Hi all,
I need the stock 4.4.4 firmware to flash for my Moto X (O2 GB) - I'm in the UK.
It rolled out over OTA a few weeks ago, but I've soft bricked my phone and need to reflash. Anyone got the link?
Thanks
Jamie
I'm not sure it's even released yet for flashing. I could be wrong. You may need to just wait.
Cause you can't flash a lower version without risking a brick.

Hey guys,
Looking for a bit of help with unrooting my S4 Active and pretty much reverting it back to out of the box if it is possible.
I got my Active rooted about a year ago. I did it without much knowledge on how rooting and install custom firmware works, but amazingly I somehow got it done. But now I've have got to the point where I no longer need it rooted or running custom firmware and would like to return it to an out of the box state like when I first bought it.
Here is a bit of information about my device:
Model: GT-I9295
Version: 4.2.2
BB: XXAMF7
I'm not really sure on how I rooted it in the first place as it has been a while, but I do remember using ODIN and possible CWM, if that makes any difference. I'm looking to revert it back to 4.2.2 official so I can use the OTA update feature to keep my phone up to date and so on.
If anyone is able to help me, or point me in the direction of a good tutorial on unrooting and installing official firmware that would be great.
Thanks

Hi
One of the safiest way to unroot you device is to back up your phone then flash a stock firmware 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 available on sammobile.com and flash it with odin. You will automatically go back to stock firmware and it will be same as it was out of the box.

Thank you for the help.
I managed to find a stock 4.2.2 firmware on sammobile.com for my phone and country, but it seems like samsung haven't pushed out a 4.4.2 version for Australia yet.
There is a 4.4.2 version for New Zealand though, which is basically just next door to Australia. So I found that quite odd.
Do you know if there is anyway to flash an official 4.4.2 firmware to an Australian device?
Thanks again.

The country on the firmware doesn't mind because even you choose let say netherland versions it will work find as example for me I flashed singapire version on my s4 active while I'm in Mauritius and it work fine... you may choose any of it to install

It doesn't matter which country firmware do you get. The country is there only for OTA updates. So if you flash a Netherlands stock ROM then you will get the next OTA update when Netherlands gets it. Otherwise other country.
Just flash the stock ROM with odin on your phone and it will be unrooted, removed the custom recovery and all back to stock.
Good day to you.
I flashed
TMO_Retail_XT1053_5.1_LPA23.12-15.222.21.15.ghost_row.Retail.en.US
and XT1058_GHOST_RCICA_5.1_LPA23.12-15_cid14_CFC.xml
today, both get no signal and IMEI is "0"
It happened before when I was flashing RETAIL-XT1058_BR_5.1-222.21.7-BR and I fixed it by flashing (NON-HLOS, fsg, motoboot) from ATT_XT1058_4.4.4-KXA21.12-L1.26_CFC_1FF.xml
When I tried to do the same thing today, I get the error
downgraded security version
update sbl3 failed
Do anyone know how to fix this?
I use ATT in US.
I am not sure about my phone model. I believe I picked US Celluar Factory Unlocked phone, but it writes Model: xt1053 at back
You should've only flashed what's for your model only. If it says xt1053 in the back of the phone, only I repeat ONLY flash official firmware that is only for your phone. If you flash a different models firmware, then it causes hard brick. Since you flashed 5.1, there is no possible way to downgrade at the moment. And if it was uscc, it would say xt1055. I know because I have one.

Updating is easy and if Sony PC Companion is malfunctioning, you could use Flashtool ( get it here )
After that you can download the latest firmware ( ftf format ) here
There are some guides on how to flash the latest firmware, and don't worry flashing won't void your warranty or root your device.
This is the best and the most informative click me
Good luck
Hi
If I do that, will ota updates work in future?
Don't have time to fiddle around too much now and again every time there's an update,
Any ideas how to get it to pick up the ota update, which I'm sure has already been released for its region?
There's a thread around here with a tool to download the official full firmware files per region and flash them to your phone.
As long as you use a region that's compatible (with radios and all) the effect should be a perfectly fresh installed stock phone that will pick up OTA's just like any other official firmware.
sony flashtool or something? I can't remember.
Hi,
The firmware thats on the phone is global region,
23.0.A.2.93 - Unbranded - GLOBAL (1286-9917) #1
But i dont see lollipop updates for it.
Which region firmware should i use to flash?? Which would work 100%
Pls help with some advise asap which will work
Hi everyone!
I would like to ask if, despite having installed the new January update, I could still safely flash an official unbranded firmware ( from the same region) in my branded device (exynoss version) without hard brick it.
I'm asking because I have read many conflicting opinions about the subject.
Thanks in advance!
looks like you Can but don't hold Me to it. I'm leaving Myphone alone I can not afford a Bricked phone
After having all kinds of trouble running stock ATT image on my S7 Edge, I recently upgraded my phone to G935UUES8CRK2 and it has been running great. Yesterday I received a notification saying an upgrade is available and I should upgrade. How can I find out if this is a "U" (Universal, G935U) upgrade or an "A" (ATT, G935A) upgrade. I am tired of ATT blotware and dont want to upgrade if this will take my phone back to stock ATT. Has anybody else got this OTA upgrade notification? Anyway to find out the image name?
Surely I am not the first one who upgraded to U (Universal firmware 935U) and got an OTA. Does anybody know the answer?
The updates you receive should be part of the universal firmware. Where did you get the Odin files for G935UUES8CRK2?
