I've ran 4 kk roms (the 3 cm & pac, all 4.4.4) and my tp won't properly charge. When i unplug the charger or reboot, the battery icon shows as charging. Under settings - > battery it shows as charging, as well as in the "better battery stats" app. During this point the tp doesn't actually charge.
I'm using the factory cable and charger. I've also tried changing it on a tombstone and the same thing happens.
It's been this way since i first instead kk, comings from 4.2.2. I used the tp toolbox, doing a full wipe. I also charged battery past 100 percent and flashed the a6 firmware.
This only happens on kk, I'm running a 4.3.1 rom now and it charges fine.
Thanks

I've had this happen numerous times, where the battery charging status seems to get reversed. It seems to happen if you boot up the TP when it's connected to a pc (and maybe the charger). The only fix I was able to make work was a complete factory data reset and reflash. Since I stopped booting connected to anything, it seems to have stopped.

Thanks, I'll try that. For me, i wasn't connected to either charget when I rebooted the tp.
Seems strange that it seems to be an issue with just kk (not 4.3) and my tp that isn't affecting others.

Why is the wall charger and or the computer not charging the TP fast enough?
*I used HP's TP cable
First, I turn off the device and fully charge. Takes about 3-5 hours for me, check using webOS. Leave it for another hour or so just to make sure. Then boot android and wipe battery stats. If that doesn't help you, try to figure out what's using your battery using watchdog or something.
Even though I don't believe wiping stats actually does anything to improve battery life, I think that it helps android system read voltage/current properly. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno.
There's a glitch that sometimes happens, where when in Android, it sets your charging circuit to use a trickle charge mode, even when not using a non-HP charger. It happens, but nobody can really explain how.
What you do is reboot it into WebOS, plug it in, let it charge for 5-10 mins, then reboot into Android, and it should fix it.
This happens to me also with ICS roms. It's very frustrating. I haven't tried any of these methods though, really. I just figured that something was wrong with the rom. Anyone have a workaround for this besides what was said here?
Have tried two different roms, (Paranoid ics and JB)...both with full wipe.
Have media scanner disabled.
Its the charger I think, same thing happens with mine with the stock charger.
But when I use my wifes galaxy s 2 charger it charges up no problem and twice as fast.
Charge It to full continously and then Wipe battery stats under the advanced menu of Recovery. Now reboot system and use your phone until your phone gets drained completely. Now charge it again to full continuously. It will be solved. If its a hardware fault you have to check with your charger. Replace it and see if it will solved
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Thanks
I have the same problem, but on stock ICS. What does the suggested method really do?
it recallibrates the battery... or it could just be a charger fault not able to supply enof current
might want to read this about battery calibrationHERE
If your phone is doing this then it is using more charge than receiving. Make sure you use a proper charger (not cheap one or usb) and problem should stop.

