[Q] No signal from Sprint? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I recently rooted my Sprint HTC One M7, as well as my Samsung Mega SPH-L600. My goal was to get the phones unlocked to accept GSM sims. Both phones continue to show invalid sim no matter what. But I could switch the preferred network to CDMA and pick up the Sprint signal without any hassle. At some point, I had lost the Sprint signal. I have tried what seems like everything. Switching the network types. Turning roaming on and off. Switching sims. Installing different custom ROMS. Including CM10.1 in order to try switching from NV to RUIM. That did nothing. The weird thing is once in a while I will pick up the phone and see bars. And its the Sprint network. But a few seconds later, it will X out again. Before, I constantly had a signal full of bars, with a little triangle above it.
I would normally wonder if maybe a setting was changed. But why would this affect both of my distinctly different phones? Does Sprint block you if your phone is tampered? Or is it possible that if your service stays in roam that they will eventually block you? Just trying to find some answers here.
Thanks.

NV/RUIM might've messed things up. Try changing it back to what it was before.
The only other answer I can think of is that where you are atm, Sprint doesn't have good service. Try moving the phones outside (or somewhere else).

Unlocked HTC One Having AT&T LTE Issues

Hey everyone I just bought an unlocked HTC One and switched the SIM card from my iPhone 5 into the new phone. I unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, and installed ARHD Sense version and I am having problems with the phone getting LTE. No matter where I am, I am unable to acquire LTE on the phone. Even in places where I know for sure that it has LTE (due to getting it previously on my iPhone) I'm stuck on HSPA+. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? Faulty device maybe? Would rather not have to send the phone back. I have tried also changing the APN, which changed nothing.

Do you have LTE turned on? You should be on LTE/GSM/WDCMA under Network Mode in settings. Wording may very depending on your ROM.
Yeah I have Lte enabled, which is why I'm confused as to why lte is not working.

My best guess... Consider calling AT&T and switching off the iPhone data plan to a "smartphone" data plan. I don't know the differences between the 2 but it could be effecting your ability to connect to lte from the one.

Hmm I've been considering it just I have seen other people just pop their iPhone 5 SIM into an unlocked/developer edition HTC One and have full LTE connectivity, and not to mention the fact that dealing with AT&T is a pain.

I know what ya mean... You could also try flashing at&ts latest radio... It probably only really effects AT&T based roms but it's supposed to open up some new lte bands. I used the link from post 95. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325564&page=10 just make sure you grab the right one installing the one for cm 10 on a sense Rom will mess up your signal strength because it replaces some ril files while flashing the radio. It's a shot in the dark but wont hurt to try.

That actually used to be a really common problem, but they seem to use the same data plans for all smartphones now. Still, might be worth a try.

Thanks will try that out soon. Also, to the person above, tried flashing an AT&T radio, which didn't help anything, but was worth the shot. Thanks for the help guys.
EDIT: So tried out switching it to LTE Only and it wouldn't let the setting stick. It would automatically change the preferred network type back to what it was whenever selecting LTE Only. Also, the LTE, CDMA option did not change anything. Again thanks for the help, I'm just going to send it back and hope for the best with a new device.

[Q] AT&T 3G signal fluctuates

Just curious on other peoples opinion/theory.
So while using my HTC One on AT&T the 3G signal jumps around. I assume its two towers one obviously being farther away and the phone doesn't seem to stick with the one that's closer. So if i force the phone to connect to WCDMA (3G/HSPA) no celluar service works on the device. Eventually I switch it back to 2G and then it starts receiving calls/sms etc. I have been to locations in the area where there are full bars of 3G constantly yet the phone fails to connect properly eventually I give up and switch to 2G at some points the phone drops down to GPRS.
On an international HTC 8X it maintains a strong connection to 3G/H+ using the same simcard. Only thing that has changed is the actual device. I've tried literally all the radios available for the HTC one and all have the same result.
If using a T-Mobile simcard and I go into an area that has been refarmed I pick their 3G/H+ just fine.
So it's not the simcard and its not the phone. I've called AT&T and all they do is make me turn off the phone while they resend the signal from the tower (so they say) then thats when the phones sticks to 3G and functions correctly but eventually it stops working and returns to how it was.
Right now AT&T offers the stronger call/sms coverage while T-Mobile doesn't so I'd rather stick with AT&T even if they suck.
So my question is.
Anyone else experiencing or has had this issue before on the HTC one or another device? If those who have had this was it resolved?
Was it a simple device exchange or were you bumped up the change of tech support eventually reaching some one who knew how to fix the issue or atlease gave more then "Please turn the device on/off, it will fix all your problems"

[Q] Shows LTE, only works for a few minutes.

