[Q] anyone willing to instant message me about some rom issues - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello friends i could really use some help and if anyone was willing to instant message me via skype or hangouts or fb messenger or whatever i would really appreciate it!
here is the problem i face:
So i was running dynamic kat 4.2, i flashed the 4.4.4 google dialer and it gave me issues, so i flashed back the old dialer (i wasnt supposed to do that!). I ended up getting "core.android has stopped" so i went to do a clean flash of 4.2 in safestrap and i made a nandroid backup then proceeded to wipe everything besides micro sd. (which is the way i have always been instructed to do it), I reboot my phone after the wipe and blam safestrap is gone and i just get a "samsuing galaxy note 3 boot screen". did i totally brick my phone? i know i can get into the stock recovery so i was wondering can i flash safestrap via the stock recovery or do i need to do the whole mj5 restore shebang i REALLY do not wanna do that!
any help asap would be massively appreciated!
thanks so much
-ben

If you have a N900A, you can just Odin to 4.4.2 NC2. It's much easier than the MJ5 restore process and you can use Towelroot to root and reinstall Safestrap. Just make sure you use Safestrap 3.75.

Back to stock via RSD or something?

So I got a Droid 4 and seem to be having problems with Safestrap enabling the safe side, is there a way I can RSD back to complete stock so I can go back and do everything myself? I know when I had a Razr I had the same issue but when I RSD backed to stock I was able to root and go back to everything myself and didn't have any problems after that.
I've looked and couldn't find anything to do it...anyone?
**I had it disabled running the stock rom, installed Safestrap went into recovery and was going to switch to the safe side and it gave me a error. So I went to reboot my phone and now everything is wiped and I lost everything

You are not the first one to have this problem. I had this happen to me a few weeks ago and have seen a few others posting of similar issues since. Not sure what is happening that is causing this. Did you make a backup of you non-safe system? If you did you can try restoring it although that did not work for me. Kept getting stuck restoring system.orig. Reboot just brings you back to a completely wiped stock ROM. Really strange. What I did to fix safestrap was uninstall safestrap recovery, delete the safestrap folder on /sdcard, then re-install safestrap recovery. I think somehow something is getting corrupted when switching between the safe and non-safe system.
I haven't seen a good guide on XDA for using the fastboot files to restore your phone to stock but here is a good guide from DroidForums courtesy of SGMD1.

I would also highly recommend using Titanium Backup or something similar to backup all you apps and data. That way, if something like this happens again, you can restore all you stuff.
Thanks that's what I was looking for, as far as having a back up...no I don't have one since it came with Safestrap and running eclipse I don't have a backup of the stock that's why I was wanting to start from scratch and get my ducks in a row with everything
There's a Droid 4 SBF out there. I've been able to get it to work with RSD Lite 5.7

[Q] GT-N7000 (rooted) constantly restarts after Jelly Bean upgrade. Help!

Hi all,
So, a little earlier today, i noticed the 'update available' appear on my phone here in the UK. Although I rooted my phone when it had Gingerbread, the update to ICS was fine, so I decided to go ahead and accept the software update to Jelly Bean.
Big mistake!
Now when I turn on my phone it is really sluggish, but after between 10 to 40 seconds it restarts itself.
It does this constantly so it is now impossible to use my Note.
I really need to get it back into a working state, ideally without losing my photos.
What would be the best solution?
If I can back up my photos to my PC then it won't matter if they get wiped from the phone. I'll try that as soon as it is charged up.
Another thing that may cause an issue is I can't remember which program I used to root the phone. I remember it was just a straight forward root, with no custom ROM installed, no clockwork mod thingy and no binary counter update.
Should I just try to unroot the phone to see if that fixes it?
Since I can't remember what software I used to root it, does that mean I can't unroot it?
Anyway, hope someone can help.
Cheers
Best would be to download stock rom from Samfirmware.com install Philz kernel. Do a wipe data, format system, cache, preload. Boot into download mode and flash the new rom. A fresh start might solve the issue. Make a backup of important data.

