Hello everyone! Thank you for your time.
I have a AT&T HTC One from launch day. I recently flashed the AT&T stock ROM for 4.4.2 over an old 4.2 Google Play Edition ROM for my phone. I used ADB Sideload in TWRP 2.5 to do so. I also rooted. After flashing, I was fine for about a day, but then two issues occurred.
1) I can no longer send texts. I receive them fine and the phone works otherwise for calls, Wi-Fi, data, etc. but nobody I've texted is receiving texts. I've tried using a third-party client and the built in one.
2) If I reboot the phone, the phone will boot up normally, work for about a minute or two, then reboot again. This cycle repeats until I flash again. Clearing the caches does not help. I'm still able to access everything until it reboots and getting into the Settings menu seems to prevent this issue from occurring, but I have no idea why this is happening.
I know I can always flash another ROM and those seem to work fine, but I'd really like to stick with stock or a similar-stock experience where I can root. Anyone that can recommend a solution or a ROM that's close to stock would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Did you change your MID & CID back to stock? Did you flash the stock AT&T firmware? You can get the latest from this post.

I didn't, but I never changed it to begin with. When I flashed the GPE, did it change that?

You can tell the GPE firmware by the Black bootloader screen.
new recovery and reflash rom and you should be in good shape

Updating the recovery helped me reflash the ROM without issue and I'm up and running! Thank you very much!

Hi
Well after making the jump from iOS I've been loving my HTC one and this forum. However I've hit a bit of a snag and I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me out. I've had a search around on the forums and couldn't find any answers so I thought I would post here.
I have an unbranded Australian HTC one. I have s-off, Super CID, unlocked the bootloader, rooted, flashed the 2.24.401.1 firmware and got twrp installed.
I was using the ARHD12.1 ROM, when I noticed that after work a day or two ago I wasn't able to get any sound back after keeping the phone on vibrate despite having the volume indicator on full. The battery was pretty low.
I could send and receive SMS,access the internet, make calls and see that they are connected but I would get
No dial tone,
Was unable to hear the person on the other end of the phone line and they could not hear me.
Can't play music
YouTube won't play videos at all.
Phone freezes when trying to play ring tones
No sound through headphones
I have tried (to no avail):
Using a previous nandoid.
Flashed multiple different ROMS (ARHD GE 3, SinlessROM GE 4.3, Bigxie Ge as well as the ARHD 12.1 again).
Reflashing the firmware, reinstalling twrp and reflashing the ROMs.
Deleting any new apps in the last couple of days to see if they have had any part
The soundabout app to force sound through speakers.
Not signing into gmail mail account after flashing a ROMto stop any new apps being downloaded.
Sound wasn't coming back after flashing a ROM initially (lasted try is Bigxie's GE4.3 Rom), but now it seems to work only if the battery is over 50%. Sound then disappear after the phone is rebooted. Flashing a rom with battery under 50% seems to have no sound either.
Its as if the phone is being muted somehow.
So I'm just wondering has anyone got any ideas?
Are there any other (audio) system files I some how able to reinstall?
Or should I revert it to stock and try for a replacement?
Thanks for any help.
Very strange!
Are you running tasker or llama? (If you don't know what they are then the answer is probably no ).
Did you do a full wipe when flashing the roms?

Yep running tasker. But I've been running it since I first got the phone with no issues. The same thing happens when I've haven't got tasker installed though.
I've tried factory wipes, format data and I think i;ve tried advanced wipe as well inbetween ROM reinstalls.
Its a mystery to me

Hi, so I made the dumb mistake of deleting the OS from my HTC One (Sprint). I got the One deodexed stock Jelly Bean rom from Android Revelution HD. Sideloaded it onto the phone and went into TWRP recovery to install the zip. It says the install was successful, however, when I hit reboot, it doesn't start into the rom. It just stays on the bootloader screen and sometimes I have to fastboot flash a recovery in order to get back into TWRP. I have tried fastboot erase cache and have also tried factory resetting it and wiping cache/dalvik cache before I install. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas???

If it was me, I would just RUU and start over. Once that is done, boot it up transfer your rom over to the internal storage via usb while booted up. Then go back into fastboot, flash newest TWRP recovery and flash your rom. Also I don't think that rom supports the Sprint Variant at least that what is says under the details section. That could be part of your issues as well. I usually stay away from roms that weren't specifically made for my version but that's just me.

You're right. I checked and it's not compatible with Sprint. I downloaded the 31.6, but now I can't install it? Something about error with partitions. I've thought about doing the RUU but thought it might be more difficult.

RUU is easy. Just boot into fastboot, connect usb and launch the RUU. Once it's done then flash recovery and a different rom. It won't affect your s-off either if you are. I am currently using stock with goodies. It's a little older but it's rock solid, bloat is all gone, no blink feed and awesome battery. Will be switching once kit kat officially drops.

