I there i have a hp touchpad, an offer. It had already a android version (7 I think), and a problem with wifi, some times didn't connect.
So I decided to upgrade to cm-11-20140625-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin, with rom update-PhilZ_CWM-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140612 and pa_gapps-stock-4.4.4-20140818-signed, I used the tptoolbox, but the problem with wi-fi remains.
Its a problem of room?
Or of software?
Or hardware?
Can anybody help, please?
thanks in advance :good:

Ensure that you are cleanly installing, by factory resetting. Do WiFI problems exist when booted into WebOS?

When they gave it to me, it already brought android, and some it works fine some times no.
I did the factory reset, before the installation.
I watched that e can't get a ip address, e get stuck there .
For WebOS I need to download and reinstall?
How to?
thanks
When the tablet starts, you are greeted with a moboot menu. Use the volume rocker to select WebOS. In WebOS, attempt to connect to WiFi there. That should iron-out a hardware issue. I highly doubt it is a hardware issue to being with.
On the latest Android builds, WiFI is certainly not an issue. Use the Toolbox and try flashing again.

It would be wise to keep WebOS on a volume on your Touchpad. You can do this by running WebOS Doctor. Once your tablet returns to complete HP stock, you can then easily use the fantastic Toolbox provided by JScullins to push the latest KitKat builds of Android.
Good luck! And make sure to pass around your thanks on this forum by hitting the "Thanks" button!

but it worry because now i am afraid to disconnect... lolol.
What is the influence of gapp on th system?
I read in the past, that the touchpad WiFi, prefers channel 7 for WiFi. The only way to set that is to hard code that channel on your router!

Wifi fix for HPTouchpad CM11 (if you get stuck at "Wifi Turning On")
Hi all,
would like to share the issues I've been facing. Previously been using CM9 until one day the wifi stopped working - stuck at "Wi-fi Turning on...". WebOS wifi always worked flawlessly, just not android. Everytime I reflashed using TP Toolbox / ACMEUninstaller2, android Wifi did not work, always shows MAC Address Unavailable (regardless of wifi optimization settings, wifi sleep settings etc, and always stuck at Wi-fi Turning on...).
What I tried that didnt work:
>> TPToolbox with [cm-11-20141002-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin],[update-PhilZ_CWM-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140317],[gapps-kk-20140105]
>> TPToolbox with [cm-10.1-20131210-SNAPSHOT-VPN-tenderloin], [update-CWM6_tenderloin-20121215], [gapps-jb-20130812-signed]
>> ACMEInstaller5E with [update-cm-10.1-20131210-SNAPSHOT-VPN-tenderloin],[update-CWM6_tenderloin-20121215],[update-gapps-jb4.2.2-20130812-signed]
>> ACMEInstaller5 with [update-cm-9-20130929-NIGHTLY-tenderloin],[update-CWM6_tenderloin-20121215],[update-gapps-ics4.0-20120429-signed]
all cases android wifi was stuck at "Wifi Turning On..." MAC address unavailable but webOS wifi works without issue.
>> installing FXR Wifi fix [FXR WiFi fix and rescue 1.5.0.apk] did not help either, it got stuck at "deleting profiles"
>> going into CWM and wiping Cache/Data + Dalvik Cache, turning on Bluetooth etc did not work either
After multiple tries, here's the solution that works for me for the past few hours. Will update if wifi stops working again:
Using JCSullins TPToolbox [tptoolbox_v40]:
1) Complete Data Reset
2) Create webOS volumes
3) WebOsDoctor to restore WebOS - check wifi works and clear USB data. [webosdoctorp305hstnhwifi]
4) TPToolbox to Install Android [cm-11-20141002-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin],[update-PhilZ_CWM-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140317], [pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140608-signed]
5) Wifi turns on after booting CM11! MAC address also restored.
6) 1st thing to download - Nandroid online backup
personally, i feel it's the pa_gapps that did the trick. Could be a problem with the KK-signed gapps making the wifi issue appear (suspect its the ath6k failed to initialize problem that others have posted about)
Would like to thank the devs for their work, especially JCSullins for the TPToolbox, it is truly awesome and easy to use.

I have searched for the past thirty minutes and have not found a solution so i decided to post in the place where every person seems to know the answer to every question. Anyways, my tp succesfully got set up in ICS and WIFI turned on at first for me to do my original setup, but after rebooting to flash the charger fix and new kernel, my wifi will not connect. I tried a fresh install to make sure the kernel was not the issue, to no avail. When i try and slide the wifi on/off switch to on it just slides back and clicking on the button does nothing. I also tried to add the power widget to the main screen and hit the Wifi button from there, but that was also borked. Any help would be appreciated.
Try setting your router to a specific channel I put mine on 9 and it works now. I was having wifi issues after reboot but after setting the Chanel on my router they went away
If I forget my network, then reboot, then reconnect it seems to work fine. I tried a few other "fixes" I have read about and nothing else seems to work for me at this point...
The problem is not my network, its the fact that i cannot hit the "on" button for wifi

