3g comes for a second and the it goes away
in my case its notrooted and STOCK
i would SBF the phone but there is no SBF for the latest version i

im going to try that and that have worked for me in the past (but with old retired mine & not this new one)

I have the same problem after reflashing phone with STOCK firmware. Motorola and Android is bull****, i will never buy them anymore.

"Request" Droid 4 Flash to Pageplus Tutorial

Hello Everyone,
I've been tempted to purchase a Droid 4 but I'm currently on the Page plus Network. I've seen many tutorials for flashing 4G LTE phones on to page plus but I didn't really see a tutorial for the Droid 4. I was wondering since the D4 is similar to the RAZR/BIONIC, if I can just follow those tutorials. I really want to use the D4 and would appreciate it if someone were to help guide me through the flashing process.

Razr xt912 has even same hardware, it shouldn't be a problem to use tutorial for razr and doing same thing on d4

So I received my droid 4 and unfortunatly it was shipped with ICS. So following a lot of the common RAZR/BIONIC tutorials didn't really work out well for me. I saw a lot of people also having trouble trying to get the Droid 4 to work properly on PP with ICS. So I just wanted to say I followed the following steps on this following tutorial and it worked our flawlessly and I was able to get my phone working on talk/text 1X data.

Now my only challenge is getting 3G Data. For every razr/bionic tutorial I saw they went to the Phone info (*#*#4636#*#*) to try to set the radio test settings to get 3G/EVDO. For some reason on my Droid 4 when I enter this it simply disappears on the dialer and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to get 3G working on the Droid 4. So far all I did was disable all the LTE APNs, Enviroment, lte bbpanic disable, and change the sim type to 3g test uicc.
Can anyone help me out with this?

OKAY! After hours of playing with my Droid 4 on ICS on the Page Plus Network, I finally got 3G to work!!!!
First off, I realized the *#*#4636#*#* aka the INFO code wasn't working on the Droid 4 model because it doesn't exist in the firmware. Instead going through the program menu (##PROGRAM) I was able to access the test mode there and change options.
From my D4 ICS experience, to get 3G instead of 1X I had to
1. Access the Program Menu from the dialer ##PROGRAM aka ##7764726
2. Enter the SPC (000000)
3.Scroll Down to LTE TEST SETTINGS
4. Click SIM TYPE and then Choose 3G Test UICC then click Apply
5. Scroll down to LTE bppanic and select disable then click Apply
6.Then Scroll down and Click (Disable Class 1 APN, Disable Class 2 APN, Disable Class 3 APN)
7. Then choose LTE Movement detection and select Disable.
8. Click back twice the phone will restart.
At This point according to tutorials you should have 3G but if you're like me and unlucky didn't have 3G then do this.
1. Go to the dialer
2. Enter ##PROGRAM aka ##7764726
3. Then enter SPC (000000)
4. Then click Test Mode
5. Click Next and then click next again then you should be on the field test Screen
6. HDR hybrid mode should be (ON)
7.EVDO revision should be (A)
8. CDMA RX Diversity should be (OFF)
9. HDR RX Diversity should be (OFF)
10. Finally look up to where it says Network Mode
11. Change it to EVDO only and Check the top where your signal bars on. Give it a minute, it should pop and say 3G. If it says 3G and you can proceed to the final step and change the network selection to CDMA and EVDO and then back out of the menu.
12. There you go! You should have 3G on the Droid 4 now in ICS running on Pageplus.
In Gingerbread it was a whole lot more simpler. I hope this solution will help people running ICS.

By the way. My 4G lte sim card was in my phone the whole time. I don't know if it makes a difference but from the moment I got the the D4 and started flashing I left my D4 LTE sim inside my phone.

