if you need to get my attention just use the mention system, using @ nkk71 <-without the space (eg @simmo0020 )
anyway, once you've started the RUU.EXE, it will have created a temporary directory in %TEMP%, and within that folder you will find a 1GB+ file called ROM.ZIP <- this is the full ruu.zip which you can flash using linux
Do you intend on going S-ON??

I never recommend going from s-off to s-on on anything above hboot 1.54.... you can follow my guide using cwm restore method (it is longer, and will not work on Win8.1)

Have you installed adb and fastboot on you Pc?
If yes, boot into fastboot usb, copy the attached file to the fastboot folder
open cmd in the folder with the adb and fastboot driver and write
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-vivo.img
boot than again into bootloader and select recovery
than toggle usb mount, copy this file downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-3.0-efgh-signed.zip to you sd card
than disconnect, install zip from sd card and select the superuser zip file.
after that reboot and you're rooted
There would be enough tutorials, but today i'm really "nice"... unbelieveable.
Thanks for your help, and the files, i will try that tonight.
I had just started reading the tutorials and looking at apps like Gingerbreak etc, would have taken me a while to figure out the best option, so much appreciated, thanks again.

No, you should not need ENG S-OFF to flash a custom recovery. If you are using a Windows PC, besides the adb.exe and fastboot.exe have you installed the HTC drivers?
Yes i installed them all including the HTC Sync and then uninstalled HTC Sync as suggested, perhaps it did not leave the drivers when i did that, I will look into it.
Thanks, i was not sure if i needed ENG S-OFF.

On second thought, the reason the fastboot flash recovery command is failing is that even though you have S-OFF, the HBOOT is locked and some of the fastboot commands are disabled, thus the "remote: not allowed" message.
I have attached a PG32IMG.zip file that you can copy to your SD card (copy the file and rename it PG32IMG.zip) and then boot into HBOOT and it will flash CWM recovery from the zip file.
Then you can boot into CWM recovery and flash the su-3.0 zip file to gain root.

FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
IMAGE CRC
how do i go about running the 'su-3.0-efgh-signed.zip' do i do it from here?

Going back to the instructions listed above, select RECOVERY and that should put you in ClockworkMod Recovery. Use the Volume Up Down keys to select a menu item and push the Power button to select it.
First I would make a backup by selecting the 'backup and restore' menu.
Next you would choose the 'install zip from SDcard' and then 'choose zip file from SDcard' Select the SU-3.0....zip file
Then select the 'reboot system now'
Unfortunately i already did it, so did not get to backup , everything seems to have gone well, but now titanium backup and superuser do not seem to work, says no root access still, titanium said something about busybox?
Strange as everything seem to go well after your help.

It comes up with a white screen with apps and logs listed at the top under the superuser logo, the logs have a couple of items listed that were denied, like lucky patcher and titanium.

Do you have Terminal Emulator app? You could dowload that and then run it. On the terminal screen then type the command 'su' and hit the Return key. You should get a prompt from the Superuser app to allow and then the prompt in the terminal window should change to a #.

cannot flash TWRP recovery...

I wanted to run a 4.4 KitKat GE rom on my HTC One, therefore I decided to unlock my bootloader, install twrp, and flash the rom. So far all i did was unlock my bootloader. Then I proceeded to flash twrp recovery via a command prompt? on my desktop. But I kept getting an error message. I attached a picture of the message I am receiving. I read on the twrp recovery teams site that I need to have S-off before flash TWRP soooo I thought this is what was causing the error. I proceeded to change my S-On to S-Off using rumrunner but then I got an error message there saying I need to be rooted. SOOOOOO now I'm at a standstill and I don't know how to get TWRP recovery onto my device. I'm new to this device and this whole unlocking/rooting thing...Please help!

First to clarify things:
you don't need to be s-off to flash a custom recovery just need unlocked bootloader
you need a custom recovery to root
you need root to s-off
so you need a custom recovery first in order to achieve s-off
The picture you attached tells me fastboot isn't finding the file ''twrp, img'' from your command line ''fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
in most cases because:
your recovery.img file is not in the ''platform-tools'' folder that contain adb.exe and fastboot.exe
the file name of your recovery is not twrp.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery ''name_of_your_recovery_file.img''
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
i'll just leave this here: "cannot load" means the filename is WRONG!!! that's all
cya
okay I'll will give it a go with the suggestions tonight and update this thread with my results

I literally downloaded the image file from team wins website, saved it into the same folder containing the adb and fastboot files. I didnt change anything in the file name. 1- have u placed the recovery.img I'm ur adb folder?
2- did u do a"dir" to see the full filenames?

please tell how you fix that i have the same problem
Just rename the file without typing in ".img" at it should be ok.
So in explorer, rename the file simply "twrp" and hit enter. There will be a ".img" extension on the file, but you won't see it. To make sure it's been corrected, run the dir command and it should show "twrp.img" even though the file doesn't have the ".img" when you look at it in explorer.
Does that make sense?