My phone used to work great on LTE, but one day it showed the LTE icon, but I couldn't get it to work. If I toggle airplane mode, then wait for LTE to connect it will work for a few minutes, but then go back to showing the LTE icon but not transferring any data. The phone works fine on cdma only, but I want the strong LTE I used to have. I've been dealing with it for over a month, and other people on sprint with different phones have strong LTE that works fine. I have updated the radio, tried AOSP and sense roms, updated radios, removed and inserted the sim card, flashed an RUU back to completely stock, updated profile and PRL.
On sense roms, I would occasionally get the message "Unable to establish a wireless data connection. LTE: EMM-65535, EHRPD: 65535"
Very frustrating, as 3g speeds in my area are awful, and everyone around me can take advantage of the faster LTE signal. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution, or is it a hardware issue?

Do you expericne this everywhere, or just in certain places? Are you "side by side" (i.e. in the same area) with your colleagues who have Sprint when they get LTE and you don't?
After nearly a year of strong LTE at our house, we rarely get LTE now and mostly 3G. This started about three months ago. When it first started, I only had an EVO 4G LTE, but we have also since gotten a One, and both phones behave the same. We live within 500 yards on the west side of the tower, according to SignalCheckPro. In fact, I can go outside and see the tower. When we do get LTE, SCP will sometimes indicate that the phone is connected to a tower futher away. If the phones have been inactive for awhile, they will initially show 4G, but quickly switch to 3G if we try any type network access (i.e. web, email, etc). If we go to the east side of that tower, we get strong LTE and 5-10 Mbps transfer speeds on both phones.
I reported this to Sprint a couple of months ago, and got a response that they were doing another phase of upgrades on that particular tower. I reported it again a couple of weeks ago, but got no response. There is a major retail business street on the east side of the tower, so Sprint may have re-focused the signal on the business corridor. I have also noted a couple of other towers in other areas of the city where I work that have this same highly directional behavior, and unfortnately, the places where I have to be are on the wrong side of the towers.
So, you could very well have a phone hardware issue, but it could also be Sprint. If you check other fourms, you will find similar reports of areas losing LTE after having it for some time. Which is why I asked if you can get LTE in some places, and not others. You might consider getting SignalCheckPro to see where you are in relation to the towers. IMO, Sprint's LTE network seems to be messed up in many places.

Yes, most my friends have sprint Iphone 5c's and a few android LTE Phones and live in my area. they all have strong LTE. I'm pretty sure it is a sim card/hardware issue because my phone has been completely stock and unrooted for about 2 weeks now, and the LTE Only worked for the first day. Unfortunately I got the phone on the day it was launched, so my warranty is gone. Unless there is some trick to get it to stay connected. :crying:

Yes I tried updating those, and updating the radios. Just wondering, when it was new it would always say the sim card was removed when it really wasn't. Is it possible that it has a faulty sim card? I'm pretty sure the sim card is only used for LTE.

I just reset the network to factory settings, I'll try and see if it stays connected tomorrow when I go back into town where it's strong. The sim card has been removed and seems to be clean. I can't be the only one having this problem, can I?

OnePlus 3T On Verizon

So I was bored and wanted to play around and try to get this to work. So far I have been successful to get data text and mms working on 3G. Now I have noticed that when I boot the phone that it connects to LTE with a strong signal then it reconnects back to 3G its almost like its possible but something it blocking it. Has anyone had success getting further?
UPDATE: I have gotten FULL LTE on Verizon working. Currently trying to figure out a way to allow CDMA as well for calls
Ya good luck I had same issue as you . Talk text 3g working good. Or LTE only working .Never could figure out how to get them both going
Yea I know after hours of messing around lol and two sim cards wasn't satisfying enough I like the phone enough to jump off big red to try T-Mobile. I honestly like this phone better then my Pixel XL
I ditched my Verizon unlimited data plan for cricket unlimited and have no regrets. Best choice I ever made

It won't work it's one or the other. You are wasting your time
The city I live In has Verizon's xlte network and if you upgrade to advanced Calling then voice calls and messages all use 4g LTE data instead of CDMA, so I would only need LTE data to work, I was able to get the 1+1 to get Verizon's signal but after 5 mins they noticed and intentionally blocked me off their Network a message popped up on the 1+1 saying I had been blocked

You have to add VoLTE on the phone AND with the carrier. you did both of these options, and t hen were blocked? Did you ever call and ask "why?"?