Hi Jeanr464. Does the 3G survive a reboot? The link to the howard forums tutorial in post #3 seems to indicate you need to;

Hey devinpatterson!
I can't tell you how many times I rebooted my phone or my phone died and has to turn on. The 3G does stick after reboot and the activatiion doesn't come back. I guess once the phone is succesfully activated the screen doesn't come back. Once you configure your phone settings to get 3G just leave those settings alone. I can confirm on. The droid 4 that it sticks after reboot.
Although, I can tell you if you remove the sim then the phone acts crazy with activation and all that jazz. While I was experimenting for hours getting 3G on the phone I saw some places that you have to remove the sim. So I did. And then activation and emergency calls and everything popped back on,until I put the sim back and reboot the phone.
According to all the tutorials I saw and my experience as long as you use a blank lte sim and successfully activate the phone (manually/*228 etc) the phone sim is programmed to work with your phone and removing or putting another sim with cause activation and data settings to trigger again.

Hi jeanr464. Thank you for all of this brilliant info about the Droid 4 with ICS. I'm a newbie also wanting to set up my new Droid 4 with PagePlus and wondering, does Snoop's step of dialing *22800 for activation work on this phone? If not, is manual activation something different, and if so, how do you manually activate? And in general, do all of Snoop's steps work except for dialing *#*#4636#*#* work for this phone?

Hey tubaman101,
To answer your question, manual activation is basically manually programming the phone and doing all the steps that *228 would have done. From my droid 4 experience getting on to pageplus, *228 didn't work right off the bat because of sim restrictions or some type of error. What you have to do is manually program the phone first with the correct settings to make basic features works then you'll be able to dial *228 where it will correct everything and fix everything to work like data and roaming etc. According to Snoops tutorial, basically what the manual programming is is the step where he enters ##7764726 aka ##PROGRAM and fixes the min and the mdn and settings the cdma only option. From there you have manually programed the phone. Then after setting those options when you try *228 it should work and then *228 will correct and program automatically all the phone options which then you should have perfect talk text and 1x. To get 3G just follow my steps above on how I did it.
To make it all simple(I'm going to summarize snoop' method) once you get the D4 and a blank sim, insert sim, enter bptools (tutorial shows how), set the phone to nvonly and evdo rev a with cdma workshop, dfs tool or qpst (tutorial shows how to) then from there enter ##PROGRAM in the dialer manually program your phone min and mdn (if you don't know what it is you can request PP customer service or PM me to help you get it, and set your phone to cdma only mode (tutorial explains how) and afterwards *228 and your set.
After to get 3G follow my steps.
It was very troublesome for me at first because I had no clue how to do this but I've done 4 droid 4s and a razr with this method so far so I've became slight savvy with it. If you have ANY trouble just list it here or PM me and I'll be more than happy to help out.

Hi jeanr464. I sent you a PM about if it is necessary to load a PagePlus prl file during the process, but I have a couple more questions.
I started with the steps you outlined using DFS. I don't think the nvonly and evdo rev a settings stuck because I got some sort of error message in the DFS Tools log, and I was not able to complete the next step of dialing ##program.
I'm wondering if it is because my sim isn't blank. I bought my Droid 4 on eBay new. (It was actually a warranty replacement phone that had never been opened or used.) It came with a new Verizon 4G sim card on top of the box. I wonder if this card was "assigned" to the previous owner, and so perhaps isn't blank.
Do you think I need to buy a new "blank" sim card? …and if so, do you have any recommendations as to where to get one?
Also, I was wondering if the port I chose in the CDMA tools was the right one. I chose "COM 6" in the attached picture. Was that correct?
(In case it matters, I'm doing this in Windows 7 on a partition created on my Mac computer.)

Okay, I don't think the sim card would be that much of a problem, but if the problem persists after trying the next steps then you can get a new one off ebay for 5 dollars like I did. In any case, you did choose the correct port in DFS tools. You brought up a very good point that I forgot to mention. You do need to load a pageplus prl. The one I used during the process was the 51720 EVDO prl. Once you find that one "google will be a great help", open up DFS tools and then make sure after you load up the program and select the port you enter the SPC 000000, its on the top right corner of DFS I believe ( I used Cdma ws). After that overwrite the PRL using the program and then make sure you set nvonly on nam 1 and nam 2 and set evda a. If you keep on getting errors with DFS tool let me know. In this case we might have to figure something else. In any case if you are successful, then once you trestart the phone you should if you hadn't already, bypass the activation or welcome screen, if you don't know how to do that let me know but if you are already on the regular screen with the apps and everything then proceed to the dialer and press ##program and follow the rest of snoops guide and you should be fine.
Honestly, the hardest part of this whole process is the programming on PC. After that you should be fine. As far as windows 7 is concerned, I used windows 7 and I was fine.