RUU was SO much easier! Only problem is I can't get service now? It says I have Sprint service and there are some signal bars, but it doesn't say 3G or anything. Anyone have this problem after RUU?

Try resetting the radio. ##786 then reset. You will need your MSL there are a few ways to get it. When I first activate a new phone, I always get in the habit of getting the MSL so I just have it. If you don't have it just call Sprint and ask. If you get some moron CSR just hang up and call back don't argue. I also don't like to use the word MSL when asking, I always say reset code so you can reset your phone most the time they will give it to you.

Hi all,
So I wanted to flash ViperOne and saw that it requires 2.6.3.3 for TWRP, so I went and found 2.6.3.4, and went through a big excursion trying to get that to work with ViperOne 5.0.0, and it turns out doing all that somehow really messed my phone up. I don't get service, I can't set the phone up, it has a bunch of problems. I managed to get TWRP 2.6.3.0 working for my phone, and flashed ViperOne 3.5.0 but do not get any service on it, same with just about every ROM I run now. It can't even get to the setup screen, which is a big problem as well.
Any idea what I may have done to mess my phone up so badly? I'm really starting to freak out over here.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Managed to get a backupe restored from a while ago of ViperOne 3.5.0, but it constantly restarts on me, as well as my data doesn't work. When I turn Mobile Data on it immediately says "Disconnected" and will not find a data network. Any ideas?

Does it matter that I never actually flashed a ROM for a GSM device? I stuck to only flashing ROMs that are compatible for my device, it was just the recovery I flashed wrongly.

OK, awesome. That makes a lot of sense, as it was having a lot of errors involving mounting. I am downloading one of his S-ON firmwares now, and am going to go about attempting to fix it using that guide. I will update with the results.
ok, so i rooted my htc one to stock, using an ruu that was suggested by a user on here last weekend. it all seemed good, but on sunday, while i was working my phone rebooted itself, for no reason, however i thought it might have been because of a root app i had installed. i had to put it in recovery mode, and wait until i was off work to fix it, by reflashing it(i hadnt had a chance to make a backup in twrp). well i now have a backup of my phone, so yay, but and it hadnt forced a reboot until just now. the thing is it had been good all day today, and i had tried installing the MIUI Rom following a thread on here. the rom worked and all, but it also had issues such as data not wanting to connect, freezing up etc, so i went and returned to my backup i made today(when everything was perfect) and i made a phone call, and after the call the phone rebooted. and its back to its old ways. im restoring again to see if it helps, but does anyone know why it does that?
when my phone did that it was cause I had the unknown baseband issue. Could be worth a try to see if thats your issue.

Link to the MIUI ROM? Only install ROMs that you see in the Sprint HTC One section, not in the International HTC One section. Try flashing the latest radio to fix the phone call problem.
If that root app was SuperSU, then flash this zip.

the rom i use is from the sprint htc one m7 forums, it worked and i was able to make a call, but the screen hung alot and my buttons became unresponsive due to the assist thingy. upon a restart, i didnt have data connections. im kind of nervous about messing with my radio, because even though my signal sucks where i live, i dont want to mess up and not have a signal. i updated the SuperSU (i was using 1.87 and i flashed it to 2.02) hopefully i see no issues, but it usually takes a day and a half.

Flashing radio is your best bet. Verify the md5 before flashing and you'll be fine.

I recently rooted my HTC a few days ago. I downloaded Titanium Backup to get rid of the Sprint bloatware. Did it and everything was fine. However, a few hours ago I turned my phone off as I had a speech to deliver. Turned it back on and now it is rebooting every 15-30 seconds. Also, my text messaging is weird. I use hangouts and the messages stay on "sending" and yet apparently they are sent since I am getting replies. I am using Google Hangouts. I can still make calls and all that so I know I still have service. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I DO NOT have S-Off. Just a standard root, if that helps. My guess is that I most likely uninstalled something I shouldn't have. If so, could anyone provide a stock HTC rom or app package I can flash? Is this even possible since I don't have S-Off?

i believe the standard messaging app is still required for texting even if hangouts is handling it. did you uninstall stock messaging? also as a rule of thumb i tend to freeze instead of uninstall the apps that way i dont have to hunt down a flash if it messes up. this is also why you always make a nandroid anytime you mess with your phone's software.

Nope, I did not uninstall the stock messaging app. And yeah, I forgot to do a nandroid backup. Do you know where I can find a stock ROM to flash? Do I need S-Off to flash roms?
What version of SuperSU do you have installed? I recall seeing an issue awhile back where some other folks were having reboot issues and flashing the newest version of SuperSU fixed their issue. If that doesn't fix your issue you'll need to reflash your ROM. You can take a look at the thread in the link below, also. It has stock backups that you can load and install via recovery. You can also run the RUU that's the equivalent of what you're currently running.
Stock backups:

RUU's:

Once you get things running again, make sure you make a backup in TWRP.