If you can still access CWM recovery then you're far from disaster. There's a lot more you could do. Try flashing a Sense 5 rom. If nothing works you could always restore to defaults with an RUU. In fact, if you want to convert your phone to GPe then you could use the tutorial for that on here somewhere.

Ok. Let me be more clear. I'm stuck in a bootloop on an HTC one Dev Editon running GPE with S-ON. I have no backup and I can't access the phone's internal memory to put another rom.zip in there and try to flash it. Whenever i plug it in my PC it never recognizes it. plus i've been having a bunch of problems installing the HTC drivers on at Win Vista 32bit. I really dont know what to do. I can access the bootloader and CMWR but thats it.
Please help me!

1. adb push
2. adb sideload
3. OTG cable
Ok I'm guessing the OTG route is the easiest? What do I need to do once I get an OTG cable?

actually adb sideload is probably the easiest, from a command window
adb devices
(verify you phone are detect)
adb sideload name_of_the_rom_file.zip
(Wait the file is transfered to phone and recovery flash)
you should have a adb/fastboot folder from when you unlocked the bootloader. put the rom you want to sideload in the same folder as adb

This is a tuto I made when my HTC GPe after OTA when it turned on it got stuck at Blue screen, the only difference was that I was S-OFF (don't know if in this case it changes something) Hope it helps
*Grab a Windows 7 computer NOT Windows 8 or 8.1
*Original stock recovery.img
*Stock ROM
*Android/HTC Drivers and ADB soft
Connect your HTC in fastboot usb.
Flash image by:
fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
type fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip filename.zip
An error will appear, and you will have to type again fastboot flash zip filename.zip
Once it finishes if it stays at HTC logo type fastboot reboot
HTC GPe alive again!

yeah I suppose so ..
adb and fastboot are programs that work with htc phones ..you run them from a command prompt (dos box).
their are a bunch of commands that do different stuff
I post the things you need to do above
here is the files needed to make fastboot/adb work
extract them to c:\fastboot - create the folder if you need to
you also have to ensure you have HTC drivers installed
their here >> http://www.mediafire.com/download/j55vk6qbbr6250c/HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe
to test open fastboot folder / shift/right click in the folder and choose
command prompt here
in the window that opens type adb devices and you should get a serial number ... do this when you phone is siting in recovery and plugged in to the pc

You can also download HTC sync manager. It will install drivers for you + the crappy htc sync soft. When the install finish, uninstall htc sync, the drivers will still be there.
when your drivers are correctly installed you should see those 2 lines in windows device manager

[Q] I may have bricked my One. Can someone help me?

So i have an AT&T HTC One M7, and i was trying to do all the necessary steps to convert it into a google edition, but in my attempt to get s-off, after unlocking and rooting my phone, i did a tutorial that told me to install the ARHD Rom, well after the installation my phone wouldnt load anything past the initial HTC splash screen. so i then i tried an ruu, when it failed it left me unable to even access recovery. so i tried all the ruu files i could find for att and none of them worked. does anyone know what i can do?
on my boot loader screen it says all this:

There is no ruu you can flash to your phone with s-on because all of them are lower version and require s-off to be flashed. your issue with booting arhd is probably because you did not used the right recovery. you must use twrp 2.6.3.3 to flash it.
reflash twrp 2.6.3.3:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
bot in twrp recovery, flash arhd again and try to s-off, if you can't s-off restore your nandroid backup or if you don't have any backup, flash any custom rom you want to use.

oh i got twrp on there, i had to re unlock my phone. now my dilemma is that the arhd rom is no longer there since the phone was wiped i guess. so my question now is, how do i get this arhd .zip back onto the phone? because i cant just drop it in like before

use adb push from twrp recovery, see below for detailed guide:
HTC ONE M7_U/M7_UL - ADB PUSH & FLASH A ROM - DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS
Prerequisites:
You need ADB and FASTBOOT on your computer, either by installing the Android SDK or Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT
You need to know how to start a fastboot/adb command prompt:
To open a command window prompt, in Windows go to Start Menu --> ''Run'' then type cmd. Change the directory to the ADB folder on your machine:
If using the default install location for the SDK:
Code:
cd C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-DATE\sdk\platform-tools
If using the default install location of Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT:
Code:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Or hold left shift + right click a blank space inside the folder where adb and fastboot are located and select ''Open command window here'' from the contextual menu.