Write it to the phone
Change nam 1 and nam 2 to NVONLY instead of RUIM
change data to EVDO REV A.
make sure all settings are written and restart phone
If you are at the welcome screen bypass it (four corners unlock) if the phone is at the regular menu with the apps then go straight to dailer and ##PROGRAM
Change MDN and MIN
enter test mode and click next until you see the options to change the phone network to CDMA only
click back twice and the phone should restart
at this point you should have somewhat some type of service but then press *228
It might reject it the first time but try again and the activation screen will come up and the music will play and activate your phone
After that look above to figure out 3G

Forgot to mention one thing, after you program the phone on DFS tool you should switch the esn from PP from your other phone. Your MEID is the IMEI without the last digit so you should have 14 characters in total. Once you switch the esn or set a new activation from PP then proceed to the step with the ##program etc.

Jean I think I followed all the instructions on here but it still says fail to connect NAM after I put in the MIN and MDN so I can never I finish programing my droid 4 to Page plus. Can you please help me.

Warning Droid 4 JellyBean Upgrade + Pageplus Users
Just a fair warning to everyone using Pageplus. As you all the Jellybean update has been released and your phone might've already offered to upgrade your OS.
DO NOT UPDATE!!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT UPDATE!!!!
Although JellyBean is very beautiful, this update will break your Page plus configuration. I had two friends already who were on Droid Razr/Maxx and updated to JellyBean. The whole CDMA WS config has been reset so options like NV_ONLY and evdo config has been erased leaving the phone in a non working state- In terms of calling, texting or data.
I'm very tempted to get JellyBean and everyone is looking for a safe solution to upgrade to JellyBean and have PP. As far as I've seen online, there have been successful tutorials but it required re-flashing the system to a factory state and re-configuring and other had it where you need a new sim and was necessary to root the phone. I'll be experimenting and posting my results soon. If anyone comes up with a success, please share!!!:laugh:

Working Perfect
I have my Droid 4 JB flashed working with full 3G on Pageplus never activated SIM and no problems. Same way as with the RAZR/RAZR MAXX. You can use any sim and not have any problems.

What was your situation?
How did you do it? I performed a straight upgrade and my config screwed up. Did you just reflash it and reconfigured it? Can I apply the same CDMA workshop method to this firmware?

Getting 3G to stick
Hey. Thanks for the tutorial on how to get 3G working. I haven't gotten it to work for some reason. I'm running ICS and I have 1X working. My girlfriend has the same phone and I did the same thing, but for whatever reason, not even 1X will work on hers. I did your settings in the ##program menu. The LTE and test settings. I'm not having luck getting 3G to stick.
It also seems that I cannot always get data to work by toggling wifi off. I have to not be around it or turn off my router. Getting 1X to work seems to sometimes be random. If I get 1x working and then If I go into the ##program menu now and turn EDVO only, 3G will come up for about 5 seconds and then disappear. After many restarts and trying things, 1X is all I can get. I wonder if it has something to do with where I am? Great Falls, Montana.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm going to post my phone settings and try to match her settings to mine. You said you already did the LTE bbpanic off , apns disable, and test settings...
Okay Go to test settings in the program menu, click next until you see the Field test screen and make sure your phone matches these settings:
Service Option - EVRC
HDR Hybrid Mode - ON
EVDO Revision- A
Network Mode- CDMA and EVDO
CDMA RX Diversity- OFF
HDR RX Diversity- OFF
then hit the back button on your phone twice so it can restart.

I can confirm I am not on Jellybean. I didn't update it yet because I thought it might break it. Also all of those settings match on both of our phones.

Okay. So... I think it might have to be with the configuration of the phone. I believe it could be:
1. The PRL
or
2. EVDO settings
So we're going to have to CDMA WS or DFS your phone and check the settings. (Recommend DFS since everything is available.)

