HTC One M7 SPC/MSL retrieval - Current/Easy - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I spent many hours of reading because of old OUTDATED information in these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2254578
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248415
For Sprint HTC One M7 on 4.4.2, these methods don't work since ##SERIAL# doesn't do anything.
Tested on Sprint HTC One M7, just use MSLUtility.apk -- the same as people use with the Samsung Note3 etc. Works great. I suspect it will work on all M7 models.
(I found the attached MSLUtility.apk somewhere while working on a Note3)

[Q] Is it here for talk about htc one developer edtion?

Hi, I bought the htc one developer edition.
And I saw that are four different forums for htc one. I get confused, which one is better for seek for information.
I think is the htc one( without carrier). Am I right?
Are the sub forums equal? Can I use rom from att/sprint or t-mobile in the developer edition?
Theoretically you can flash all rom...
Soc is the same...
And a rom for International One (TrickDroid) work on AT&T one
Just don't flash anything from the Sprint forum. There's a high chance that it won't work.

Have you checked the Verizon HTC One forum, they would know more than us in this forum. The Verizon phone has different radio and partitions than the GSM phones here. In addition, Verizon put a stop on allowing HTCDev for unlocking the device. Firewater S-OFF is one of the schemes that can work with your phone.

If your fully updated to 4.4.2/Sense 6, sunshine MAY be your only option, n it works quite well. And as far as the price u refuse to pay, its really quite low if you look into how many man-hours and bricked devices went into making Rooting and S-offing our phones POSSIBLE. Honestly its just about the only way now on a Verizon One and its quite efficient, and if it weren't for Jcase and Beaups, all of us who didn't S-off before the Sense 6 OTA Would still be in the dark. Not trying to be rude, but having a Verizon HTC One myself that I didn't root unti after the sense 6 OTA, chances are, if you're THAT Determined to root it, you're gonna end up goin with Sunshine. Also consider that $25 helps them with future research and development on this phone, and if you look back in the threads, majority of the exploits for this phone were brought to us by them…
Thanks I finally have in and bought it worked fine

[Q] Will m7 ROMs work for the Sprint variant if I plan on using GSM?

It's been a long time since I've tinkered with this phone, so I'd like to ask this. Support for m7spr seems to be diminishing on the Sprint HTC One subforum, so now that I'm starting to use this phone again I might as well ask.

No, the Sprint M7 have a different partition layout than the GSM M7. There are also a few roms compatible with the Sprint variant in the M7 Development forum.

[Q] LineageOS availability for the Sprint One M8 HK?

The custom ROM list for the Spring One M8 doesn't show LineageOS. InsertCoin shows version 7.0.4 and I thought perhaps it's nougat, but it isn't -- the ROM is based on Android 5.0.1.
As far as I can see, there's a little ambiguity floating around... as the One M8 not only has different carrier flavors, but within Sprint there's the HK and non-HK versions. I haven't been able to find any information on the LineageOS.org site under "One M8 2014" any differentiation on ROMs for Sprint M8's, let alone anything indicating non-HK versus HK. I understand that with S-OFF, all this goes away across all CDMA or all GSM. But that's another thing -- I haven't yet found anything that differentiates GSM and CDMA versions of the LineageOS ROM for M8. There *IS* that difference for the older M7, as separate subsections exist for those... so I'm left feeling very confused where the M8 is concerned.
I'm hoping someone here has been down this path and can help clarify. Thanks!
