remove your IMEI and serialno from your getvar all.
repost your getvar all correctly so we can see all the info: S-???? 5.16.???????
what firmware.zip are you using (link) and why? you don't need to flash firmware to get an OS on your phone...
fastboot flash zip Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.161.1.zip ---> this can not be flashed this way, must be flashed from a custom recovery, however it also looks like its not the right version. You getvar: 5.16.??? ---> and you are trying to flash a 2.24
You'll probably have to flash a custom rom

Remove the imei and serialno from your getvar all. Also, you have cutoff some important information on the getvar all, i.e., version bootloader, version main. Why don't you think you have an OS? What was the firmware version you were trying to install?
I think your are trying to install the older versions of your phone and that is why it is failing. You are S-ON so you can only install the same or higher versions of OS and firmware.

try adb push instead of adb sideload
Code:

then when the file is transferred (wait 5-10 min) install from twrp

First, hard reboot pressing the power and volume down buttons until you see the bootloader and then scroll through the options to hit "REBOOT" not "REBOOT BOOTLOADER" you'll probably boot into your rom after a couple of minutes but thats not a fix, it's just a way to use your phone for now.
Having no OS means you probably tried to flash a custom firmware or downgrade your FW but you can only do that while S-OFF
OR you where using a different kind of recovery like multirom or an old clockworkmod recovery or something, give us a little bit more info on what you where doing before you "lost" your OS and what recovery, what ROM and what you where hoping to accomplish just so we can see what went wrong. It's best when you need to do something to read the guide your using from top to bottom twice, most guides go through multiple posts not just the first to point out areas you might run into problems and things to avoid. I recently had a similar problem trying to remove multirom and reverting to stock, I was flashing the 1.57 FW with TWRP but after flashing ARHD 71.1 it still gave me "no OS installed", I reverted to stock using the RUU.zip install method with all partitions and FW and ROM to complete stock.

flash a custom recovery in ruu mode (packed in a firmware.zip) and use adb from recovery to unlock your bootloader or use the guru bootloader reset tool from recovery.
It is possible to root without open bootloader?
I dont know how to do that, can you give me a link to an instruction or can you give me instructions?
And I'm on 5.0.1 now, maybe this is could be important

Download the "bootlader reset tool" zip file and save it at root of your /sdcard
Download this firmware.zip file, its a custom firmware that I have made for your phone, it only include twrp recovery 2.6.3.3 and the correct android-info.txt that match your phone spec, so it will only flash twrp recovery. Save it in the same folder where you have adb.exe and fastboot.exe. With your phone booted in Android and usb debug enabled, open a command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder and do the commands posted below (see in blue)

what is your original cid number, because 11111111 wont be the original, you cant unlock the bootloader as you locked it with a custom recovery on there, and now the only way to get stock recovery on there or flash an RUU is to know your original cid or version main.

I removed my imei, thanks. I honestly thought this phone was S-OFF but I hadn't actually used it for much in over a year since I have a m8. Do you have any ideas of what I can do? my bootloader is now relocked and I can't seem to unlock it.
So i was able to flash a signed firmware onto my phone which for my carrier Bell Mobility, its 3.23.666.1. But now where can I go? i still can't seem to unlock the bootloader. any ideas?
my getvar info now.

I'm unable to check it just yet, but it's just a zip file, so make sure it contains recovery.img, also when you flash it, you will need to flash it twice as the first time is just a pre update, after that, check that you have stock recovery by selecting recovery from the bootlpader screen, you should be presented with a red exclamation mark, volume up and power to get the menu, select factory reset.
Now boot to the bootloader and get a new unlock token from HTC dev website, and try and unlock your bootloader, once done, you can then flash twrp recovery, and flash your stock backup, will post the link later, then reflash stock recovery and update, or try and get s-off with rumrunner before updating.

We need more info to help you.
Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (don't post imei/serialno)
Is your bootloader locked / unlocked / re-locked?
What ruu are you trying to flash exactly (file name + link)?

I think your firmwre is too old to flash this RUU. Have you tried to flash the ruu using your external sd card? Rename the ruu to PN071IMG.zip and save it at the root of your external sdcard and reboot in bootloader mode.
Otherwise you could try the 6.13.401.3 ruu posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159 and you should be able to flash the 7.17.401.5 after this one.

It's in the OP here http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
under "how to flash"
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934539737
not sure which version the above is, but there's also v3.0.9.2 here

but the first one should work fine for the M7

thank you , i will try it today :good:
Hey guys.
I was wondering if anyone could take some time and help figure out what's wrong with my Htc one!
So my new phone broke and so i went back to my One that i haven't used in ages.
Anyways it was alredy rooted with S-Off and first thing i was trying todo was to install TWRP and a new rom.
After i installed twrp and rebooted the phone and upon start i sent me directly in to the "power off + Volume down" menu and i tried to enter Recovery.
All i get is "Active cmdline overflow! (2169 Bytes)" then nothing more.
So i tried some fastboot commands and this is what i get from
Fastboot devices ÒÀü«/ë¥-1ý}ËÙ fastboot
I reckoning something is wrong here because the name has never shown like this before.
If i try adb devices i get nothing.
So i started to belive that maybe the cable was ****ed and now i almost tried 7 diffrent cables and all of them is giving me the same message.
I tried a diffrent computer, i tried in windows 10 and now im in Ubuntu 16.04 and still cant get adb to show the device.

What roms did you flashed (post a link) ? Active cmdline overflow is caused by a corrupted misc partition, most of the time because the user flashed a rom for another device than the m7. During the installation, the updater script of that rom flash images to wrong partitions (since all phone models have a different partition layout). Some partitions are unique to each m7 and if they get corrupted, a simple ruu flash will not solve your problem.
Your adb problem is most likely a driver issue. Make sure you have the latest drivers from HTC (those that are bundled with HTCSync) and try again. The only way out of this is to make p19 healthy again by following that guide you linked (if it was caused by an incompatible rom flash...waiting for your link).
Btw do not attempt to downgrade to hboot 1.44 if you're using windows 8/10 or you'll also loose fastboot connectivity.

Well as I want to remember it I don't think I have flashed a rom yet, I never got that far I just tried to flash twrp 2.8.4.0.
Do i even need drivers in Ubuntu ? I was under the influence that I didn't need any.

Well if I understand it right when I try to flash a RUU it just says unknown modelid and I think because it's corrupted or something. :/

No you don't, only on windows, sorry. ADB should work fine from twrp and no drivers required on ubuntu, adb will not work from the bootloader.