Put your phone in Bptools mode - (Turn off, press volume +/- buttons and press power, scroll to bptools, press volume up)
Connect it to the computer
Go to device manager and find out what COM port it's on.
Open DFS and select the ports on the top left, double click on the port of your phone (A green circle should appear next to it after your click) then exit out of the port selection screen.
Then on the top left of the screen under Ports you should see SPC. Click on it to unlock the SPC of your phone.
Now click on the Programming tab. Once you click the Programming Tab, Click on the NAM tab under ( It's between general and Data).
Now there should be a section to the right that says PRL. on the bottom click READ and then tell me what PRL number shows up. (The number is located in the box on top of the Read button).
Afterwards, click on the Data tab ( It's next to the NAM tab you clicked earlier)
On the bottom there should be a READ button. Click that button.
Now Tell me in your next post if the PPP config to the left has your phone number @dun.vzw3g.com and post all your the MODE settings
Ex:
SIP NAI= (Your Phone) @dun.vzw3g.com

This happened to me a few months ago. The phone is definitely capable and you will get LTE signals on the $60/month GoPhone plan.
1. First of all, call GoPhone customer support (611 from the phone) and confirm that they have your HTC One whitelisted for LTE. They're going to double check with you your phone's IMEI number (they can already see it, but will ask you for it anyway), and then confirmed that the phone is allowed to get LTE signals. They're also going to double check your APN setting and provide you with the appropriate entries for AT&T.
2. Reboot and see if you now get LTE signals. If you still don't get it, check whether your mobile network settings is set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto instead of GSM/WCDMA Auto or WCDMA Preferred (or maybe something else). If you don't see any LTE option, dial *#*#4636#*#* from your dialer, and in the first drop down box choose 'GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto' or anything with LTE just to make sure you can catch LTE signals at all. If you were able to find and switch to the setting you want, exit out, and go back to that menu, double checking if the setting sticks. If it does, reboot and try again.
3. Most people will get LTE signals after #1 above, while some were only able to get it after #2. However if you are unlucky like me, the LTE setting does not show up in mobile network and no matter what I do in the hidden menu, the setting won't stick (it's stuck on GSM/WCDMA Auto). I actually tried flashing a different radio at this point (a newer AT&T radio), but still... no LTE for me. What solved this finally for me is that I flashed a custom ROM (in my case it was ARHD 12.2). This enabled me to choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto under mobile network settings, and after that I was able to get LTE. It was great! :good:

[HOW TO][R&D] : SM-G900P working with any LTE band.

Hi everyone,
I really appreciate the work everyone puts in on this site, it's amazing. This past week, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G00P, the Sprint Model)
So I will edit this guide later on with pictures, but right now I just need to write down what I've discovered.
I'm also not sure if everything I say is necessary / absolutely will work for you, also if you try to do some of this on your own, it's your own responsibility if something bad happens.

Short Requirements

EFS Professional
QXDM Professional (I believe QPST must also be installed)
Cyanogenmod 12.1 with BusyBox
So, what I have done is flash Cyanogenmod 12.1 for the SM-G900P on the phone and installed BusyBox. Then I have downloaded EFS Professional on my computer.
Then enable USB Debugging (adb debugging.) Open up EFS Professional, go to the Samsung Tools tab and select the bottom option with includes Modem + Diag. Open up QXDM Professional, go to the Communications tab up top and enter in the Samsung port (COM9, for example) and make sure to check it off.
Go to "LTE" option in QXDM and enter in "0xFFFFFFF3FFF" AKA "17592185995263" underneath ID 06828 and ID 06829. There should be two config's per ID, I entered in both. (It should be noted that "0xFFFFFFF3FFF" will enable "ALL" LTE bands and may not be necessary)

Finicky Step (That seems to enable LTE, somehow)

