Hi,
I think I did something stupid yesterday. I installed xposed installer + framework on my G4S and now the phone doesn't boot(remains on jiayu bootlogo). I have the stock android version (4.2) with the stock recovery menu(attached zip). I used the phone without external sd card.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
ps : I've never flashed an android phone.
I guess there is no solution to this problem..

Well safe mode did the trick !!!
"Safe mode, which was developed by Recognized Contributor Tungstwenty, allows you to disable Xposed at boot. This is useful if a particular module is causing you bootloops. Safe mode can be activated by repeatedly pressing any of your device’s hardware buttons during early startup. Your device will then vibrate twice after the first button press is detected, after which you have five seconds to press the same button an additional four times. Safe mode is then confirmed with a long vibration. "

Wait a few seconds after turning it off.. Because the unit doesn't shut off immediately after the screen and lights turn off, and that can make it iffy getting into download mode..

you have 2 choices
1. for fast solution, return the phone to the store
2. if you can wait, samsung said it'll release a fix later on in september possibly the same time with Froyo2.2

what can i do ?_?
returning it to the store is the best solution.
no one can confirm if samsung will actually release a fix, but it's expected as they are aware of the problem.

AllGamer gives the best advice here Sunny.
It may be something simple but I have not heard of anyone else who could not restart their Galaxy S in the method you are using.

Personally, I've been able to make it into download mode, but not recovery mode. I'm 80% sure I need recovery mode for my root, could I be wrong? And forgive me if these are the same thing, but I don't think they are. I think there is a way to root with the download mode, but the translation for it sucks and I seem to be missing files AFAI can see.
There is a way to get into recovery mode without the 3-button access. I had to go through the same thing with my Bell phone. You need to download the android standard development kit (SDK) and possibly samsung usb drivers. With this from command prompt you can force your phone into recovery/download mode. Here are a few helpful links:
[New member, need to be approved before I can post links. I'll PM them to you if I can and update my post whenever I receive approval.]
I also really recommend you put your SDK right in the C: directory as it simplifies cmd commands. Also make sure to update the SDK when you download it, it's going to want to do it anyways. The above articles aren't very clear if you aren't familiar with cmd commands so I'll quickly explain it. If you put the SDK folder in your C: directory (no subfolders like my documents for example) then you need to get into it by typing " cd \sdk\tools " (at the command prompt screen) before issuing the following commands as described in the video and articles. Hope this helps.
Using the SDK will only really help if your phone's not bricked. If it is, 3 finger recovery is the only real way to help get you back on your feet.
HI all
i tried to return it to the store
but they said it's not a hardware problem
and it is not a necessary for user.
they didn't change it for me.
what can i do
and i found a way to root it..
if i want to fresh the rom without download mode.
what can i do?
I had the same problem entering into Emergency Mode or Recovery mode. I used this trick. Press Home buttton then without releasing Home press and hold at the same time Volume Up button and Power Button and when you see the Galaxy logo for 1 second release the two side buttons Volume and Power but still hold Home for 2 or more seconds till you see Android system recovery mode loading.

Hey I entered into a SAFE MODE where all the applications were gone.
This happened to me after a sudden reboot by the system.
Please throw light on how to enter this mode and how it works !!!
I don't think there is such a mode, unless... your /data/ is somehow gone?
There was such a mode on GB, and probably still is on ICS.
Dr.Ketan said you could enter the safe mode by either frequently tapping the menu button or keeping it pressed (can't remember which now) while your Note is booting.

Whn you power on your phone and see "Galaxy Note N-7000" screen, press and kepp holding menu soft key untill you boot into os and you will be in safe mode.
Thanks Vijai but I could not make it work.
I also read in other forums about pressing power and the menu key.
May be I need to know through a step by step process.
Anyone else successful with this ??

Hi
I have 3 year old Captivate, which now has an issue with the volume down button which seems to be making the phone boot into Safe Mode. I'm guessing vol down and power on force Safe Mode. My question is, is there a way to block Safe Mode when I power on.
Phone is running CM 10.1 and apart from this H/W issue is running great.
what do you mean safe mode?
that is a windows term that doesn!t mean anything to me in my android experience.
do you mean recovery mode with only text prompts?
can you please describe the screen you see?

Android has a safe mode, it is used to troubleshoot if a problem is caused by an app you installed or a base Android issue. If you want to learn about it see, http://www.howtogeek.com/130327/how-to-boot-your-android-phone-or-tablet-into-safe-mode/ or similar articles.
This thread is asking how to block Safe Mode.
hey, thanks, I had no idea that existed. I am on a 4.2 rom, cm10.1, and it is there as you suggest.
Back to op. can you get into unsafe mode at all?
if you clean the volume rocker, does it help?
you could also try the reboot menu app in google play. you won't need to press any buttons to power down or reboot. powering would still be trouble, though
I have a G973F that I managed to root and get TWRP installed. I attempted to install the BeyondROM but wouldn't make it past the logo screen so I attempted to flash the original firmware for my device using Odin. There were no errors when I flashed the firmware but the system still didn't boot. I tried to do a factory reset from the recovery menu and it seemed like it completed but now my device will only turn on with "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" at the top. It does not attempt to boot the OS and turns off a few seconds after I release the power button. I have held the Bixby+Vol Up buttons to attempt to get into recovery, doesn't work. I have held Bixby+Vol Down buttons and plugged my phone into my computer to try and boot download mode, doesn't work.
I can't do anything at this point. Does anyone have a way I can use to recover from this?
Hi I got plenty of times this msg "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed". You don't have to worry about it. Just try to flash Official Stock and it will be fine.

Unfortunately I cannot get to download mode to do that. My phone turns on flashes the notice and then turns off. If I hold the power button it will stay on but Download Mode and Recovery cannot be booted to.

Thats the tricky part but I know its hard. Try to press together Bixby + Power button. As soon as it goes off then suddenly press Bixby + Volume Down button and attach data cable. I got the same issue because you have only few seconds to do it. If you cant do it then try to get some help of your friend or relatives etc. I am damn sure you can do this. You take reponsibility of buttons and tell your friend to attach the cable once it goes off. And sorry for my bad english

Your English is great and it worked as you said. I totally thought I was out the cost of this damn phone. Was that documented somewhere or did you randomly figure that out?
Its even easier - you can keep the cable attached. Had some story ...)

You can do it either by using hardware buttons https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-222931/ or using adb commands adb reboot recovery

That method doesn't work on my s10,it looks like Samsung killed the ability to boot into recovery using the button combination on android 11

It has to work, maybe you have to vary the timing, also you can try with tap on restart phone and keep pressing only volume up button till recovery appears.
if you upgraded to android 11 you HAVE to plug in via USB....not sure why they changed so much on android 11
I'm on A11 and the button method works fine for me... on the three S10+ phones I have used recently.
I asked this question on the community section in the Samsung members app and someone told me I needed to plug in the device into my charger and then press volume up and bixby and after pressing them while keeping them pressed I need to press the power button.and Keep all the 3 buttons pressed till I am in recovery,This has worked for me

You have no idea how grateful I am for your explanation. Everyone always says a bunch of different key combinations and timing and I ALWAYS have to google it and try many times untill I am able to reboot. But it was THIS SIMPLE ALL ALONG. Wow. This worked perfectly and only on my first try! Since there is no timing to worry about. and only one key to remember. I do normally have to have my cable connected to my PC. But now it is so simple! THANK YOU
