I'd seen a lot of interesting video and news about the new version of android. So my questions are it's possible to port android l to the s advance? And there are many porting that are still under development?
I hope someone can help me because i think it will be awesome.

With next CM maybe, if our devs manage to do it. Btw almost all of our devs who worked on CM got some other phones now.

don't worry it will be there once the full source code of the next version is released by google. so just wait, it will be ported as now we have many devs and kitkat being almost stable, they will surely get the next one working...

Not sure if want. It looks interesting, but I don't nice if losing access to all of the Android apps is worth it.

Seeming this is thin and "web-like" is there any chance that we could build a custom recovery console and allow a secondary bootloader into B2G? I know on SGSII there are apps around that allow for duel boot ROMs, seeming Mozi is going to be a light weight….is there any chance we could do this? Also I am thinking if kernel and drivers are the only requirements then could we not symlink from where a "new" kernel is placed as well as the symlinking from the device drivers essentially "plugging in" to the mozi OS?
What if we were to partition a decent amount of realestate in on the SD card to ext4? And then running it in a separate partition? Ext4 is fast, and even if it IS on SD we are dealing with a kightweight OS, would there be major performance issues with doing this? I am running Link2SD atm and all seems pretty well.
I probably have no idea what I am talking about, and really I don't but I am voicing my ideas to see if anyone is thinking along the same lines?
squad your topic got closed and I don't want to spam your inbox. How could you delete your source? It can't be a too big file?

Hello,
I'm new to all these smartphone's tech but since I'm a Linux lover, who knows howto compile kernel with custom confing etc, I'd like to help with porting 4.1 Android to Galaxy Mini 2, but first I'll have to sort some things out....
Anyway, as I have seen so far, squadzone been working for some time with s6500 and he produced custom kernel for 2.3 android, which OC'd CPU from 800mhz to 1,1 Ghz....and I'm thinking, do we really need sources from squadzone? Perhaps we should start from scratch, firstly looking for some NFO at http: // source.android.com/source/building-kernels.html
Second, I'm aware lots of these "modds" are not being released under any kind of opensource. What I mean is, can we trust these modds? Having a botnet with smartphones would be an good idea.... but NVM.
If u guys wanna make some mods/porting/etc please try to make it opensource at the beginning of project. No putting hidden/unknown code.
BTW, what about maclaw? He have been working on galaxy mini afaik, he might have some experience in this field?
Just a thought
Cheers

I ask you to get involved in the DEV thread and help trybicki14 & TheWhisp in making CyanogenMod 10 - Jelly Bean. :good:
tip: We don't need OpenMax driver because we have armv7

Hello folks, I'm new dev and still learn about android and sources codes. I saw information TeamCanjica have stopped the unnoficial updates for our device Unfortunately (but thanks TeamCanjica you're top team here ). Lately I found some devices have same Hardware than galaxy S advance, I look for xperia U, and surprise, It's almost the same thing, (galaxy S advance have little more powerfull hardware), I'm surprise with this device because it have less RAM than S advance and can run AOSP 5.0.2 without problems, of course Cm12 for this device is beta stage, and I know is very hard to repartiton the internal memory S advance for new AOSP, but think, if xperia U have less hardware and same specs with S advance, why our S advance can't run new OS 5.0.2 without problems ? If you think "garr but battery is fly easy on 5.0 xperia U, have issue performance and some lags on UI",go on sectionxperia U and ask some user if he or she got some problem... . Thanks attention and read , I hope this thread have healthy discussion XD
I don't want to be rude, but there are already discusdions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-advance/help/request-lollipop-galaxy-s-advance-t2912309 .

HI ,
any dev already started with the Marshmallow aosp code to port it to our glory device ?
Thanks in advance.
Wrong forum section!
bro not even the nexus mobiles have gotten the upgrade so iu think its petty early for developing marshmellow, so i think you should be asking this question in november or december when there would be enough development

Almost all recent nexus devices received 6.0 already, there are roms already too for them, and yes, some devs for titan have started working on 6.0 too, but please don't ask for ETAs or anything, roms will arrive when they have to, also as the other user said: wrong forum section!
wait a minute... this is about the Moto G 2014, right? which will get official 6.0 anyway, correct? How can smbd. honestly expect there to be real progress with a 6.0 ROM one week after the 6.0 release for Nexus (which btw. hasn't even reached any of my Nexus devices yet) and before there's even been a 6.0 GPL kernel release for the Moto G from Motorola? Give us a break PLZ
I was also wondering about this thing, thanks for asking
Very simply put. Yes, development has started. However what is missing is the source code from caf or simpler the source code for the hardware configurations for android m. This then, has to be set up to work with the android "software" for android m you get from google. And this takes some time.
The caf source code should be getting released in the next weeks. If you see android m for non nexus devices it is basically android m running on top of the hardware configs for android l.
hi there,
well, i have been using this phone almost for 2 years, and the only thing that i want to know is:
is there a rom based on android 4.2.2 jellybean for this device??
or any way to get jellybean work on this phone?
cuz i cant use some apps on ics.
hope anyone reply soon.:good:

Sigh. Don't reply anymore to this. I already moved on from this device.. and it has been 4 long years and also this device is deprecated and obsolete.
Answering old posts is useful

Answering old questions is useful because if someone's else than OP needs an answer, you can leave it there. Anyway yes, this is a pretty obsolete device.
