I would suggest you to downgrade the OS to an older version because version 7.4.9 has its system partition shrunk,so the root exploit doesn't work.

thankyou

It is possible to root 7.4.9. There are also Kfhd images on the forums that are pre-rooted.

I rooted 7.4.9 with Root Many Android. I didn't flash bootloaders or roms or anything, but root worked.

thanks for the help, noob question tho im not sure what you mean by images that are pre rooted

You can download a drive image that is already rooted. Imagine someone roots the device & then makes a copy of the entire drive.

You mean the Bin4ry script, right? But which option? He doesn't explicitly support the Kindle Fire HD running 7.4.9.
Thanks.

I found it. Option 3 of Bin4ry (New Standard-Root - Ariel Berkman) roots Kindle Fire HD running 7.4.9.

Bin4ry is the *root many Android* tool. It's the same process that's rooted the Kindle for some time although I didn't know it did 7.9 but it won't hurt to try. If it fails you won't hurt your tablet.

Install 2nd bootloader + TWRP following these instructions...
I wrote instructions to someone else already as well. I have done this to 2 7.4.9 tablets.

I can't root with PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.09 .and I get this message:
SEARCHING FOR THE PHONE (connect it now if you haven't yet)... found!

Rebooting your phone... done!
Running exploit step 2 of 3 (modifying local.prop)... done!
Rebooting your phone... done!
Running exploit step 3 of 3 (adding su, busybox, and superuser.apk)... FAIL!
ERROR: adb could not be granted root access via local.prop method
Try again from the start, but if the problem continues, check your version
of Gingerbread -- hopefully you don't have a version where this exploit
was fixed.
I rooted with Motofail. The "Root Checker Advanced" show that the Droid is Rooted.
I tried again PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.09 and I get the some massage from the top.
Is the Droid Rooted? I don't think so because I can't uninstall system apps. What I have do to please. thanks

so either radio flash is failing or build.prop replacement is failing

Your signature says you are 'rooted' already, but maybe 'unlocked' is the better term? Since your phone appears to be unlocked and s-off, you are all set to use custom 'rooted' ROMs. There are several rooted Lollipop ROMs to choose from in the development section.

You must be rooted in order to use the flash fire. If your not already rooted you will need to download towelroot.com. download and install it. If it says your version is not supported then you'll need to downgrade to nce and then root. Then you'll be able to use flash fire to flash the stock rooted rom that i posted earlier.

cf-auto root problem

Sm-n910t T-mobile
(Update)
I ended up having to do a factory reset so it's working nice and smooth now. So the question is should I go about flashing a custom rom in Odin then using TWRP and as my custom recovery? Or just try it again or wait it out until more people have more success?
(EDIT) MY PHONE ISNT STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP BUT NOW ITS EXTREMLY SLOW.
I used this guide to root my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428/page160 did I miss anything ? should a flash twp onto my phone? im a complete noob to this and I made the mistake of rooting my main phone first please help.
well I woke this morning to my phone stuck in a bootloop it started to act funny right as I had to go to sleep. I cleared the cache didn't work so I had to factory reset and it worked but said my phone was no longer rooted so I repeated the process and rerooted my phone but now its in in the bootloop again what should I do to fix this?
