Hello there, I'm the creator of the competition app Pebby - Baby Helper.
Pebby helps you take care of your baby. It allows you to easily set the last time the baby slept, ate or had its diaper changed. Glance down and check how long it has been since any of those events.
Pressing one of the three buttons starts or stops the timer for each of the three activities. The last time or time interval is shown besides each activity.
You can also view statistics and graphs of your baby's activities on your smartphone, on the configuration page.
Now that the competition is over and the first version of the app is released, I'll continue to listen to feedback and ideas for Pebby, to further improve it.
As this app is based on actual requests from moms, it's important for me to receive parents' inputs on how to improve it. Feel free to offer suggestions in this thread or via PM.
I hope you enjoy Pebby and be sure to tell all your friends with babies about it!

Project Roadmap
This is the project roadmap right now:
Create barebones project with app name and icon
Display button icons
React to feeding and diaper change buttons and save their times
React to sleeping button and save its times (start and end)
Persist time data locally for future app executions
Experiment with Action Bar to conserve screen real estate
Explore phone-side persistence and graphs display with Javascript, prepare JS Bundling
App config page with activity graphs on phone
Show 'X time ago' for each of the activities
Reliability improvements / tests
Design store assets
Future work:
Offer a way to register activities for twins

Here's a first draft screenshot:

Progress Report
The project is going along nicely, with the basic draft layout already done.
The app already has a menu icon and can be used to track the last feeding and diaper change times.
Next steps are to implement the sleeping times and save the information between app executions!

After some more development time, here's where Pebby is:
I've implemented the sleeping times, the time values persistence and redesigned the icons as an action bar to free up some much needed screen real estate.
Bonus points for automatically supporting buttons' pressed state now (because of the action bar, nifty little layer).
The absolute basic functionality of the app is now done, but it's time to start considering the storage and display of graphs: iOS apps require some time after bundling the working Javascript, which I'll need to implement the remaining features.

No screenshot today because the work so far has been mainly behind the scenes:
Communication between watch-phone
Storage of all values on phone, along with latest values on watch
Barebones configuration page
Communication between phone and configurations page
Ability to reset values history and start from scratch
App submission to the Pebble Store with Javascript bundling for iOS

And we're starting to see some graphs here!

The challenge end date is closing in and the app finally displays fuzzy "X time ago" texts.
I'm going to use the time that's left to essentially debug the app and make it more reliable in cases where the phone becomes disconnected from the watch as well as design the required store assets.

App released!
Check the first post for all the goodies, and thanks for following along!

Just wondering if this will work with a Pebble Time Round...? And, if not, can you create a "round" version??

I didn't do anything specific for the round Pebbles. A number of fixes and improvements are planned for the future, including upgrading the app to use the new SDKs and correctly drawing on second and third generation devices but unfortunately I haven't had the time to do it. So it's not forgotten but I can't promise dates right now.
If you do end up testing it on Pebble Time Round can you please report how it shows right now?
Thanks

Facade is a simple app that brings your social circles together under one platform!
Screenshots
WHY I NEED IT?
How many times your find yourself in a situation when you need to post same status update 4 times? or upload same picture 4 times? One for Facebook/ One for Twitter/ One for Sina Weibo (for Chinese users) / One for LinkedIn (Business related)
Sooner or later, two possible outcomes:
1. You spend your day updating your social life and the fun thing becomes painful
2. You give up one circle. say, twitter. And your high school friends on twitter complains.
With Facade, you can manage all your social status update with a simple click of button. You can simple tap on the icons to choose this message goes to which network (facebook/twitter update, or everything update).
You can also, pull all statuses update from all social circles into one place and view them, like them, retweet them or comment them.
Facade DOES NOT requires you install those apps like others do.
Facade DOES NOT separate your social updates like others do.
WHAT ARE KNOWN ISSUES
This is alpha built. Sorry about the rough edges:
1. The settings UI is pretty ugly. And please only enter numerical numbers in the options. (I know it is a simple fix and I expect to clear it tonight)
2. After commenting your facebook update, the texts are not cleared (so they stayed there) , nor there is a feedback message telling you the posting is successful or not
3. It takes about 30 seconds initially to have your status pulled from the social sites, which has no UI message to tell the users. The user may click reload button but nothing come out in first 30 seconds are they log into the social sites.
But it will populate in about 30 seconds - 45 seconds depending on network speed. I need to add interactive message to let user wait a bit.
4. the full picture is rendered too small. You can click to view the full picture but still, the default full picture in each status is too small.
WHAT FEATURES WILL BE ADDED?
New features and bug fixes are happening on a daily basis. Currently I am planning
> Add Facebook "Like" button
> Add fun Smileys to make user's posting experience much better.
> Add System wide sharing to Facade option so that you can share anything to
Facade (currently only pictures)
> Make the UI more fun and cool and usable.
> Make it more efficient , less power consuming.
WHAT DOES THE DEV NEED
1. your support! Simply be feedback to me is enough
2. your testing! Please, if you don't mind, whenever it crashes, please use Google's reporting to send me an email about the crash. No personal information is logged.
3. your feedback in general! New Features! Bug reports (either here or through google crash reporting)