Just curious how you have "LTE" activated on the phone. I turned on "only LTE", but I get absolutely nothing. I am only interested in LTE on t he phone, I do not need to make voice calls of SMS
Force LTE provisioning
I know that people had the same issue on the ZTE axon 7 but we're able to force LTE provisioning by going into the dialer and dialing *#*#4636#*#*. This brings up a hidden test menu and under phone information there is a switch for LTE provisioning. It takes a few tries but eventually sticks on the axon. Can someone try this on the one plus phones to see if it works?
I know this has been rehashed many times, but I thought I'd share a my experiences of how to make the 3T usable on Verizon. Main reason I have the 3T is dual SIM and OEM bootloader unlock. Fantastic device. Switched from Verizon to AT&T just for the phone. The problem is my work uses Verizon. I refuse to carry two phones. So what I've done to solve this is bought the GravityBox app, which has a feature that allows, (among many things!) you to add a custom quick setting shortcut for Network Mode. It lets you decide which SIM the setting applies to, as well as any network modes to cycle through when pressing the shortcut. I of course pick the Verizon SIM. And only select two network modes: 1 CDMA only and 2 LTE only. CDMA only allows calls, text and 2G to work perfectly. When a sending or receiving a MMS on Verizon SIM, or needing to use Verizon LTE, I toggle to Verizon LTE only. This does kick AT&T offline for some reason, but beings that I rarely need to use Verizon data, it's not that big of deal.

Question Data not connecting on ATT since "3G switchoff"

So on Monday ATT decided to deactivate my sim card because they believe my phone is incompatible with their network now. All my bars went to 0 with an x on it and I couldn't do anything on the phone. I went to an ATT store, got them to give me a new activated sim and I put it in my phone and all my bars came back.
My phone says VoLTE again too by the signal bar area. I also tested a text and it went through fine. I received a phone call and while it works fine, it sounds like junk now. Like it is no longer actually using VoLTE like it always has. My phone doesnt seem to have any data however, when it should have LTE just fine. I also cannot make any calls, even though it says VoLTE on the phone, it just re-routes to ATT customer service instead of going through with the call.
When I go into the network area in settings it says no IP address either. I looked and my APN is set to nxtgenphone, Preferred Network Type selected on LTE. Before ATT deactivated my sim card LTE has always worked fine, and LTE should still work fine. It is only the 3G network being shut down. Also given the fact I have the VoLTE icon the phone is apparently connecting somewhat to an LTE network.
So does anyone know how to fix settings to get data working again? Is it just an APN that needs to change? What is everyone else doing with the network shutdown and has anyone else had issues like this?
I had the exact same issue, your issue is in fact APN settings I'm having them as well. Try deleting your current APN and putting in a new one. Once I got a new sim my APN reset I could call but no data and no text. I have half of the APN information in place and have data and basic text, but once I input the MMS port the APN data disappears still trying to figure that out. Not sure if anything I typed is helpful but at least you know your not alone with a mi11 on ATT and it can work

Thanks for the reply. I tried deleting the MMS port and also the proxy just now and data didnt come back. I will try searching around for more APN info for how phones are supposed to connect now and see if I can find anything.
It looks like from what I could find that it is due to an IMEI whitelist ATT has, blocking data connection on any device not in their whitelist. The solution seems to be to root the phone and change your IMEI to a whitelisted model.
While my phone is rooted my IMEI is not cloned I definitely would not share my IMEI with ATT. When I got my sim card yesterday I had the attendant activate but I did not provide my phone so he did not get the IMEI from my phone. If you got a sim and they input your IMEI that could be a problem possibly. Just a suggestion to try and get a sim activated at a store without your phone.
I had also heard that most ATT MVNOs were not having the device whitelist forced on them yet, so I went and tried 2 different ones yesterday. Both failed to get the phone working on their network with their sims.
Before I went through the hassle of rooting (and most likely losing payments) I tried ATT again anyway. I used their online customer service chat and the first person I chatted with said he could help me with the lte data problem and the IMEI issue. I was skeptical, but he actually did fix it all up. He just needed my sim ICCID and my phones IMEI1 and he submitted the info to their backend people for adding to their system. It took almost an hour and a half for it to get added, but overall it was a pretty painless process and I was browing the web most of the time while waiting in chat. I now have LTE data again, VoLTE again, and "5G" too (which ATT 5G is really just one or two more features than normal LTE and is no faster in speed and uses LTE data bands). I attached a screenshot showing the data and VoLTE working on my phone. The first signal is ATT, the second is TMobile (which has always worked and never had an issue, their 3G network shutdown is going on for another 4-5 months)

Happy you are back up and running and I'm glad that you found someone at ATT to do the fairly easy work of getting your IMEI cleared. Lots of people have been worried about devices not working on ATT because of this whitelist issue glad to see there are workarounds just wish ATT didn't make it so convoluted.
