Was trying to put my HTC One M7 back to stock to give to my mother-inlaw. I was planning on running an RUU on it, so I relocked the bootloader and ever since I can't seem to do anything with it. It will only boot into the bootloader. I can't seem to unlock it using htc dev now either. any ideas? Any help is appreciated.
This is some info.

what is your original cid number, because 11111111 wont be the original, you cant unlock the bootloader as you locked it with a custom recovery on there, and now the only way to get stock recovery on there or flash an RUU is to know your original cid or version main.

BM___001 would be my cid.
I've changed my CID back to stock. Now what did I need to do? I can't seem to find an RUU for Bell mobility anywhere.

I removed my imei, thanks. I honestly thought this phone was S-OFF but I hadn't actually used it for much in over a year since I have a m8. Do you have any ideas of what I can do? my bootloader is now relocked and I can't seem to unlock it.
So i was able to flash a signed firmware onto my phone which for my carrier Bell Mobility, its 3.23.666.1. But now where can I go? i still can't seem to unlock the bootloader. any ideas?

I'm unable to check it just yet, but it's just a zip file, so make sure it contains recovery.img, also when you flash it, you will need to flash it twice as the first time is just a pre update, after that, check that you have stock recovery by selecting recovery from the bootlpader screen, you should be presented with a red exclamation mark, volume up and power to get the menu, select factory reset.
Now boot to the bootloader and get a new unlock token from HTC dev website, and try and unlock your bootloader, once done, you can then flash twrp recovery, and flash your stock backup, will post the link later, then reflash stock recovery and update, or try and get s-off with rumrunner before updating.

Guys, absolute noob here, so please bear with me.
I have a European HTC One with HTC Sense, long time ago I loaded Cyanogen on it.
now I want to sell it, so I am trying to put Sense back.
first, I locked the phone with ./Fastboot oem Lock.
I downloaded the RUU for the stock, I got a ZIP instead of an exe because I do not have access to a windows machine (please dont tell me to create a VM because my Mac for some reason doesnt deal well with vmware/bootcamp. so I have to do this on OSX).
this is the RUU name:
RUU Zip M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.16_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted
so this is what I did:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RUU.zip (I had renamed the zip file for short).
this is the output:
ahmads-mac-mini:android ahmadshaheen$ ./fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
sending 'zip' (1010240 KB)...
OKAY [ 42.967s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 143.829s
I tried doing it more than ten times, rebooted the mac, the phone, no result, same error. I thought this error has to do with the version, the rom version is exactly the same as the mainver on the phone.
here's a getvar all output:
ahmads-mac-mini:android ahmadshaheen$ ./fastboot getvar mainver

Hi,
First of all, edit your post and remove imei numbers from:
(bootloader) imei:
And
(bootloader) serialno:
Now, try this:
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
But you must do s-off to totally revert back to stock without tempered flags or relocked.
I've had a look around and read other topics on this, but none have seemed to help me. I was in the middle of returning my HTC One back to stock, all was good until I did an OTA update. Now I keep getting "active cmdline overflow! (1090 bytes)"
I can't get back into RUU by "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
I can't access Recovery.

Remove your serial number and your IMEI number from your original post like it did in the quote above, its dangerous to post it.
then see here for your problem and a fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
copy and paste the dd commands to be safe, if you make a mistake with the command or code then its bye bye phone.
ah thanks for that.
I've tried to flash a new recovery, but I still can't boot into it.

you HAVE TO flash that modified recovery in the thread I linked, its the only one that will work.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but that was the recovery I flashed. Yet it still reboots to the bootloader instead.

Oh sorry, my bad, reading through the thread, its states you need to downgrade your HBOOT, but ill just double check that, you are s-off so shouldn't be a problem.
it's proving tricky.
I've downloaded the hboot, when I get an error.. FAILED <remote: not allowed>
yup, seems the problem is with HBOOT 1.55 and upwards, a lot of people on there are just downgrading there HBOOT to 1.44 then the recovery works, however, if you decided to do this you need to be aware that windows 8 upwards will no longer detect your phone, you must use windows 7 or Ubuntu.
I'm using Window 7 Professional 64-bit.
Can you point me in the right direction on how to correctly downgrade? I tried to dowgrade to 1.44 and got this.

what file are you trying to flash and using which command?
filesize looks like the fw_hboot_zip
did you fastboot oem rebootRUU first?
Can someone help me out?
I'm trying to either A.) return to stock then upgrade OTA to the latest firmware or B.) Flash said firmware from fastboot. However the RUU (Sprint_HTC_One_M8_3.30.654.2_RUU.zip) I tried from here failed the signature check and now my device will only boot into the bootloader.
Heres my device info.

I have tried that via fastboot. Is there something I have to do other than 'fastboot oem rebootRUU && flash zip firmware.zip' from the RUU?

M7_WLS = Sprint so use a sprint RUU
your bootloop issue is probably because you are trying to flash GSM rom not compatible with the sprint variant.

htc1guru.com but this site is currently down
(link removed)
save it in the same folder where you have fastboot and adb on your computer, rename it ruu "ruu.zip" to make it easier in the command prompt
open a command prompt from that folder (or cd to that folder)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
Do not do what said above if your computer is running windows 8. Must be done using Win7, Linux or MacOS.

Do not relock the bootloader, your phone is s-off so relocking the bootloader is not needed. Better to leave it unlocked.

We need more info to help you.
Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (don't post imei/serialno)
Is your bootloader locked / unlocked / re-locked?
What ruu are you trying to flash exactly (file name + link)?

I think your firmwre is too old to flash this RUU. Have you tried to flash the ruu using your external sd card? Rename the ruu to PN071IMG.zip and save it at the root of your external sdcard and reboot in bootloader mode.
Otherwise you could try the 6.13.401.3 ruu posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159 and you should be able to flash the 7.17.401.5 after this one.

It's in the OP here http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
under "how to flash"
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934539737
not sure which version the above is, but there's also v3.0.9.2 here
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347805953
but the first one should work fine for the M7