Here To There is an application that will tell you how long it will take you to get to a particular destination. It will take in to account traffic conditions that can affect how long it will take. With the API I am currently working with you will be able to choose your routing type (fastest or shortest) and transportation mode (Car, Truck, Pedestrian).
So a little about myself. I originally backed the Pebble kickstarter and bought the Pebble watch in grey. Once I got it I had to create my own app. So I create the Weather app for pebble. It is currently being used by quite a few people all over the world. So I thought it was about time to create something else. I saw XDA was hosting a contest and thought that this was the kick in the pants I needed to really get going on one. So after a night of brainstorming, I came up with the app "Here To There". I always like being able to know how long it will take for me to get to certain destinations with traffic. I was constantly pulling out my phone and opening up Google Maps to route my destination just to find out how long it will take me to get there. Wouldn't it be easier to have that information delivered to my watch? So with my idea in hand, I entered the XDA Pebble Developer Contest and was in the top 20 picked to build the app. I have received the watch a couple of days ago and have been working on coding the app and coming up with more ideas to make it a little better. Below you can see my progress and feel free to make suggestions by leaving a comment.

Things to do
Choose Traffic API (Must be free) http://developer.here.com but also looking at http://www.mapquestapi.com/
Choose Configuration Map API (Must be free) Google Maps API
Build watch app concept (This is to see if it is even possible) I have early alpha builds working independently of configuration page. Locations are hard coded into watch.
Build configuration screen (This is where you input your location details) Configuration page is built
Merge configuration page with watch app.
Debug, debug, debug
Decide final watch screen layout.
Add timer to status screen to refresh every 5 minutes. (Configurable).
Add a processing screen between location and status screen. Just to make it look better.

09/03/2014 - Source Code Repository https://github.com/bengalaviz/HereToThere
08/17/2014 - Added new screen shot of status screen.
08/14/2014 - Added some screen shots of the configuration page.
Working Alpha build!
So I finally have a working application. Been testing and finding bugs. Soon I can push a beta build out and have people start testing and submitting bugs. There are a few more things I want to add and I have update my list above with them. Let me know what you think of the status screen. I want to make sure that I have a status screen that makes sense.

Working Beta build
So I finally have my watch app in a beta build. I have been working on it for a while and finally decided on the watch layout. There are only 2 screens with this watch app. Nothing complicated. First a list of your saved locations and the time to your location with some other information. I do need to finish the ability to choose routing type and transport mode. Trying to decide if this should be done on the watch or the configuration screen. Right now I am leaning towards having it on the configuration page.
Here is a short video I took at work to give you an idea. Sorry for the cheesy music. I used iMovie on my iphone to make it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsSxKeZRA7o
Can't wait for this. How many items can you have on the location list on the watch app? Do you have a beta version available, I would love to test it.

