[Q] Restore to Stock - S-ON - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
I'm trying to get my phone back to my carrier's stock but I'm running into some issues.
I can't use a RUU because I have one of the "Whelp" non-s-off phones. Most guides on here as well require you to have s-off to do.
Any idea's on how to bring a S-ON'd phone back to stock?
Thanks,
Basttrax

you can still use a RUU if it's the same version of your current software or newer

I'm getting to the point with the RUU that the screen goes to the black HTC screen. Then I get a "HTC_Fastboot.exe has crashed" error.

***RELOCKED***

Hi,
During the procedure of unrooting my phone, i notice that the bootloader now has a status RELOCKED.
I was wondering if theres a method out there that will change the status to LOCKED instead of RELOCKED.
I need it to be locked cause i have to send me phone back for warranty as its not charging full even with a diff batt/charger/cable/power point.
Hope you Gurus will be able to help me out.
Please advice...:fingers-crossed:

Well i reckon that was what i did. i ran the below RUU.
RUU_VIVO_ICS_35_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_4.10.707.1_Radio_20.74.30.0833U_3831.18.00.11_M_release_266513_signed
But i still got RELOCKED status.
Was wondering if HTC will void my warranty if i send me phone in with RELOCKED status.

go into android development and go to fallen suicidals thread the all in one noob downgrade thing, theres a link to a ruu in there and you pretty much wanna do what that says except the s off part. you will downgrade and run a ruu then gets it back to gingerbread with hboot 1.16 it will be locked and htc should accept it

i need to download the relevant RUU to force back into stock, the RUU i need is only in OTA.ZIP format which the All In One tool (that was so kindly pressented to me on a silver platter ) doesnt like. I am an expert in unlocking / locking the bootloader though...

Not to worry. When we have S-OFF you can flash any RUU you like. So it will be back to stock. The only bad thing is if you REALLY want to have all the Vodafone bloatware back that came from your original ROM. But there are other vodafone RUUs I think, but just not from your region.

[Q] 4.3 Sprint RUU

Hi, I was wondering if there was going to be an RUU for 4.03.651.2 firmware. I tried to take the update with an outdated version of TWRP, and I would like to go back to stock and reroot. I have tried and failed to gain S-Off with Revone and moonshine. I am unsure of what to do. My phone is not recognized by ADB in recovery, so I cannot use the S-Off workaround to flash an old RUU. Any suggestions/responses are appreciated.
Thanks,
Vobeyo

Hmm... I just assumed that there wouldn't be an RUU for 1.31. Do you know of any way to gain S-Off so that I can flash the 1.29 RUU?
RUU
This can be very frustrating, I know.
I used Moonshine to achieve S-OFF, yesterday. Reason was because I managed to delete almost everything, I still don't know exactly what happened. However, if I remember correctly, you need S-On in order to run a stock RUU. There are several threads that pretty much will walk you thru the steps needed to flash the RUU. I was on them yesterday.
Good luck.

You don't need S-Off or S-On to run the RUU, but the bootloader has to be locked (or relocked). Believe that I read that HTC was going to not release RUUs any more because they didn't want others to tear them apart, etc. But don't quote me on that one...
From my understanding, S-Off is required to flash an RUU for a firmware version that does not match the version you are currently on. Could you please refer me to one of these threads? I would appreciate it very much.

I've also heard the same however how can I gain S-Off without mounting the internal storage? Or ADB? I can't get either to work.

I believe that if you have a custom recovery installed, you can use the workaround by accessing the terminal from the recovery, type the command, and then lock the bootloader. I am not completely sure on that, though.
If your on 4.3 there is no RUU and no s-off exploit at this time. This is why it's always recommended to root/s-off before you update.

If you updated your phone to latest sprint 4.3 that's it you cannot instal RUU any more
s-on s-off not gonna help you
you can download naked drivers for htc one http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachd...river_0.72.zip but first delate/uninstal all htc/syn drivers
and jus push any 4.3 rooted rom to your phone and install g-luck
Don't know if this will help you or not, just stumbled across it a couple of minutes ago.

[Q] Bootloop - Tryed to RUU to Wrong Version

Ok I wanted to try out CM so I unlocked the bootloader, flashed a custom recovery and CM. I had some connectivity issues so i wanted to go back to stock. Well after locking to bootloader I flashed the 1.29 RUU without knowing I shouldn't (my hBoot was 1.55). Now I am stuck in a bootloop, my recovery is corrupt somehow (says I have no partitions). I have no idea what to do. I have looked through every thread i can find and nothing seems to work.
All I want to do is get this working again. Running stock would be nice but I really don't care at this point.
Any advice?

RUU For 4M Radio

Hey Guys. Im looking to unroot yet another HTC One m7. AT&T continues to send me defective devices. This one is a 1.57 Hboot 4M.27.3218.15 radio. I cant find a RUU for this setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

radio version is irreverent when searching for a RUU. CID, MID and version-main are the information needed to find one. Best thing is to post your output of "fastboot getvar all' except your imei and serialno. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any AT&T ruu for version on hboot 1.57.
Latest RUU for AT&T (CID: CWS__001 MIDN0712000) is 4.18.502.7 and will require s-off because its a downgrade (hboot 1.56)

If you have to send the phone for warranty I will even recommend you to use the 1.26.501.8 RUU (hboot 1.44) so you can remove the tampered flag from bootloader because it might come back if removed on hboot 1.55 and up.
Take a look at nkk71's guide linked in my signature.

I've done this a few times now so I'm no stranger to thing. Last two times I did the 1.56 update, plus I have those files downloaded already. They keep sending me refurbs and each one they send has build quality issues. Its unreal.

Well return it to stock so you can send it for warranty again and ask for an upgrade to another model. Explain that you are not satisfied with this model because you have experienced issues on each replacement units. Might worth a try...
