battery toast - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Battery issue-seems to be unique. Didn't get phone extremely wet but it was being used in a bit of light rain yesterday when this issue surfaced. Phone died at some point in my pocket on the way into office. Set it to charge and, since then, i get flashing orange light with the battery/lightning bolt indicator-in perpetuity . Tried messing with all kinds of button combinations on and off charger and nothing has changed-flashing orange light w/battery indicator (empty-no green or percentage). Phone doesn't even seem to heat up even after hours on charger. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my m7 getting to feel extremely dated on day two.

Dead Battery or Hardware?

Recently my ATT Tilt was working great until I charged it overnight once. Before i charged it i flashed it, maybe thats why it stopped working. I charge it all night and then wake up and still have an orange light not green. Then today i tried to jumpstart my battery and then i woke up the light was green. I was excited but when i turned it on it said low battery then shut off.
idk what it is battery or hardware.
and i think my warranty is out! "/
Can someone plz help me out.
Quality control was out of the building at HTC when they built the Tilt!!! Same problem

Damn Kaiser. Same problem. Will come on when the cable is connected to the laptop or when I connect the charger. Is this the same problem.
im having similar problems, get a multimeter and test the voltage on the battery before and after charging to see if the battery is the culprit.
maybe even try jump starting the battery and seeing if the voltage changes... my battery wont even hold a 1% charge
wow, 4 different people at the same time. I say try running the phone while it is connected to a power source (charger, computer). If it works fine there, I'd say order a new battery if you want to use it still. I just order a new battery for mine for about 15 bucks. Mine is not at the point yours is. My battery is good for about half a day or maybe 2 hours of a phone conversation and its toast. In standby with every thing turned low, it can go for a while but if I use it, it drains fast.
Good luck, and please update us on your status.
I just posted a similar problem I had with a friends Kaiser
My friends Kaiser is no longer charging properly and I have not been able to ascertain the problem.
When plugged in the Orange LED light comes on as normal and the phones says charging under power(settings), however the power levels continue to fall.
I have tried charging with AC charger as well as USB and used two different batteries that I confirmed working in my Kaiser.
the USB socket looks to be in perfect shape and I have cleaned all contacts. I am at a loss just hoping some one can shed some light
The main thought I have (not really helpful though) is that I have my kaiser to test with and both batteries are fine the phone simply wont charge them.

Battery/Charging Issue

My tilt is giving me nothing but problems...i put it on charge last night and when i woke it was totally opposite, the battery actually went dead...it seems to be taking on no charge (using a razor charger) and the red light stays on...at one point the amber light did come on and the screen popped up and showed it as to be charging but when i click to see battery life it shows 0%...i have no idea whats going on since it had been working pretty good...Can someone help? Is it a battery, phone or charger issue?

First thing I would do is go to Amazon and grab a new battery. Never hurts to have a spare handy.
For me it helped cleaning the terminals of the batteries, with a q-tip.

tytn 2 not charging

hi!
i was just wondering, my tytn 2 is not charging, when i look at the battery meter, it says charging, but instead of going up. it goes down, the amber light
the signals charging is gone.
im sure its not the battery. coz i did get a charger, the one where u put probes on the + and - terminal of the battery, it charged. the battery is working now. however, i couldnt charge via the phone.
the red light came up before which indicates not charging so what do i do now?
someone suggested to hard reset it. i tried it but nothing. still the same. i reflashed it... nothing... now using the hyperdragon rom... still the same...
any ideas?
btw, when i plug in the charger, amber light is there... however, not for long, light turns off, but the charging / plugged into the charger symbol is there
as far as my personal experience goes, i have noticed this behavior only when the battery overheats while charging. in the hottest weather, this has NEVER happened for me. it only happens sometimes if my device screen is on WITH wifi WITH bluetooth WITH data connection WITH some heavy processing program running. this causes heating of the components and also leaves little power to charge the battery, because most of the charger's power is being redirected to power the components in use.
so, the device will charge for a few minutes and will interrupt the charging if the temperature rises. the charging will resume again when the temperature comes back down.
you can test if this is happening with your device by observing how long it charges before stopping, first without a fan and then with a fan blowing over the battery with the back cover removed.
if the charging lasts longer when the device is being cooled with a fan, then you are likely facing temperature issues.

Try to clean your battery terminals and see if that can help... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358136

Your same issue
solved my problem...
i was so pissed, all the solutions did not work... i decided to open it up
when i opened it, i saw that there is some dirt / corrosion on some lines
cleaned each and every one of them.
while it was open, plugged in the battery... then the charger...
after 2 minutes... battery bar went up! it is now charging!!! and
best thing... it also syncs!
Good to know that you solved your problem.

[Q] HTC One

I have an HTC One. I was using it normally today, but got home and it was one percent. I plugged it up to charge and went to check a notification I had, and it turned off. It has happened before, and the charge light was on and it went straight to the screen where it shows the red battery and percent below it. This was normal - like I said, it's happened to me before. Then, it completely turned off instead of charging. A short time later, the orange charging light went off.
I plugged it up into the wall as advised a forum I was looking at for this problem, and apparently it is a common thing with these phones. I've let it charge for about an hour and it still isn't turning on and both the charge light and the red LED light have not come on at all. I tried to trick where I held it under my lamp light and held the power button and both the up and down volume buttons but it still hasn't turned on. Maybe I just haven't left it plugged up long enough?
Any advice? I use my phone a lot, so I really need it!

Is my battery fried?

Battery issue-seems to be unique. Didn't get phone extremely wet but it was being used in a bit of light rain yesterday when this issue surfaced. Phone died at some point in my pocket on the way into office from car.

Try holding power volume up and down for 2 minutes. It's supposed to reset the battery charge logic

Any update?
Was Mia awhile- thanks I'm trying now!

Kind of an old.trick but a good one,
Go to: data/system
Delete: batterystats.bin
Plug in phone and let battery charge (if it will)
When battery is fully charged dont un plug your phone, go to data/system again and delete batterystats.bin again. Reboot your phone.
When the light turns green again then unplug the phone. This is basically a manual reset for batterystats.
Would love to try this but I can't boot into recovery whatsoever- almost a month later and I'm still stuck with: empty battery charging emblem and a flashing red light in perpituity

First time I've seen this.might want to take it in to Sprint. They might exchange it for you
I appreciate the advice- this would be my second exchange in a year so Im tentative to take it in and TEP( or whatever its current equivalent is) seems to get more restrictions/rules every year. Phone will work now if its plugged in but the second it loses connection with external power source -dies immediately.

I had a similar issue plugging it into my PC via USB and waiting for the light to remain solid before powering it on seemed to work