Right now the limit for locations is 5. As you can guess, the return URL string from the configuration page to the pebble app can be very long as some of the long/lat coordinates are very long. I was hoping to make it dynamic so that you can have as many as you want but this may force me to work on the configuration back end to maybe store the location information on my server with the pebble ID. That way I wouldn't have to pass any location data back to the watch. It would be saved to a database. Maybe a version 2 option?
Initial Beta Release
So I am ready for some testers. Here is my first Beta release of Here To There. No companion app required. Try it out and let me know what you think. If you have any issues with the application please make a post here. Thanks!
Moved download link to first post.
Looks awesome man. Grabbed the BETA and I'll try to put some time into working with it today.
Made some change to configuration page to fix an andriod issue. Download in first post above.
New Beta Release
Made some changes to the output screen. Added some separation and an inverted layer to the location. Download in first post.

Project Details
'(b)orn (a)gain (s)imon with (h)ands', or 'bash' for short, is a watchapp game for the Pebble inspired by Simon the game.
Basically, the objective of the game is to input the sequence of commands shown on the screen of your Pebble. You start off with one command and after every successful round, 1 or 2 commands are added to the sequence. Commands include pressing one or a combination of the three buttons on the Pebble, and a "shake!" command (hence the 'h' in bash).
If you are looking for a short game (or long, if you have great memory) on the go, or feel like testing your memory, you might want to try out this watchapp

- Begin - create a new repository for this game on GitHub and start with the basics (creating menus)
- Implementation of core parts of the game (sequence generation, sequence reset, game-pause system [still thinking of whether to do this or not], score calculation
As time goes by, I will be updating the dates... however the general agenda will be as follows (incomplete):
- Add & improve shake command recognition
- Add multiple difficulty levels (this is to enable/disable certain commands)
- Add ability to have scores for each difficulty

Progress History
8/14 - Posted some screenshots, and just spending some time on design
8/17 - Currently have the menu screen so far. Unfortunately, I will be gone for the next 3 days, so my timeline will be delayed a little (which should not be a problem).
...
9/05 - Currently posted some screenshots and the .pbw. I will later come home and upload it to the Pebble app store.
Hello guys,
Sorry that I've been away since... the beginning of the competition but I'm here on the last day to report on what has been finished / not finished.
Basically, the game is done however multiple difficulty levels (and therefore multiple scores) have not been implemented yet.
Although they won't be made in time for the competition, I do have plans to complete / continue to work on this game after the competition
Currently, I posted some screens, along with the .pbw file for anybody that would like to try.
After coming home from work later in the day, I will finalize everything in terms of submitting to the Pebble app store and getting my GitHub linked here.
Edit: If you do try out the watchapp, remember to wait until you feel a little vibration (for the shake commands) indicating that the shake was registered. Otherwise you'll lose!
I realized how much battery the vibration would use... hence, I will display the vibration status on the screen instead

[COMPETITION] PebbleWear - A homescreen replacement bringing powerful notifications
Alpha Release:
Well, this could have gone a lot better. This app ended up being a larger project than I initially imagined and was filled with bugs that were hard to track down. I'm releasing a limited version that only displays notifications (no interaction) so I can release something mostly functional. This is a project that I really want to see finished, so my work on it will not be stopping.
Either way it's 4am here. So I need to sleep.

With Pebble Wear your notifications are always accessible right below the watch face. Notifications are mirrored exactly as they appear on your phone and are shown as a list of cards packed with glanceable information. (Text, images and icons)
Notifications are sorted by priority and only vibrate if they would on your phone.
The functionality doesn't end there, by pressing the back button you can dismiss a notification (also dismissing it from your phone) and by pressing the select button you can view additional pages and even trigger actions on the notification.
Core Functionality:
Version 1 will have at least the following functionality:
Basic digital watchface
Notifications mirrored
Images
Icons
Dismiss
Actions
Support Android 4.4+
Future Functionality:
Possible future functionality:
Customisable watchface
Notification Pages
Specific Android Wear notification functionality (eg quick reply actions, extra notification pages)
Expandable notifications
Support Android 4.3 (if in demand)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've made substantial progress since starting development.
This is my first time working with Android and many of the Pebble SDK features so I found it helpful to develop small test apps to understand individual features. This has been very informative but has probably slowed down development.
Either way I have the following sorted:
--Watch App UI--
Memory management (how much I will store on the watch)
Binary image manipulation
Animations
--Test Notification App--
App Messages (the following data is sent to and displayed on watch)
Notification text
Notification icons
Notification images
Image dithering (surprising simple algorithm, but very effective)
I now need to combine my test UI with my notification sending which will give me an early usable version. After that, notification actions, and then finally add a tutorial/setup guide to the Android App.
seems promising!
not working so good to my phone and pebble (loading on every notification) but I want to keep a look on the development
Great concept
Great concept. I didn't know this was possible!
Consider posting the full Android project source onto GitHub so we can fork.
This looks awesome
Woops, ignore this
uhm,...is this project still active? Would be great.
Sorry about the delay. I've decided to redesign it to better fit the Pebble rather than just being a port of Android Wear. I'll still be supporting the same feature set except for the watchface. I'll hopefully have something done by the end of the year.
I've been watching this and haven't heard anything lately. Any word? @RichardGG