The OP did make the problem clear!
Looks like a reinstall may be needed.
try fixing permissions from CWM.
If that doesn't work, I suggest to have a look at the logcat entries while trying to switch on and off the Wifi, you may see the reason for the error there.
What version of CM9 is intalled? did you install any special kernel? What channel is your wifi on? (I changed mine from 11 to 1 and it's stayed connected for days now!)
Try a full cache and dalvik cache wipe in ClockworkMod. If that fails, then do a full wipe, re-install and try again from scratch.
This happened to me when I updated to Alpha 0.5. I had to go back and reflash the bricked kernel which i previously installed. I think he made a change to the wifi settings and if I remember correctly he told you how to go back to stock cm9 if you wanted to. But if you installed bricked before that's your problem, reflash it in CWM
bricked kernel uses a different WIFI module, so you need to have both in sync (kernel and driver).
If it worked on first boot, I presume he didn't change the kernel, so something else must be causing his WIFI to fail (fail to start, not fail to connect)
As we mention before, I will go for permissions, cache and get a logcat for the error
Permissions did not work so I wiped and started fresh for the third time....well I guess third time is a charm because I am posting from the TP right now thanks guys.
Hi everyone,
I am currently having a big trouble with my hp touchpad, it was working very well until my dad asked me to try something with the bluetooth.
I just actived it from a gadget (not from the menu) and since I push the button, my touchpad restarted the cyanogen9 then when he finishes restarting, it do it again and again as a loop.
It seems that it all started after pushing the activation of Bluetooth :s
I actually tried to instal other version of cyanogen9 (I was on the version : cm-9-20130929-NIGHTLY-tenderloin, and now I am on cm-9-20130714-NIGHTLY-tenderloin but the result is the same since the Bluetooth is still activated.
I also tried to do a wipe cache but since that my touchpad just stay on the loading screen of cyanogen9...
Thanks for your help.

It sounds like CM 9 doesn't like whatever you did to your Bluetooth. What I would do would be to re-flash CM 9. If your Touchpad isn't working on the Android side, boot into Web-OS and download the CM 9 file to your computer. Connect your Touchpad to your computer and copy the CM 9 file to the SD card. Then re-boot into recovery and flash the CM 9 ROM and Gapps. This should work because to are installing a fresh rom over the old one.
So I downloaded all the files that I need and start with a fully charged touchpad. I currently am running an older version of android on it with webos, but decided since I have not used webos in over 2 years, why not wipe it clean, install a new version of android and just leave off webos.
Now with everything in place, I connect the touchpad in recovery mode, start touchpad toolbox, i see the commands scroll on the touchpad screen for maybe 1 or 2 seconds and it then just reboots itself. Am I missing something or is this just not working?
I even thought maybe I was running low on storage and did a factory reset of android to wipe everything that was installed off with no luck.
I just want to wipe this clean and do a fresh install of kitkat or whatever. dont need anything else on it, dont even need the multiboot. Any recommendations out there?????

I have heard no reports of what you describe.
I suggest using TPToolbox v41 from here (download link in that post):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54986968&postcount=293
and try again.
If it does it again, I will need to see a kernel log file to help diagnose what's happening.
To get that, following the instructions on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53258228&postcount=10
but replace steps 1-3 with:
1) Load Touchpad Toolbox
2) Start holding the Volume Up button
3) Continue to hold VolUP until you see the big USB symbol (i.e. webOS recovery)
Errgghh
Downloaded but not sure what is going on. I think the problem my be with something being overwritten during one of the first attempts. With the USB logo displayed, I connect it to the PC. The minute it starts to transfer, it resets and I see the hp logo and then the boot screen. At this point it is stuck in a rebooting loop for several times. I even just tried webos doctor and it starts at 1% and as soon as it hits 2% it reboots the same way.
Also will not mount as a USB drive on the PC. Just as a palm noobie or something so I can not access anything on the device manually.
While I have not experience your issue I have had other issues that were resolved by changing to a different USB cable. Might be worth a try.
Sent from my MT2L03 using Tapatalk 2
Having the same issue. From USB to HP logo, then 1.5 seconds of text and then reboot. Tried V41 and V42 and tried multiple USB cables.

This is usually a problem with the gapps version not matching the android version. Apart from this, I'd recommend twrp instead of cwm.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602188
After that I'd recommend to do a fresh install, following

I Installed android 4.4.4 jpsullins version on my 32gb hp touchpad and the wifi will not turn on. It is stuck with the message "turning on wifi" in wifi settings but will not turn on (the wifi switch won't toggle so I can't turn it off either). Also in the advanced settings no mac address or ip address is displayed. I have tried turning on and off airplane mode. Rebooting in to webos and back (wifi works in webos mode). I had cyanagen mod 10 previously installed and it was doing the same thing there so I tried wiping and reinstalling but no luck.
Any ideas?

I am having the same issue as well. I have tried everything i can think. any help would be appreciated, thanks
I am assuming from the first post that TP toolbox was not used to do the install. From what was written, it seems that wifi is not connecting in Android.
In my experience, there has not been a problem with the jcsullins rom and wifi but again, I used TP toolbox and did a complete wipe and erased webos.
Can you explain more about the process that was used in installing the rom on your TP?
same problem
Hello-
I have had the same problem on my TP 32GB for a couple of years. WiFi worked initially, and the after playing with it for a while it stopped working. WiFi just won't turn on, and won't find any networks, etc. In fact it has been sitting in a box and I just got it out today. I still have the same problem, and it sounds like the same type of problem as the posters above.
Today I used the most recent version of TP Toolbox (v42) to do a complete wipe, erased Web OS, and installed the most version of CM11 (cm-11-20150113-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin). It seems to run well, except no WiFi!
If I look at netcfg, there is just no wlan0, but there is: lo,dummy0,rmnet0,rmnet1,...,rmnet7,sit0,ip6tnl0
And looking at dmesg | grep ath6kl I get:
ath6kl: Unable to enable sdio func: -62)
ath6kl: Failed to init ath6kl core
ath6kl_sdio: probe of mmc1:0001:1 failed with error -62
Any ideas?

I know it's a few years later, but did anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm having the exact same issue across builds (from Jcsullins 4.4 all the way to DU 8.0)