Now restart the phone, just to eliminate any possibility of errors. Go to: Settings > Mobile networks > Network operators > choose AT&T
Now I have done this step differently a few times, but this is what seems to get rid of HSPA+ and H to force LTE on (not sure why)
Sometimes I have selected T-Mobile instead of AT&T and let it time out, then select AT&T or just restart the phone and select AT&T.
I really don't seem to understand why this works like this, maybe someone has some more insight? If I restart the phone, it goes back to HSPA+.
I know this is using AT&T's LTE bands, because LTE Discovery shows Band 2 a lot of the time. Weird thing is, sometimes it shows Band 25, even though I believe that is a band that Sprint uses.
CM13 - Does not have "Network operators" option.
I'd like to write a script that either automatically goes through the menus on boot, or can automatically disconnect from the network and connect to the correct network.
ALSO WORKS,
If you download the "Radio Switcher" app, set to GSM auto (PRL), then set to LTE/GSM auto (PRL) in that order.
Turn OFF radio, turn radio on, select GSM auto (PRL), let it connect, then select LTE/GSM auto (PRL) and it will connect to LTE immediately.
Mostly interested in the underlying causes of why this works. Could be applied to more phones in general.
Earlier when I was adding LTE bands it seemed like they added (showed up on QXDM) but LTE would never connect. Something interesting is in the program "DFS" 6829 wouldn't show the edited changes or let me edit them, QXDM seemed to work ok though.

Other discoveries:
Once you initially set it to LTE, sometimes it randomly goes back to HSPA+. But I've had LTE last good amounts of time (1-2 hours)
If you make a phone call it switches to HSPA+ but won't revert back to LTE.
If you open up the "Radio Switcher" or "Network" app (they are the same) it sometimes will just go back to LTE immediately, other times you simply need to run the Ping test.
I think it keeps reverting back to HSPA+ after a while because it eventually connects to Band 25. Not sure if I can access the Service Menu (*#0011#) on Cyanogenmod, maybe to set priority? Might actually be because of too many different LTE bands enabled.
I'll try adding only AT&T's bands to see how things work.
So far, tried bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 17 - can't get LTE. Band 2 only, can't get LTE. Only getting HSPA+ on GSM auto (prl) and HSPA on LTE/GSM auto (prl). Tried both decimal and hex values in QXDM. For example, I've entered in 2 (decimal) and (0x2) and (0x02)
Wanted to point out here, phone booted up with service immediately.
Tried all bands except for 25, no LTE, a little more laggy, but not as bad as when band 25 is enabled.
Tried band 2 and 25, Got LTE, takes a lot of time when turning on phone for service to appear and when changing radios.
So, for some reason band 25 is needed in order to get LTE on other bands.
With bands 2 and 25 only enabled for LTE, I rarely drop to HSPA+.
It has only happened twice in the past 6 hours. (The LTE Discovery App has an option to cycle the network when LTE disconnects, which seems to only refresh HSPA+ once it goes back)

So I went back to stock firmware on the Touchwiz 5.0.
"Network" and "Radio Switcher" apps don't work, but "Advanced Signal Status" does.
Same steps work here as above in "getting" LTE, also there are more options to choose from.
LTE/WCDMA seems to work too.
Problem is I am getting this error:
"LTE: ESM - 33 EMM - x"
and can't connect to the internet, only band 25 seems to be connecting, unlike band 2 last time (maybe this is because I was on klte CM ROM).
I also should note that it now says "GPRS service: Disconnected"
In ServiceMode (*#0011#) I haven't had any luck, in the cases where I can do anything with the LTE bands it is only for 25, 26, and 41. Other cases show more bands, but it says something like "not
supported" to edit anything.
I also tried messing around with the ##3282# LTE settings, only shows 25, 26, 41 bands and I can't change the priorities.

This is because Straight talk doesn't support Voice over 4G, so your data connection has to fall back to 3.5G in order for a call to be placed.