You need TWRP recovery (2.6.3.3 or higher) on your device.
Unlock bootloader if not already unlocked:
Thanks to Electroz for the video tutorial
Flash TWRP Recovery:
Make sure the recovery.img file is in the same folder where adb and fastboot are located
reboot phone in bootloader mode
Flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
You need your HTC drivers correctly installed on your PC:
If not, follow this guide (thanks to nkk71):
originally from @nkk71: [GUIDE] [02-MAR-2014] nkk71's SuperGUIDE to returning 100% back to stock
follow the below instructions to fix
Open "Device Manager" -> select the unknown "One" -> right-click -> "Update Driver Software ..." -> "Browse my computer" -> "Let me pick" -> "Android USB Devices" -> select "My HTC ..." -> install that
just in case, HTC Drivers can be found here: [Drivers] HTC Drivers for Windows - Several Versions (credits to @mdmower)
though you should already have them since you have been using your phone anyways
for those who like a visual guide:
okay so I did a fastboot boot command, and as you can see it didnt install correct driver
Open "Device Manager"
there's the culprit
right click and Update Driver Software
select Browse my computer for driver software
select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
select Android USB Devices
select My HTC ... (if you have more than one version, choose the latest)
warning, select Yes
successful installation
now it looks better
and can confirm:
Code:
C:\ADB3>[B]adb devices[/B]

Procedure:
Make sure the ROM you want to flash is in the same folder where ADB and FASTBOOT are.
Here is a list of the HTC M7 roms
Connect your phone to computer using usb cable
Reboot phone in recovery mode (TWRP):
If phone is booted in OS:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
if not booted or bootlooping, hold power button + volume down until phone boot in bootloader mode
then select BOOTLOADER then RECOVERY using volume up/down to navigate and power button to select.
Make sure your phone is booted in TWRP main menu:
transfer the rom to your /sdcard folder:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/
Wait for the zip file to transfer, this can take several minutes and there is no progress bar. When the command prompt give you back the hand and display how much bytes transferred in X seconds, the transfer is completed:
In TWRP main menu, select ''INSTALL''
Browse the installation menu and select your rom zip file inside /sdcard folder:
Swipe to confirm you want to flash the rom

Wohoo they included wifi support in this(unlike some other android wear watches that were promised wifi, but didn't get one with update).

2. select recovey
3. use adb to update
4. adb sideload file.zip

any other option other than sideload? I'm having hard time with TWRP and win drivers for sideload use
What about power saving for wifi? In advanced setting is set to 120 minutes, but I don't know what does this mean: disconnects from wifi after 120 minutes?
And I don't have my charge cradle at the office.
Guess I will do this tonight!

Yea, sideload on TWRP doesn't work for me too. What I did was I modified updater-script in ota zip, pushed zip file using adb into watch storage and just installed it as update.

What happens if you try to flash the unmodified firmware file. Does it still return the exact same error or is it complaining about wrong fingerprint?
I am gonna upload my modified zip. its gonna take some time. my upload speed sucks.
Looking at your pictures, it seems that the file app_process2, on your watch, has a different checksum than what is supposed to be. So, either your have older firmware than LWX49K(5.0.2) or that file became corrupted or something else happened to it.

Well if thats the only file corrupted, I can give you a backup of mine.
Hmm now that I think about it, I can't because I already upgraded, but I can give you the one from newer firmware and remove check for that one file in the updater-script.
Ok so find this line in your updater-script and just remove it
apply_patch_check("/system/bin/app_process32", "a92a761aef714b5e97bc2f27991d6c6d3432e0eb", "ee28188953742e905c1b20a5349a2184581e2972") || abort(""/system/bin/app_process32" has unexpected contents.");
in TWRP fist go into "mount" and make sure that "system" has checkmark in front of it.
Then get a backup of your file by adb pull /system/bin/app_process32 . Save it to a safe place

I don't think it will since its located in the system partition. When you do reset it formats userdata partition.