Hey I am using CM10.1 with it's stock kernel. I've been facing this problem suddenly too. The battery drains while charging. I tried using different cables and chargers, Hell! I bought a new battery from the Samsung store and tried it too. I tried factory resetting, wiping cache and all too, still nothing. Could you help me out in this? Thanks in advance.
Hello All,
I am facing a strange issue but something that has become a nuisance and made my Note unusable.
I was happily running Ultimate JB 4.1.2 v5.1 when I downloaded something related to green them of sysui( name not entirely sure)
from the OTA update section in ultimate ROM and installed throught CWM.
After the installation, suddenly I found that my battery is not charging.
I connected through wall charger and even tried chargin through USB from my laptop. Nothing worked.
I flashed again with V5.1, then V5 and even Rocket Rom V12 several times while clearing the battery stat as well.
Once it worked when the battery started showing as getting charged,
but then USB mass storage was not being shown when I connected the phone through USB to my laptop.
So I flashed again. Finally after several attempts of flashing different Roms (All JB ultimate V5 and 5.1 and RRV12),
my battery started to get charged.
And now, yet again, for no change made to my Note, I have this problem appearing all of a sudden.
Battery not charging and now it has discharged completely. It either goes into boot loop or doesnt start at all.
USB storage hasnt worked since the problem started with the battery charging.
I am not sure what the problem is, but very unlikely problem with ROM.
I flashed the ROMs properly, doing factory reset, clearing Dalvik case, formatting /system, /preload etc.
There is no problem with the charger cable, for the battery gets heated even when my phone is off, but I see no battery charging signs.
any help please? Anyone?
I guess the problem is not related to the rom..its just a coincidence
Try with another charger and battery of ur friends
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
also try an official Samsung rom ICS or GB
I was facing the similar issue, but in my case when the battery was 10% i flashed cm9.1 stable rom without gapps or anything, and then the phone booted up and the battery was charging, (very slowly at first and then normal).
you could also try replacing the battery. I had a similar problem a few months back and when i checked the battery, it was already bloated so i repalced it. After replacing the battery, it went back to normal
I'm running a cm9 nightly, and its been running flawlessly since Christmas when we updated it. Now I'm having charging issues. I plugin the charger and everything is normal and the icon shows its charging, except it won't go up. I kept on the tp and kept it plugged in thinking it was just glitching. Well, it wasn't charging. It went dead, and when I plugged it in it wouldn't turn on, it did when I used my touchstone charger. Then, I plugged in my normal charger, and it says it is charging, but even if I unplug it it still says that. Its stuck on 94 too. I have rebooted several times. Please help me.
I still need help on this please.
if it dies compleatly and bricks. i made a stone age solution
do this only if nothing else works....

of if your still has power, flash another Rom Asap. Like Schizoid even tho it faild me once.. it still is my fav use the CM10 Version
Or Stock Cm10.1 Version.
hope i helped.
I have just bought an unlocked Xperia Z1 second-hand.
Seller said it sometimes goes out.
Model is C6903.
When it's on charger, phone doesn't go out. Strange thing is that it charges normally for about 6-7% regardless of the actual battery level, and after these few percentages it jumps to 100% even though some seconds ago it could have been at 17%.
This is strange in itself already, but wait.
When I get the phone off the charger, it acts normally. Battery starts discharging, the amount depends on the use.
After 6 minutes of 1080p Youtube, the battery is down to 92% from 100%. Well, it's not a good performance, but still it works.
And then, all of a sudden, it goes after around 8-10 minutes of battery time, no matter if I do something or not.
After going out, it is stuck in a bootloop, because it cannot sense enough charge in the battery to start. If i put it on charger, the bootloop remains. I have to do a hard reset using the red button next to the sim slot. And then, i put it on charger, offline charging starts, and it says around 55% battery. I start android (still on charger), and now it says 3% when booted into the system. After a restart (still on charger) it goes up to about 60%.
I don't really know what the problem can be. I have tested the issue several times, with sim in, without sim, with Sd in, without sd as well.
I have reflashed the original rom, tried 3 different versions (4.2.2 , 4.3 and 4.4.4), no use.
Tried different, custom kernels too, no use. Tried custom ROMs, no use.
Tried calibrating the battery with a program (deleted the batterystats.bin), no use.
Tried charging continously for 8+ hours, still the same happens.
I have tried different battery programs, they all said battery has good health (also Sony built-in test).
Battery programs said that while charging, battery is at 4.23V which is okay. When it's off charger, it slowly goes down from 4.2V to around 3.8V, and sometimes even below (the lowest I could see was 3.1V).
Battery specs: 3.8V and 3000mAh if it helps.
I think my battery could be defective, but it can also be the mobo. What should I do?
Have you tried a complete factory reset and or reflash of firmware?

I would have said to you to calibrate battery but you already did it...
So it must not be a software problem...Probably a hardware problem(I don't think the mo/bo has a problem but who knows ).Try sending it to service and probably they will replace your battery.
I don't think there is a major problem with your device