Some more observations, I used this app called connection stabilizer which constantly pings for network connectivity. I think this might help keep the LTE up longer, when driving I will eventually lose LTE and get a ping failed. I'm not really that sure if this helps or not, but it's a total pain because you need to keep data on. One more thing to note is on the "mobile network settings" page I never see "GSM/WCDMA/LTE" option
I believe the only way for a permanent solution is to be able to flash another modem on the phone (such as SM-G900A or SM-G900T). Problem is Odin will never let me, I've tried everything to get another modem flashed with no luck, if anyone has any ideas or solutions please let me know I'd love to get this phone working consistently with LTE, although it seems that I may as well just return it and get the SM-G900T as it supports many bands (including the AT&T bands) Only thing is there is no FM Radio on the T-Mobile version, but I was planning on using Cyanogenmod anyways and NextRadio doesn't seem to work with the SM-G900P with Cyanogemod. Maybe there's a build.prop edit to allow it? Or maybe it's a kernel issue.

Did you make any further progress with LTE on touchwiz? Been tinkering and trying to get T-Mobile LTE (band 2 & 700Mhz) working on my own G900P.
Something interesting I found is that if I have it set to LTE/GSM (autoPRL) sometimes it will remove (hide) any T-mobile APNs and force you to use "sprint wholesales" and "global roaming SPCS". (switching back to GSM/WCDMA restores the T-mobile APNs. I wonder if that can be overriden by finding where those defaults are in the system files and editing them to be T-mobile...

Since the G900P is a CDMA phone, I've assumed that to get LTE on a GSM network I'd have to edit NV values in QPST/QXDM/EFS Professional to enable some bands. I've done that before on a G900V with KitKat on it and it gets GSM LTE fine.
The past few days I've looked for a solution and yesterday I was finally able to seemingly enable diagnostic mode and get into my G900P that has Marshmallow 6.0.1 on it. It was a headache just getting in to read the values. QXDM read the NV values but they only went as high as 6754; in the past the LTE bands needed enabling on 6828 and 6829. I don't know if the NV system has changed in Marshmallow or if my versions of QPST/QXDM/EFS Professional are outdated and won't read everything in 6.0.1 or some other problem. I wasn't able to make any band changes. Maybe somebody with more experience will have better luck.

In my case... I've managed to get it to look like the bands in question are enabled via QPST/QXDM (confirmed with readback through DFS/EFS pro)... but the LTE radio still doesn't activate (band ID in the debug screen is -119, LTE radio is "idle")
the write "block" you're experiencing is something Qualcomm/Samsung put in the android code as a binary blob (no source for people to find and disable/reverse engineer/bypass). Third party mods (CM etc that are not touchwiz kernel based) don't have this block.

I think I'm SOL with my only remaining option to try flashing a custom ROM. The LTE radio in my device simply won't start on any band other than 25.

Sorry for the late reply, I basically gave up after not getting anywhere with hours spent on this, I tried flashing alternative modems and nothing would work.
So this is what happened to me. It would show it alternating between bands 2/25.
My theory is even though I was able to modify the bands on the device (the values registered) it didn't do anything.
It seems as if disabling bands is the only thing that really works.
CM13 (kltedv) seemed to run as an okay ROM for the Sprint S5, it was easier to force the 2/25 LTE band on, problem with this is when you disconnect from that tower or place a phone call it will revert back, plus there comes to be issues with texting/calling by forcing it on LTE and there seems to be issues with switching between LTE and HSPA+
I recommend purchasing a SM-G900T as it provides a multitude of bands and the bootloader is unlocked, only downside is the FM Radio does not work.
*If anyone gets other LTE bands working on this phone, PLEASE post the solution here it would be insanely appreciated*

Yeah... there was some discussion as to whether the 900P doesn't have band calibrations for non-sprint LTE bands.
I'm not really looking for a new phone, just figured that if I could get LTE it would be a nice bonus.
Re FM radio: I looked into this some a while back, it works on the G900P because they have the correct radio transport code in the radio app... (other radio apps can't see the FM chipset) there are actually kernel modules (iris_radio_transport.ko) which should provide a standard FM radio interface for the G900P. Be interesting to compile those for a non-sprint phone and see if other models also have FM radio.

Well this thread kind of got my hopes up, then back down again.
I would really like to be able use LTE with this phone for AT&T. Having a difficult time trying to get it to read with QPST. EFSpro works fine though.

