Unlocked Version Spec Differences, Band Differences?

If I were to buy an unlocked version from HTC, or from another retailer, maybe from the UK, are the specs different? What about the hspa, hspa+, or LTE bands?
Right now I have TMO, if I could find an unlocked version before they release the phone, I'll buy that, just curious about the specs and usage.

LTE won't work at all. HSPA+ might but on TMOUS you probably won't get HSPA+ unless the variant has AWS.

Anyway to know?

I want to buy the phone outright, but since I live in Houston, there is LTE with both T-Mobile and ATT, will the Developer edition allow for LTE on either carrier? I don't want to get stuck with something that only has Edge of HSPA+ speeds.

Unless I"m missing something, the T-Mo version would work on all bands on both AT&T and T-Mobile. The Dev edition wouldn't get you HSPA on AWS for T-Mobile (which is almost all of T-MO HSPA), nor would you get WiFi calling if you were going to be using T-Mobile.

Would putting the eventual TMOUS radio on the Dev Edition get us AWS HSPA? I can give up the extra LTE bands.

I have no idea.

It seems strange to me. Why is the regular version (sold on Handtec, Clove etc...) more expensive than the developers version?

Now that I think about it, since it's a dev phone, why wouldn't they enable all bands if it were technically capable? Seems to me there'd be a hardware difference limiting the bands.

Are those importers?

From what i've read, the Developer edition is 64GB and only available in Silver (booo!)
And it doesn't support HSPA+ on T Mobile in the USA
However, I don't care about T Mobile HSPA+, what I want to know is if it will work on other UK networks with HSPA+
All the information i can find goes on about T mobile....does anyone know if it contains HSPA+ that works on other networks?

Will any of the International versions support AT&T LTE?

Essentially I am on AT&T in Chicago, I would love to buy an International edition this go-a-round. Get the updates faster and not deal with AT&T bloat. However I am curious if any country other than the US will carry a LTE variant of the Note III that will support AT&T LTE out of the box (with the correct APN settings) or am I stuck buying the AT&T version if I want access to their LTE network?
Any insight would be awesome. Thanks...

Im 99% sure the exynos processor would only receive 3g on ATT whereas the qualcom gets the full 4g LTE.

You are correct, the Exynos would get me HSPA only... I am hoping that countries other than the US will carry the Snapdragon 800 and that it would be AT&T compatible for LTE.
I edited the OP to clarify.

If its any help, my International Note 1 gets anywhere from 3Mbit to 13Mbit on HSPA+. I've tested with service from both AT&T (straight talk) and t-mobile now that t-mo has re-farmed the 1900mhz spectrum to hspa in my city.
Not sure how fast LTE is but probably at least twice as fast depending on congestion. The real question now is battery life between LTE version and exynos non LTE version.
And in my opinion, its very much worth having the international version. Big drawback though: NO samsung warranty in the USA. To some that might be an issue.

This has been discussed a lot. The international SD 800 variant, from what I understand, should be able to work on AT&T LTE. I guess we won' t know 100% for sure until someone in NA who uses AT&T orders the international SD800 and can confirm that it does work on AT&T LTE. As as this (and ability to root) is confirmed, I'll be ordering my N3.

To give you and idea...I avg around 70mbps down on lte and have been over 100 lots of times...ill see around 25-30 upload. big diff betwee lte and h+

I too am looking for purchasing a phone either T Mobile or International and using it on the AT&T network. It will be my first foray into GSM but so far I have found the following about the 3 different US GSM versions of the Note 3.

I have a pretty good feeling that you cant flash different modems, the modem needs to match the device or else it will brick. But then again I could be wrong.

I was quite delighted to find that there was LTE support for the Tmobile version

we have been doing that for some times already since Galaxy S2 and Notes and Blazer phones were released.
people have been flashing back and forth HSPA vs LTE radio back and forth without a problem.
The only gotcha is Battery drain rate is horrendous on non-native phones using the other radio
some ROMs managed to optimize this to one degree or another, but it's definitely not the same as using a phone that was originally made for that radio.
But the point is, it's do-able and it works.

Negative. 700/1900 is what runs on ATT LTE. They just bought the lower band of 700 from Verizon.

[Q] Which Usa carrier to buy for Europe use?

Hi. I leave in Europe and I want to buy one "Htc one". I will buy a used one from Usa.
The problem is what brand to buy? Verizon or Att ?
I know that verizons are already unlocked but i dont mind also to unlock an Att (its cheap).
The bands that I will use are: GSM 900, GSM 1800, WCDMA 2100, Lte 1800.
None of the htc's that I mention supports Lte 1800 but what about feature custom roms?
Conclusion: considering that I will put on it a custom rom and considering also the feature possibility of custom rom that unlocks lte 1800 which is the best buy?

If you can find htc one m7_ul on ebay it will be better. It has lte 1800 band.

It will work perfect, 100%

Telus sells the XT1097, your looking at the XT1095 out the US just don't pick the AT&T model as it has a locked boot loader that seems cant be unlocked at all..... The Telus model, supposed to have the quickest updates... well thats a lie.... there is no update as of today... and no indication of when either...

I was able to buy a XT1095. I still haven't received it but now all I can think about is "What if I need to use the warranty for some reason?". Did anyone in Canada have to go through that?

I asked a similar question (but for Telus) on howard forums. This is the response i received o0vL
"Moto X - Pure Edition (GSM Unlocked with T-Mo SIM - XT1095):
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

On another thread on this site, someone mentioned that the hardware is the exact same on the canadian model as it is on the pure edition model, the only difference is the firmware. So it seems to me that a radio flash might be required in order to receive the proper bands. I'd love confirmation on this, as I plan on using motomaker in the US to build my phone.

You can't actually change the modem files, you must you the original meant for the phone. The XT1095 supports all of the 2G,3G and 4G bands that Rogers/Bell/Telus/Fido/Virgin/Koodo/Wind/Mobilicity use in Canada. You don't need to do anything but insert your nano sim and possibly program the APN to get network data.

[Q] Will a Hong Kong Data Sim work?

My mom has a Droid Turbo, and I still have my Droid Maxx. We are wondering if the Hong Kong data sims will be plug and play (since it's sim unlocked from the factory), I really have no way of testing before we go to HK. My other option is to buy 3 Moto G's as backups in case they don't work, since they're on sale.
Planning to grab a sim from three.com.hk
Specific APN settings would help, maybe the techs at the shop can help us too.

Never been in Hong Kong question is are the HK carriers GSM? if yes then you won't have any issues (I don't have turbo but used many verizon phones in europe)

check the frecuencies of the phone and the frecuencies by the carrier you want to use on china, if they match you can use it.

If it is a prepaid SIM and preloaded with funds and a GSM carrier with bands compatible with the DT then it will work but as you noted, you are going to have to know the APNs too if you want to use data. The DT is GSM SIM unlocked out of the box. The frequencies are here:

That is entirely dependent on the carrier. None of us know what carrier you are planning on using.

I'm using turbo in hong kong and no problem with all carrier here. Lte can be functioned normally on turbo.
Sometimes it might get no signal for a few seconds because the turbo jump to search for cdma signal.
