Hey XDA members! My phone has been acting weird for the past 3 days. The phone thinks its charging when it is not connected to the charger. I have used Odin to go back to stock and then reinstalled cm11 and the problem persists. The phone sometimes dies randomly when it is less than 40%, It doesn't even give a warning. The phone mostly never gets recognised when it is connected to my computer. I have a feeling its a battery problem but it could be a software one as well. I'm running Maclaw's CM11 with no custom kernel or anything. Help will be appreciated!
Battery problem!
I got the same problem 2 months ago, I changed battery and all the problems has solved

I'm having major battery issues with my X1.
it's always auto shut down all of the sudden although my battery was 70%
Then when I turn my phone back on.. it became low battery (less than or just 10%)
Is this related to my battery? or the phone itself?
Heard a friend having the same problema with a HTC after installing a new ROM.
Maybe it's soft related.
that problem WILL persist even if I changed so many roms? I just don't understand why.. Need to fix this ASAP.. it annoys me by running out of battery everytime =.="
I suggest you flash back your stock rom to exclude a software issue. If the problem persists I would say you have got a defective battery.
I suggest it's the battery. Had similar problem with aftermarket battery off eBay. Used it for 2 weeks, then it suddenly shut off and no sign of life whatsoever from my X, got the charger plugged in - nothing, no side lights, no startup. Flicked another battery in to make sure my X is functioning. Then got the battery that caused problem back in to see what's happening. Well, it was at 35%, started charging again and behaved like nothing happened.

yeah that's what happened to my phone..
Ahh... Guess I really need to change my battery already.. Thanks for the info. Helped a lot..
First, sorry for my bad english..
The problem started a few days ago when my phone started to get really hot.. About 49 C, according to the battary software..
But, it is not only the battery, which is hot.. Its mainly the place left for the camera, if you see the mobile from the behind.. And the screen get hot too.. and sometime the mobile shutdown too..
The battery also acts weird. It keeps power only for 2 hours, maximum, and often less than an hour..
I was using the Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 Stable rom, and thought that was the problem.. So i reinstalled the rom, and it didnt help..
Now im running the Nova HD 1.1.0, with android 4.0.4, and the same problem is still on..
Some ideas, why it is doing it?

I think I had the same problem. I got it fixed after sending my phone five times to a repair center. The problem that I had was a defective motherboard.
I think that HDMI broke the motherboard. After I sent my phone for the second or third time for repair, the phone received a board swap. It fixed the problem. But shortly afterwards I tried to connect my phone to a TV again. It worked OK for a while but then, after some minutes, the signal was lost and my phone froze with a black screen. After that, my phone began showing the same problem as before. At both times I was using CyanogenMod 7.x
So, have you ever used the HDMI-out on the phone? And did your phone freeze/crash while using it? If yes, then I am afraid you have a defective motherboard.
Though I am not 100% that that's the reason
Another issue that the phone had was when the phone was turned off, the phone still sucked power out of the battery, resulting a hot phone.
Now I am afraid to use HDMI on this phone.

Hello All,
I am facing a strange issue but something that has become a nuisance and made my Note unusable.
I was happily running Ultimate JB 4.1.2 v5.1 when I downloaded something related to green them of sysui( name not entirely sure)
from the OTA update section in ultimate ROM and installed throught CWM.
After the installation, suddenly I found that my battery is not charging.
I connected through wall charger and even tried chargin through USB from my laptop. Nothing worked.
I flashed again with V5.1, then V5 and even Rocket Rom V12 several times while clearing the battery stat as well.
Once it worked when the battery started showing as getting charged,
but then USB mass storage was not being shown when I connected the phone through USB to my laptop.
So I flashed again. Finally after several attempts of flashing different Roms (All JB ultimate V5 and 5.1 and RRV12),
my battery started to get charged.
And now, yet again, for no change made to my Note, I have this problem appearing all of a sudden.
Battery not charging and now it has discharged completely. It either goes into boot loop or doesnt start at all.
USB storage hasnt worked since the problem started with the battery charging.
I am not sure what the problem is, but very unlikely problem with ROM.
I flashed the ROMs properly, doing factory reset, clearing Dalvik case, formatting /system, /preload etc.
There is no problem with the charger cable, for the battery gets heated even when my phone is off, but I see no battery charging signs.
any help please? Anyone?
I guess the problem is not related to the rom..its just a coincidence
Try with another charger and battery of ur friends
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
also try an official Samsung rom ICS or GB
I was facing the similar issue, but in my case when the battery was 10% i flashed cm9.1 stable rom without gapps or anything, and then the phone booted up and the battery was charging, (very slowly at first and then normal).
you could also try replacing the battery. I had a similar problem a few months back and when i checked the battery, it was already bloated so i repalced it. After replacing the battery, it went back to normal
Hi to everybody,
I'm having a weird problem with my Nexus 6. After several ROM changes and back to stock, my phone stopped charging. I changed the battery because I though the battery was the problem, but I found that it really wasn't this problem, and the problem persists.
When I run into recovery or factory mode, the phone charges perfectly, without any troubles. I installed TWRP and checked the battery temperature and always has a ridiculous amount of several million degrees. Does anybody have or had the same problem and a way to solve it?
Thanks in advance.
It sounds like a hardware problem to me. Most likely, the initial problem charging was a bad USB port, cable, etc.. Getting a strange temperature reading like that indicates either the connection to the sensor wasn't reconnected when you reassembled the phone, or the sensor is on the battery and the battery you installed doesn't have one or it's broken somehow.
If you really think it's the ROM, power down and plug in. You should boot into a charging screen. That's not part of the ROM, so it's unlikely to have the same software issues.
I got the same problem months ago. I made a complete factory reset flashing all the things with stock and then it was working perfectly.
Hi,
I'm a Mi5 3/64 (black) user since 1 month, I bought it from Geekbuying.
Since 1 months the phone was hardbricked twice:
First time I left it overnight with 40% of battery and when I woke up in the morning the phone was dead, no life at all. I tried to charge it for couple of hours but it didn't help. Luckily I was able to flash MIUI through Miflash, so after that I was able to turn on my mobile and start again from zero. Terrible.
Second time it happened while I was charging my mobile. When it had 90% of battery I switched the mobile off. After one or two hours, still connected to charger I tried to turn it on but it was dead again. No life at all. I tried to charge it for couple of hours and nothing. So I left it and the next day I tried to turn it on by any chance and the red LED started to blink. Tried to charge for a while, but still without success. Connected to my laptop and it was visible in MiFlash, so I flashed latest Miui dev and now I can start again setting up my mobile.
What should I do now? Does it look like battery issue? I'm afraid that it will happen again after 2-3 weeks.
Somebody else had this issue? Did you ever return smth to Geekbuying and received item or refund back?
I wrote to Geekbuying and they just recommended me to flash this - https://goo.gl/jLBSsa I think it's bull****, just an old Miui ROM.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Was just going to restart the device and flash supersu binarys, tried to restart into recovery, eventually it died, couldnt boot it at all, doesnt respond while charging neither when plugging into the computer. I've no idea what happened but for me it feels like it was the battery failed. I was on lineage 170109 with brand kernel 3.3

Yes, so your issue is similar to mine. Terrible, no idea what's wrong with this phone and geekbuying support is terrible.
Use MiFlash to temporary make your device alive.

Using Mac but don't want to hassle, just bought a new battery from ebay instead and hope it will fix the problem.
On another community people told me that the main board is faulty, they say that it's the common issue in mi5.
