Hello community.
My z1 this with a strange bug, I'm leaving a video to demonstrate what happens. multiple touches happen however anyone touching the screen, so the touches happen without anyone having touched them.
Already formatted the device and the error continues, anyone know a solution?
Sorry for my bad English.
Thank you!

Do you have a case or a screen protector?
Does this happen if you hold the phone in your hands or use it on a flat surface? The latter is an issue that affects some users, so it seems to be a hardware defect

So I am wondering if any of the wonderful people here at XDA are experiencing screen issues with the nook color. I have had my unit about a week, and have had numerous episodes of the screen registering touches randomly. This issue is apparently not isolated as there are youtube videos and a B&N support forum thread discussing the matter.
So is anyone out there having any touchscreen craziness? If so are you doing anything about it? Not sure if I should return my unit and get another or wait for some possible firmware update...
As always any wisdom is appreciated!
http://nookdevs.com/Recalibrate_the_NookColor_touch_screen
Says at the top recalibrating will fixes "phantom touches" or inaccurate touches, or not respond to reasonable touches.
Mine was doing the same. I bought a screen protector and so far it hasn't happened.
My screen wasn't having "phantom touches," but at times I would press near the top and bottom edges, it seems to not be very responsive there. For example, pressing the search button in the marketplace that's at the very top right. Or pressing one of the buttons at the bottom menu.
I wiped my device back to factory and then did the latest Auto-Nooter, and started using Go Launcher. Things are much better now it seems. I think it may still happen occasionally though.

Not just the phantom but inaccurate touches which sounds like yours, atm thats all ive seen about fixing screen stuff.
But other threads have been started where others have the same problem on the outer parts of the screen so it could be a Firmware/Hardware problem.

works for me, in that the process completes, but the touchscreen is the same. The sensitivity issue at the edges is universal and very frustrating.

Try running calibration while holding a finger on the screen near the edge.

Hi!
My phone got a broken screen, but I got a replacement device from the insurance.
Trouble is, after a while with screen on the screen seems to become hypersensitive - it's nearly impossible to enter text through the display keyboard or just to zoom and move a webpage
After switching the screen off and back on again immediately it's OK again for a while.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour? I reckon it's a hardware problem, but maybe someone has a different explanation for this problem?
Do you have any Screen Protectors? Just the Original ASF?
I didn't change anything with the phone except for the ROM (can't stand stock ), so it's still the original one.
What does ASF mean?

You should have the Anti-Shutter Film on your screen with the Sony Logo, many reported sensitivity problem after remove it. If you have ASF sometime apply another Anti-Glare Screen Protector on it can help (like in my case) with the touch screen.
Well, i have noticed that if i lift my finger a little bit from the screen (a few mm), this one is like if i still touching it only responses when a lift more my finger, so i cant type fast, anyone else is having this issue?
Sorry for my bad english
Yes, do a search in questions sub forum. But several people including myself have this Phantom touch issue. Screen is too sensitive.
As someone who uses phone as Mini Computer for.presentations , proposals with photos sent in desktop
Email- this could be a problem for typing.
Is sensitivity reduced tempered glass protector ?

Even at over a full mm? Is glove mode enabled by any chance?

Hi,
I have recently bought my tablet, in last two days my tablets acts a bit crazy, sometimes I touch a point but another point reactions
for example when i`m typing and press a word it types another word or opens notifications or even gets out of application.
How can I solve my problem?
thanks
Touch does occasionally seem to be off a bit for me as well. I keep wondering if the problem is my tempered glass screen protector and me being used to a device that has an extremely sensitive touch screen.
This can sometimes happen when using the tablet while plugged into the charger. Especially if not using the factory provided USB charging cable.

After removing the screen protector my inaccuracy issue went away. So my issue was probably different than the original poster...

it seems that it is relevant with electricity since this problem happens only when I hold it in my hand

I was just having this problem until I lost it when it continuously costed me a win in Real Racing 3 lol. Do you have sweaty palms? Or a screen protector? Mine is pretty old and would change it to a new one, I think the sweat piled up so it blocks some touch response and ghosts a touch somewhere in the screen, anyways, in the meantime I tried THIS and it somehow increased touch detection.

thanks man i tried and im waiting to see if it works !!
It wont fix, its manufacturing fault. Tempered glass will reduce it from happening.
Did you remove the original protector with Sony logo?
Remove the original ASF with Sony logo (antishatter film) as it is such a scratch prone. Replace with tempered glass and those touch issues should be history.
