Dear XDA Developers, //*Excuse my English
I am the owner of the phone samsung galaxy s3 mini GT-l8190. On the phone I installed root and cwm - With any rom installation wasnt problem.
After installing a new kernel to 4.1.2 Official rom (via cwm) see : bitly/1vMGGsk (fill missing dot) Only working backup of official version with less follow-up. I installed new kernel (via odin) from your site (xda..) and the speed of the phone is back to normal. After installing a new rom (CyanogenMod 11) there were problems like: lengthy first load after installation, after restarting the phone does not load the graphical area (desktop) .... jumps messages like: "The process has stopped working .. android. com ".

Hi,
I would like to install ICS ROM on Galaxy S .
As I read in the following thread, there is no need for special preparation for installing this ROM.
The previous time I tried to install that ROM, my device got into restarts with loops.
Now, I'm a little nervous doing that again.
Should I verify something before installing? Kernel?
My device properties are:
Model number: GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: I9000XXJVS
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVS-CL565837
[email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XXJVS
Thanks in advance,
Rotem
Just follow every step in this tutorial and everything should be fine!

Looks like a problem with early versions of Onecosmic ICS for sgs1
If you get into a bootloop!
Go to Recovery (Three button combination Vol Up + Home Key + Power Off)
Clean Cache and Dalvik Cache and do Factory reset
Flash the ROM again!
Try this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1489213
flash rom from icsteam rc 4
Just get the samsung (not CM7) Kernel cleaning script from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166954
flash it through recovery and do a factory reset, clear cache and dalvik cache and wipe battery stats just to be safe.
After that you should be able to install and ICS rom. they come with built in kernels so you wont have to worry about that. however you might have to flash a modem through recovery as some of the roms dont come with one.
Hello everyone,
Like your intro video said, I'm a noob. So I'm here to ask your kind help.
My device is a LG P990, baseband version 1035.21_20110725, kernel version 2.6.32.45-cyanogenmod [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 19 12:17:16 WEST 2011, build number, MIUI-2.3.30, android version 2.3.7.
Yesterday I've decided to try another ROM and switch from my MIUI 2.4.13 to CyanogenMod 7. In CM7 WiFi deos not work, so I decided to put MIUI 2.4.13 on again. After that, whenever I try to switch on my WiFi connection, the phone freeze and I have to pull out the battery and reboot. The reboot don't fix the problem.
I'm actually using MIUI 2.3.30 (last stable mod) on my LG P990.
What I have to do to fix this problem?
EDIT: I've restored the stock ROM, but the problem persists. I think is an HW issue.
Thanks,
Lorenzo
HELLO,
I suggest you to make a data/cahe wipe
go in advance, wipe dalvik cache.
and flash again your rom.
if after that it doesn't work, you go back in CWM, you go in mount/storage, mount system and format system, and then flash again.
NOTICE : it will wipe everything like sms/mms/ etc.
good luck
first issue. after downloading the update 4.1.2 OTA and trying to install it, it failed to upgrade saying to try kies. tried this 3 times the i gave up and used kies. with kies it succeeded in upgrading to 412. but now after each restart, after the samsung logo it says ,,android is upgrading, starting apps´´ for a few second and starts normally. is this normal? or the os didnt complete the instalation?
2nd issue: yesterday i noticed that my battery charged very slowly, from 1% to 25% in about 3 hours. so i let it charge over night. this morning it was 100 % but when i disconnected the charger it changed to 95%. i restarted the phone 1 minute later (still getting the android is upgrading message) and it showed 92%. since then it stabilised and now drains normally.
my main concern is with the first issue because after the update its worse than before. i read the topic with the complaints about the new update and i´m in the same situation with them.
i dont use a custom rom or have the phone rooted. it was rooted with the exynos abuse app when it had 4.0 but before upgrading i uninstalled it. dont know if this matters in any way.
3rd issue. i was using widgetlocker before the upgrade and after the upgrade it crashes. tried reinstalling it with different versions but it says memory not enough or full or something like that. does anyone have a good version that works with 412? tx!
install safe kernel like philz from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
go to recovery mode (volume up+power+Home button) wipe /system /data /preload /cache /dalvik cache
download and install stock rom using pc odin following the how to from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
my phone displays in info:
baseband version n7000XXLT3,
kernel version : 3.0.31-1103517 [email protected] #3 smp preempt sat apr20 02:25:55 kst 2013
build number JZO54K.N7000XXLT5 .
is this the necessary kernel? << 12.05.2013 - PhilZ-cwm6 v5.03.0 with CWM 6.0.3.2 based recovery >>
DDLSC - DXLSE - JPLSB - XXLT5 - ZSLO2 Fixed for bootloop
ZCLSF (no bootloop fix, proper default.prop) ?
and ROM? N7000XXLT5 N7000OXXLT2 - Romania (Cosmote). i am in romania but i am on orange not on cosmote,

The procedure is simple, once you understand what is needed for custom ROM's ( all ROM's above 2.3.6 are custom ROM's as it was not released by Samsung but customized by developers for i9000 )
1) your current ROM, is known as stock ROM that still has an upgrade ...latest is 2.3.6
2) to flash custom ROM's you need a CWM (clockWorkMod) recovery, which is best installed by flashing a kernel with CWM recovery on the i9000)
3) After Flashing the 2.36 ROM plus flashing the CWM recovery , its best to have a Backup ( that can be restored in the event of problems in the future ) as well an efs backup ( this backs up your IMEI ( phone Identity) that can get lost/corrupted when flashing cutom ROM's
4) Once you have the above, its best to do a progressive upgrade , so its best to flash the ICS version than the Jelly Bean version ( which is what you like) before the Kit Kat version ( coming soon)
Note:- you can jump from Gingerbread to Jelly Bean as many have done, and had experienced IMEI problems and look for solutions to resolve or just flash the ICS first to avoid it.
5) once you understand this go here> upgrading to gingerbread 2.3.6, than to ICS and finally to the ROM you like, which clearly tells you
First time installing to your Galaxy , or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
- Boot into Recovery
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache
- Flash crDroid zip from internal SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

that's it you are done
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
Hello, I have a problem with my phone and I need some help.
I tried to install Kit Kat 4.4.4 using recovery mode (CWM), the install process ran smoothly but it had some issues so I tried to install Lollipop 5.1.1 (CyanogenMod 12.1) 20150412 stable from novafusion using TWRP (v.2.8.1.0) but apparently I made some mistakes, I used the Advanced Wipe tool and deleted (Dalvik cache, System, cache, data, internal storage) after this I can not install any moded ROM.
The phone stays on the "Samsung Galaxy s3 mini" screen.
Can somebody help?
My phone model is GT-i8190L
looks like you need to head over to http://http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, login & d/l original firmware for ur fone & region, then flash via odin, & start root, custom flash again.............carefully this time & be sure to make full nandroid backup before flashing so you can restore if problems occur......good luck & post again if you need more help

Now install the drivers and still recognize it.
