I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Can you flash the Nokia 630 (ATT) to the Nokia 635 (T-Mobile) so you can use their built-in WiFi calling on TMO.
To delete.
Has anyone tried flashing another version to the T-Mobile version? If so, did everything work out and were you able to use the WiFi calling?
If I upgrade my Nokia Lumia 635 to the latest Developer Preview and have problems, can I restore my phone to the original firmware using the Nokia Care Suite?
My Lumia 635 is from Koodo here in Canada
Thanks

So... Is it possible to flash the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 635 ROM to an AT&T Nokia Lumia 635? I got the AT&T variant at Microsoft Store online, and I would like to have T-Mobile's WiFi Calling... Is there any successful story with flashing T-Mobile's rom on AT&T's variant? (Is there such a thing as locked bootloader in the Windows Phone world?, because on Android... AT&T phones are useless because of locked bootloaders..., not sure if the same applies for AT&T Windows Phones...)
I was on the Windows Phone area long ago here on XDA... Now I am in the Android section, and I lost track of how things currently work in the Windows Department... Thank you!

I haven't heard one yet and didn't want to take the chance. I bought mine from Amazon for T-Mobile to make sure I had the WiFi calling, which works amazingly well.

Hi,
All the same. If you have got the FFU error, you can not flash, at least for now until a functional bypass is found. Sorry. The NAMs (especially AT&T) is a lock at this level, making them difficult to flash.

Thank you for answering... I decided to simply cancel the order for the $39 AT&T 635 and paid $99 for the T-Mobile 635... Wifi Calling is really important... Lol... Better spend $60 extra and have peace of mind...
My conclusion is that not just Android phones @ AT&T are crap... But All phones @ AT&T are junk... (if you want to root/custom recovery/flash...)
I have the nokia 635 att RM-975

So, as I've spent a few hours guessing out how the puzzle of type-code-firmware goes, I'll post it here hoping it will help someone:
For every model, there are three variables into consideration.
First is the Product type, in the form RM-xxx. This refers to the hardware specifications of the device, and obviously can't be changed. Different product types mean some major or minor difference in the hardware.
Then is the Product code, in the form of seven alphanumeric digits. Each code corresponds, and is followed by, the product type to which it applies (RM-xxx), plus "VAR" (meaning variant), plus a series of shortened words giving information about what can we expect to find in the firmware: the geographical region and/or country for which it's meant, that will get the OTA (over the air) updates; the brand (service provider) shipped in the firmware (or the letters CV if it's unbranded); the handset colour (only for the default tones we'll find when first powering it up); and some other variable information, like the size of memory, etc. So, it can look like this:
code-------type-----variant---region--provider ------ country memory colour
059T1B8 RM-892 VAR --- EURO SWISSCOM CH ------ 16GB --- GREY
Some of the shorts are easy to guess, some others I have no clue.
Thirdly we have the firmware version, aka ROM or Windows Phone version, which is what we all want to get updated. The version consists of sixteen numbers in groups of four separated by dots. Every Product code ships this or that firmware revision, getting OTA updates every now and then. Different regions, countries or providers get higher updates than others. People in Norway get a different OTA update than those in Hong Kong, and branded phones usually are updated earlier than unbranded ones.
Now, each physical device has a "hardcoded" Product code (that we can find in underneath the SIM-holder). In the example above, it would be a phone bought in Switzerland, sold by Swisscom carrier (and very likely SIM-locked), with 16GB store space, grey colour, and capable of working on certain frequencies. So, now, what can we flash it with? Well, we can flash any Product code as far as it's the same Product type as our phone, without losing any capability. Note: flashing a different Product code will NOT change our phone's original code. And when we switch on the phone, we'll get what we flashed: a default language or set of languages, perhaps a service provider logo, a default colour for the tiles and apps, and of course the features that Bill Gates' staff fancied and condescended to include in the corresponding firmware update. So, if we want the latest version, probably we'll have to flash a Product code not corresponding to our country or region, though I assume that all of them have, at least, English built in. It might also happen (this is my guess) that certain firmwares don't include a setting for LTE, if there is no LTE in the country for which it's meant, even though the device is LTE-capable.
Now, is it possible to flash a Product code corresponding to a different Product type? Yes, but we may lose some capabilities. For example, the Microsoft Lumia 925 is RM-893 in North America and RM-892 in Eurasia. They're capable of different frequencies for the 3G and 4G bands. So, cross-flashing will make us lose all the frequencies not matching both Product types: some because of the hardware, some because of the software. Not much to lose if, in exchange, we're getting a newer Windows Phone version; because, sorry to say, WP really sucks, and the sooner we get the updates, the better. After all, who can yet enjoy LTE? I bet that 97% of the Lumia owners can't.
So far all what I've found about this topic. Enjoy and, if you find I wrote something wrong, please let me know.
Enough good writing/abstract
Finding Product Code and Firmware
What if my product code is not listed anywhere and I want to flash the firmware? Anyway to find it?
Also, NSU's Data Package Manager gives firmware details according to product code, how can I get firmware of different product code to suite my device? Sorry for being noob here.