Thanks for your interest. I've had a bit of a software development dry spell but I want to get back into it ASAP. This is a big project and I'll be basically starting again from scratch so unfortunately, if I do continue, it won't be done until later this year. I'll keep this thread updated on any progress I make.
Good luck

How Tasker Can Make You More Productive

How Tasker Can Make You More Productive
Have you taken a look at Tasker and thought "Eh this isn't for me.." Well if so then that would make you a liar. Tasker is for anyone and everyone that wants to improve the way that they use their Android device. First thing you should know is that most of those mods you flash to get special features like Tap2Wake, Active Display, Silent mode when faced down and others are all possible with Tasker. You don't even need to root your device! So right there you're saving time and happiness. Let's take a look at all of the best ways that Tasker can make you more productive like a business man with a briefcase.
Automate SMS
Everyday I have to go pickup my stupid idiot brother from work. Once I'm there I have to fumble around with my phone as I spill hot coffee all over myself so I can text him that I've arrived. Well no more! I can automate an outgoing sms based on my location. So this idea is simple. I set a new profile based on location. I chose the GPS location of where my brother works. The action I attach to that location will be sending an sms to my brothers phone number that says "Here." Now the text will be sent automatically as soon as I pull into the parking lot.
{

}
The same idea can be applied to locations on the road. So if I'm in route to my meet my brother at his work, I can program a text to be sent that says "I'll be there in 15 minutes" once I reach a specific location.
You can also schedule texts to be sent out based on date and time. Never forget about Mothers Day again and just tell your phone to text your Mom "Happy Mothers Day! I'll never forget about you!" on whatever day Mothers Day is on. Who knows.
Keep Track Of Time
Here's a pretty nifty one that some people are using. You can keep better track of time as it passes, by setting your phone to vibrate every 30 minutes.
Of course you can use this in anyway that you please. Maybe you set it to vibrate every 10 minutes from 8:00am - 9:00am every morning as you get ready for work. It's a simple task that can be used for many different things.
Create context-based voice reminders
Well here is a good idea. You can set voice reminders based on the time and date. At the end of every month you can have your phone yell at you about paying your bills.
So for a task like this to run, you'd create a new profile where the context is the date and the event is the reminder. This is another simple but very useful task.
Sensor Events
This is my favorite type of task to run. You can assign any type of task to run when it's triggered by a sensor. For example we can tell Tasker to launch Chrome when you shake your device. You can even program how sensitive the shake trigger will be and how long it lasts. But launching an app is just one thing you can do with it. You can also tell it to shut your screen off, send a text, make a call, kill a specific app and all kinds of nice things.
These examples are pretty bare bone but it's just to get you started. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be creating much more elaborate tasks that can do amazing things to help you be a more productive person.
Awesome stuff really like the alarm one
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Thank you for profiles.
You can use the "test app" feature in the application task section, and test against the Calendar app to pull data from it. Then you can manipulate this however you want, for example, when I dismiss my alarm my phone reads out my calendar events for the day. I will post a guide later today on how to do this.
I use a couple of profiles for productivity. The first is what I call active mode, which is a user created variable. If I'm in active mode and try to go on non productive apps such as a game or social media my phone tells me I'm in active mode and should do some work before switching back to my launcher home screen. I also have some activity tracking profiles which log when I start and finish something before uploading the information to a Google spread sheet.