Soft Bricked ... stuck in a loop =/

So sorry for having to ask ... I have managed to get my One (ATT) version stuck in a boot loop. I cannot seem to find anything to restore from in CWM and the only thing on the SD card currently is the custom ROM I was attempting to flash ... I really don't know how to fix this, if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. I did some searching around and haven't found a solution to my specific problem, even though others have soft bricked theirs, it seems their fix was much more simple than mine.
I'd love to help, can you explain what rom you were flashing and what went wrong? Did it get stuck in aroma installer?
You should always perform a nandroid backup before doing anything for future reference.
Sent from my Tricked out HTC One
Thanks for the quick reply. I was flashing Android Revolution HD. However, when it was complete I attempted to use Titanium Backup to restore my contacts etc. Apparently the ROM didn't like some of the things I attempted to restore as it conflicted. Like Blink Feed didn't work any longer, just a blank screen where it once was. I decided I would try and re-load the rom again via CWM and went through the wipe process. However, before I went through that I believe I accidentially unrooted the phone by selecting fastboot? Before I got into recovery. Now, if I try to re-load Android Revolution ROM .zip via CWM, it will become unresponsive halfway through the installation. I am pretty sure CWM re-rooted my phone for me as I saw a message asking if I would like to do so and I selected yes. So as of now, I'm just stuck and unaware of what I need to do to fix it =(

[Q] Is it a good idea to flash a rom on a "somewhat" rooted phone?

Hi, I'm running Benny's 4.3 (build number 3.04.651.2) Deodexed (because i do not see any .odex files in the system folder, right?) and I want to flash the update which keeps popping up in the notifications every 24 hours after clearing app data.
I tried doing the OTA update but my phone goes into TWRP. My biggest concern is flashing the stock rooted update because my phone really isn't rooted. I have SuperSu on the phone and sometimes I get "SuperSu has been granted permission" or something like that but Root Checker app says the phone does not have proper root access. I don't really know what is going on because I took my phone to a repair center to get it unlocked shortly after i got the official OTA 4.3 update. I read that you need to downgrade to 4.1 and then unlock the phone through SimUnlockHelper apk. When I got my phone back everything was working as it should and my phone is indeed unlocked.
My biggest concern is flashing a stock rooted rom because of the fact that my phone does not have proper root access. Would you recommend doing this and are there any precautions I should be aware of because I had nothing to do with rooting or tweaking android before since this is my first phone that runs android officially.
Thanks!

^This is the safest option @Andza195
BTW, imo, it should work, but just backup just in case. Also, if something doesn't work, the real best method is just to download the newest version of the ROM, back (everything that's important to you) up, wipe everything in TWRP except Internal Storage (because this is where the flashable .zip is at!) and flash the ROM fresh.

[Q] Restore to 4.3 NB4

OK it's been a while and I have screwed up some stuff.
I have the att note 3 and I"m rooted running 4.3 build NB4. I had some stuff frozen and xposed things setup. Been running fine and really haven't messed with anything for 6-7 months. I'm selling the phone and told the person buying it I would leave it on 4.3 stock rooted.
So I just did a factory reset / wipe cache. Now when it boots up I get a samsung keyboard force close error and can't do anything until I change to something else. I figure there will be other issues also, I realize now I should have undone things, but it's to late.
So what do people recommend. My first thought was to somehow flash the NB4 files, but i don't have custom recovery.
So any suggestions, steps or files would be much appreciated.
Can you not just odin to reflash it back to stock 4.3?
Maybe but i cant locate the files to odin and im not that famaliar with how to use odin. Can some provide a liitle guidance.

I don't think you will find it NB4 build for odin. I was looking for firmware for some time and had no success. You need to get back to NI9 than find update NI9 to MJ5 and then MJ5 to NB4. So i will suggest find this updates so you can sideload after you get stock NI9. and i think you have all files you need to do this here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51468226&postcount=10
