hey, am not aNOOB but am xperia NOOB
rooting sony phones looking to be harder than sammy's!
any ways, there are suggestions to root FW 133 by flashing a rootable firmware then root after that flashing!
does it lag? or get heated by this process? or is there any better ways to root?

Rooting an Xperia phone has never been as easy as now. I recommend using Easyroot Tool in Cross Development Section. I rooted my phone in 2 minutes and then installed dual recovery. Rooting itself doesn't cause any lag or heat issues, it depends on the Rom you install. Anyway it's very easy and as for Roms I'm using iHackers 4.1

It does if you flash the .108 kernel, then root, then flash the 133 kernel back.
As does @[NUT]'s method to install dual recovery on a non rooted device

Hi,
I just recently got the xperia TX and would like to root it. I've checked the threads but it seems like all of them revolve around the T. Are they the same thing? Meaning the methods that they use for the T, can I use it for the TX too ?
If not, can anybody knowledgeable point me towards the right thread? Thanks
I'm currently on 3.212 FW.
You need to do a bit of reading before you could root your TX.
Check whether your bootlodaer can be unlocked under service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*)
You can find the complete guide on everything about rooting under this threadQ&A][ALL IN ONE Xperia T/TX/TL/V Collection]
I believe Binary method will work on tx, i hope someone with more knowledge rooting tx will reply to help you.
You do not need to be able to unlock the boot loader in order to root.
@OP
Just go ahead and use the method by bin4ry to root your phone

well if you want the latest firmware, update using pccompanion first and then root. If youu dont want the latest firmware, just root it now
I'm TX user, my method, using Flashtool flash your tx to 7.0.A.1.307 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933755), then root (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460), install cwm (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007741), and download XperimenT version 1.7.1 with locked bootloader or you can choose other rom, probably this the the only best 1 for TX user in my opinion. After flashing with cwm then flash with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2114664) using cwm. reboot, everything done. hope it will help you.

Root and CWM methods that worked perfectly on Xperia T with JB :good:. But now with 7.0.A.3.197 ICS on Xperia TX...fail... I changed the Xperia T with TX because of appearance, but now I miss JB and root. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Upgrade to JB and use Bin4rys method to root.
JB has not yet appeared for TX. I do not understand why Sony has not updated both models T and TX together . Understand that there is no root method for ICS 7.0.A.3.197?
Apologies, I thought you had a T, my mistake.
Instead downgrade to a .305 firmware, then root that, then flash a rooted .197 firmware or an ics rooted Rom for the T and flash the tx fix

Thanks, but I think I'll wait 1-2 weeks to officially appear JB for TX :crying:

Mmm.. TX user still can't upgrade to Jelly bean. Sony say first of april only can get jelly bean for TX. Other than patient I don't know what else can be done. Root and CWM only work well on 7.0.A.1.307.
yup, same thing im doing. waiting for jellybean to root with binary's method. hopefully all the major bugs are fixed on jellybean. camera quick launch bug really bothers me, it's one of the most distinctive features of Sony and yet they managed to screw that up for over a year now.
Sony developers are really not doing their jobs properly. Took over 3 updates for the xperia S to get rid of the camera quick launch and after that, they don't apply the same fix to the newer phones? Really shocks me.

Hello guys, i have been playing around with the new offical 4.3 rom, I have found a little way for now to get rooted, take a look below...
***Disclaimer, I am not responsible if you blow up your phone, loose data, or do anything silly, I am merely trying to help, and point people in the right direction***
Okay it's a long winded approach to get rooted, but i guess it will have to do for the time being... Until a new updated rooting tool is available.
Here we go then , you will need these things:
SuperSU Install zip
Doomkernel v08 kernel.elf file
Stock Sony 4.3 kernel, attached to this post.
UBL (Unlocked Boot Loader!)
A brain and common sense.
Lets go then, first install the stock android 4.3 FTF....
Once this is done disconnect your phone, put it into fastboot mode and install the Doomkernel. Now upon boot, go into recovery, and install the SuperSU zip normally.
Once this is done, power off your phone (Holding down the power and volume up)
Go into Fastboot mode again, and install the provided stock Sony 4.3 Kernel.
Unplug your phone, boot it, and there you go, rooted stock android 4.3.
If you have any questions ask, no question is too stupid, or PM me and i'll help you best I can.
Reserved for more information, FaQ ETC...
I guess its only for unlocked bootloaders, because after flashing custom kernel on locked BL xperia, it won't boot.

No this method is only for Unlocked bootloader.
V7 should work just fine, all we are after is the recovery to flash the SuperSU
Thanks a lot it's working
Never did before on sony and the biggest problem for me was entering in recovery, so just in case, to enter recovery, when LED is pink press {vol up for 2012 models} or {vol down for 2011 models}
(used 1268-6904 Generic Nordic)

HELP ME!

I tried this method on my Xperia V. I flashed the kernel then accidentally booted into android. Soft bricked. So I flashed back Sony kernel.
Working now but now there is something wrong with the screen.
I'm not sure what's wrong but it looks like the gamma is too high. I'll post a picture.

This is stock .201 with root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312 (I installed to v1.1. Dipesh is putting in some additional stuff later but I prefer it to be "stock". My fav as far as "stock" is concern)
This is stock+Z2 looks with root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043 (I am currently on this, and installed up to V2. I like this a lot and most likely will not 'update' unless there is a very strong reason to do so)

OK there are so many root methods on net that made me confused, i want to root my friend's SP
there is oneclick root and etc, the reason i want to root is to improve the performance of hes phone, so i also want TWRP for flashing custom ROM!
how can i get root and TWRP on he's phone? as i know oneclick just roots the phone, is the only way to flash ROMs to unlock bootloader from sony's website?

Just unlock bootloader with sony website or flashtool, than you can root it with towel root or with flashing custom kernel with recovery (doomkernel or williamskernel) and flashing superSU that way. If you want recovery on stock, use this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
thanks, can you recommend me any LL ROMs? just basically any for performance, he won't care much! i don't know what roms are available for sp, i googeld slim and etc but i only found 4.4.4 versions! res mix was only lollipop
edit: is it a good idea to flash lollipop? are they stable? for example is CM12 unoffical stable and good? i see i have to flash a lot of fixes for it!

I've found a solution in the Z5 forum, will try it a soon as possible....

By the way, i've seen that Trilliard uses the old .244 kernel in his SuperSlimRom v1.2.