Also I got the values for 6828/6929 to stick. They are there when I reboot and everything. My biggest issue now is forcing LTE. I'm on CM13 and I have tried the prl method you mentioned but no matter what I try, LTE won't activate.

Go to "LTE" option in QXDM and enter in "0xFFFFFFF3FFF" AKA "17592185995263" underneath ID 06828 and ID 06829. There should be two config's per ID, I entered in both. (It should be noted that "0xFFFFFFF3FFF" will enable "ALL" LTE bands and may not be necessary)

I managed to get in some places where I can see LTE but I don't see where I can edit anything to enter in "OxFFFFFFF3FFF" AKA "17592185995263”

Hi, in the NV browser there should be a tab that has a pull down menu where you can just jump ahead and get to 6928/6929.
Out of curiosity, what baseband firmware are you on?

I'm on CM13, I'm sorry I just realize that I'm on a different firmware than the one in the tutorial.
If you mind, let me please take a little time to explain my case.
The phone had several problem (you can ask details if you want) I went to my network provider to see if they can fix it, the representative told me the phone needed to be flashed but since I didn't bought it from them they could do nothing. And when I got back I searched Google to see what it is about.
I could see under setting that my phone was a SM-G900T. Than I downloaded the stock OS for that specific version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. And any other required stuff like Odin, Samsung USB drivers and more. But the freshly downloaded firmware failed to installed on the phone. I finally managed to understand when I saw in the download mode screen that the phone was a SM-G900P NOT SM-G900T.
Than I downloaded the stock firmware for SM-G900P and it success to install on the phone. The phone was then working perfectly fine. But I couldn't get LTE since my carrier's band for LTE is band 3 (1800). And I tough if it had SM-G900T previously and at this time it was compatible with my carrier's LTE band cause T-Mobile also has band 3 for LTE, that's suppose to mean that I can get SM-G900T aboard or to have band 3 on it.
Maybe I give too much detail, but I want to make sure you fully understand the case and thank you for your help. We're almost at the end (loll).
Based on my reading, I tough installing a custom firmware would resolved the problem and that's why I installed CM13 (the first time I could say I love android ... I'm more accustomed to iOS) to find that I was not that right (it get even worse cause now I receive no data at all unless I'm on WiFi). Than I found this tutorial and an other one on XDA saying that it's possible to enable other bands on the phone.
But any tuto I use I get stocked at some point and I'm so novice to that field. But I can follow institutions:good:
Actually I can't access the USB settings screen and there's only two codes that works on it : *#06# for imei and *#*#4636#*#* which open a screen named "test".

Download Terminal Emulator for Android on Play store.
Open and grant su permission
Issue the following commands:
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,acm,adb
Then issue the following command to make sure your changes stuck:
getprop sys.usb.config
(Should get diag,acm,adb)
Download EFS Professional
Turn on USB debugging
Open and click on Samsung tools, click the pull down menu and choose DIAG + MODEM + ADB
(If not already selected)
Make sure you are connected to a server.
Then open QXDM
click options > communications
Make sure the phone is being read (MSM***)
Click the target port pulldown menu and select your active COM.
Click View > Common > NV Browser
Should be able to read/write.
Look for 6928/6929 for LTE BC CONFIG
But beware, I'm not sure if this works. I have countless of times tried to do this mod and successfully completed the LTE mod, I still don't get LTE. No matter what radio I set it on. I even flashed back to my stock firmware, rerooted, and tried again to see if I could have more capabilities in service mode. It appears that you can only enable/disable the LTE bands that are equipped to the hardware.
Meaning that my LTE Modem most likely can only use band 25,26,41 as it's the only bands to be coded in my modem firmware. However, I was able to unlock band class 10, because it was built with the hardware.

Whoa easy there, my 6928/6929's description is LTE BC CONFIG
LTE BC CONFIG DIV.
In the NV browser, there should be pulldown menu, within that menu, there should be an LTE category. Where LTE BC CONFIG/LTE DIV (6928/6929) should be. If you can't find it then I can may no longer be of assistance as the efs may be different considering the differences you mentioned about firmware earlier.

