No, don't do it. Downgrading causes bricks. You must always use same version or newer.

You cannot downgrade at all. Every major release comes with a new bootloader which cannot be downgraded.

Just out of curiosity (don't really know if I can help) did you try going step by step (sequentially by each build) or did you try going straight to the newest one?

Here ya go, went with the NE3 firmware instead of the NH3, i'll slim it down as close as possible to a AOSP ROM.
The battery life is a lot better with the ROM

you cannot for the love of you phone flash back to 4.4 , there is an line people who have bricked there device going back to 4.4 in both moto g 1st gen and here in second gen.
I regret to announce i am one of them from moto g 1st gen , still waiting for blank file to review my device !
Thread in the wrong section. There's a Question and Answers section within this sub-forum. Read the rules and use your common sense. But to answer to your question, yes, you can go back to KK by flashing stock with mfastboot, I've done it multiple times in the past coming from Lollipop.

I actually downgraded from android 5.0.2 to 4.4.4 just flashing the microcat rom and do a clean install

Since it was taken, I removed the a.
A senior member on a thread said that flashing other models rom can be pretty harmful.
After you flash the Brazil firmware you cannot flash kitkat cuz your phone will get bricked.
Some people were also reporting that they weren't able to call.
I'll just wait for a stock based rom

Well you have to be completely stock in order to flash ota.
But here is the thing...
If you face any problem you won't be able to downgrade or expect to resolve your issue until the Indian firmware is actually released which could take some weeks

You need to be as close to stock as possible. The OTA's have a pre-flash validation check in them. If anything on your phone varies from what the pre-check wants to see (missing or wrong files, wrong build.prop values, etc), the OTA install will fail.
Also, you must have stock recovery, or you'll get stuck in a bootloop trying to install the OTA.
There are a few threads around on taking an OTA. And I collected some info at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-OTA.html

why south america first in the updates ?
Because the indians simply complain too much. Twitter and forums are full of whining. "I´ll never consider you again when doing tech purchases." "That´s what you do with a former flagship" "Answer me, I´m a precious indian customer, why does the update take so long!?"
Don´t want to be mean, but the steady whining was just unnerving. I want to have the update too, though it´s still just a software update..

Any other racial stereotypes you have about Indians? By all means, go on. Don't just stop at calling us whiny. I'm sure you can do better.
Funniest part of any form of stereotyping is when you do it to others you inadvertently end up justifying the generalisations they have about yours.
Guys, here on XDA we do not differ between nationalities/races/whatever. We are all one community, treating everyone equally.
There is no place for stereotypes here on XDA, so please don't post about it in the future.
Hi i hope someone can help me i would like to go back to stock Kitkat after being on CM12 lollipop for a while but i am unsure iff i have downloaded the correct stock rom. Could someone please have a look and let me know iff i have downloaded the correct Rom. This is the rom i downloaded XT1052_RETAIL-EU_4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26_54_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml. Before i flashed cm12 i was running Kitkat 4.4.4 and i am in the UK. I intend to do this procedure using Rsdlite.
Make sure you dont downgrade... put your phone in fastboot mode and check the bootloader version of your phone and let me know... AFAIK you Will be ok with the firmware you downloaded... Just take more precautions before flashing through rsd.. REMEMBER NEVER DOWNGRADE or else you will be hard bricked... As long as you dont downgrade and your firmware version matches your carrier you are good to go...

Ok i think you are all ready and set up to flash the stock firmware, again make sure that your phone is XT1052. And then go ahead and flash that stock firmware... And dont forget to edit the XML file and remove the lines that have "getvar'" written in them.. Save the xml file and flash through rsd.. again take precaution of the Boot loader you dont want to downgrade!
Here is a little heads up or info of boot loader's according to the firmwares for you :
30.70: original 4.2.2
30.71: 4.2.2 camera update
30.B2: 4.4
30.B4: 4.4.2
30.B7: 4.4.4
The order that I've written above is: (Bootolader: Android Version)
So you are on 30.B7 bootloader right now so you can flash 4.4.4 easily... But DONT EVER TRY TO FLASH BELOW 4.4.4...
Good luck mate...

IF the original motorola back is on the phone, there is some very fine/small print at the bottom of the back. It will have the FCC ID, Model number, etc. It could be hard to see, you might have to tilt/twist the phone so the light shines off it just right, or use a magnifying glass if you're my age.

Im surprised i think you should at least be on 4.4.4 by now but perhaps its a carrier restriction. The reason i want lollipop update is because i am now wanting to sell the phone and it will demand a slightly higher value being on the latest software.

I am familiar with this issue it used to happen to me too sometimes. CM12 is very good but i think because their is not a stable release yet their are still some little glitches. Otherwise most of the time it works really well and very customisable. Iff i wasnt going to sell my phone i would have definetly stayed with cm12 their doing a great job.