Use your Sprint phone on T-Mobile.....ZV6 users only?

I have only updated the information for changing in hidden menu and PropEditor. I also credit the maker for the CDMA to GSM Patch, Mentor.37 for his work and everyone else who has helped him.

I do not know if this will work for any other Sprint phone not on ZV6
Bands 2, 4, 12 are for bands T-Mobile.
Download PropEditor and edit these settings....Don't forget this step first!!
ro.build.target_operator=SPR => TMO
ro.build.target_country=US
ro.telephony.default_network => 9
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice => 0 ....don't forget to save and reboot.
Along with Hidden Menu 5689#*991# to change your APN settings properly and set
Field Test => Modem Settings =>
PDP Setting => [5] APN Setting ...... now you have to select the bottom one then go into menu [ ] press until you see delete APN
you must do this because a bug I am seeing only allows the bottom APN setting to be used, I usually delete all until the APN I use is on the very bottom selection. no go back
Network Mode = Automatic => go back => RAT Selection = GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
LTE Band Selection doesn't work proplerly so installing the modded Shortcut Master (Lite) from the link above be sure to go to
lotHiddenMenuMain (witout root) => LTE setting=> LTE Data Roam Config....and enable

Band 25 should be disabled unless you can use it. You cannot really set APN here.
I sometimes install the CDMA to GSM patch for global phones but I then have to re-do the PropEditor settings again, but it may be able to configure anything else that is missing, you can try to Adb Sideload the zip or use FlashGordon app to try to install, honestly I don't know if either worked for me for the patch.
This is what I configure to get my phone to working with T-Mobile.

Has anybody with an LG G4 rom version ZVG been able to successfully get their phone working on T-Mobile?
My phone is paid off and Sprint sent the domestic SIM unlock code. When the TMO sim is in and the phone's network mode is set to Auto, and and APN is manually entered per TMobile's specs, the phone can connect to the network and make calls, send SMS, connect to EDGE data, and sometimes send MMS, but it never connects to LTE. If I change the network mode to LTE/CDMA, the phone doesn't connect at all.
I read elsewhere to try change the "Bearer" field in the APN to "LTE" but that field is not displayed or editable in the APN input/edit screen. I tried a bunch of the Shortcut Master (Lite) or similar ways to expose the hidden menus to edit the full APN but they all fail due to permissions (because of ZVG version?). Shortcut Master (Lite) says it would work if upgraded to the paid Secret Codes version, can anybody verify that before I pay?
Or, any other suggestions to get this fully working with LTE or can even confirm that this is possible?

guys this is kinda old news
the build prop also is better set from

then xposed modules such as android theme and such work.
but great find on thew band settings
ive been running my g2 g3 and g4 on tmobile and att and its subsidiaries for a long times now
and the g series sprint phones have been the best at taking to other networks due to the sprints already supporting most of the bands`

Doesn't the phone need to be rooted for the build prop to be edited?
And as far as I can tell, there isn't a root for a G4 on ZVG firmware?
Basically, to start with, can anybody confirm if a LS991 ZVG can be made to work on TMobile without root, or if there is a good rooting method, where is it?

paid version aint got nothing to do with it its a sprint thing have u tried the uicc unlock id call srint back and tell them and ask about it sprint still hast apns locked down shortcutmaster is free and does all u need in that area
sprint should still have to suport the device as it has been paid off and unlocked as per their policy and they havnt fully unlocked it like they claim

Can you be more specific on what I need to ask Sprint about? Like I said, I asked for the the Domestic Sim Unlock and they sent that over the air and a confirmation showed up on the phone. It does not reject the T-Mobile SIM like it would normally, so something has changed from the default state.
Still looking for confirmation from somebody that has successfully connected their ZVG LS991 to TMO after a Domestic Sim Unlock.

so its accerpting the sim but apns are still greyed out where u cant edit them
need to ask sprint for the msl of this device so u can attempt to edit the apns it may take a few calls but most of the time if u keep ure cool and keep trying they will eventually give it to you
tell them the situation u paid it off they sent u the unlock code but are still unable to edit the apn without the msl