I received my device as a gift without any boxing or wrapping. Also, it's firmware is pre-release. What I can see only is it's type, which is RM-877 and it is a AT&T variant.
NSU, needs product code to get new associated firmware. And I can't find it anywhere. So, is there any tool/key combination which can detect and tell me the product code?
And what if the product code I find, is not listed?

Yes, my device is Nokia Lumia 1020 Black with RM-877_nam_usa_005.
However, current firmware is 3042.0000.1321.10102 (I believe it is pre-release)
So I hope flashing this device with RM-877 VAR NAM US ATT SL BLACK wont brick my device. I heard that AT&T 1020 devices are bit tricky to flash.

Many thanks, I've found it.
It is : 3056.40000.1349.10387.2001 and is "under testing".
As I wrote on my last post, this phone is to be used in Argentina. It's a present. I wonder what should I do? Do I flash the phone with Latin America firmware (having present that these firmwares are RM-915 and mine is 914)? Should I keep the original of the device? Other possibility could be flash it with Spain firmware which is 914, update is already available. Maybe I'd better wait the original firmware, right?

Actually what i am trying to do is replace a branded canadian rom with a unbranded one, the problem is finding the product code on the one sold at the microsoft store so i can download it. The problem is not technical, i am just looking for the 7 character code. why i mentioned AT&T is because it may work to replace the AT&T rom, someone may want to give it a try.

There are currently no unbranded ROM for USA or Canada.
"sold at the microsoft store" = I guess they sell with unbranded ROM (for compatible country).
- Either you take the AT&T ROM.
- Either you take a unbranded ROM of country other than those mentioned above.
059V0R9 RM-877 LTA VAR AR CV SKD is the only unbranded ROM for RM-877, it is Argentina.
Microsoft store links to unlocked 1020
The phones in question are:
For canada - microsoftstore.com/store/msca/en_CA/pdp/Unlocked-Nokia-Lumia-1020/productID.305260100
For US - microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Unlocked-Nokia-Lumia-1020/productID.304844200
on the US page they say "This unlocked phone can be used with either AT&T or T-Mobile. It is not compatible with Verizon or Sprint. SIM card not included." as the AT&T version has AWS disabled, i am assuming it has a different ROM to allow full use on T-Mobile. Also, they only started selling these versions a few weeks ago, so i figure the product code is new, which is why it is not in the links in anaheiim's lumia unbranding thread. (The unbranding thread is very good BTW, thanks anaheiim!)
As I've said here, there is no unbranded ROM for the American or Canadian NL1020.

Hello there, hopefully one of you guys with more experience can help me out here.
059T019 (AT&T - NAM -Yellow) Core Build ID - 3051.500009.1425.10367
I'd like to use the Unbranded ROM 059W473 - 3051.50009.1424.0002 that shows in NCS
When flashing I get the standard error that "I have chosen the not assigned product code for this device" and I 'OK' that.
Then it appears to starts updating and I get this:
0xFA001304 - Platform ID check fails reasons the FFU file is not meant for this product. The platform ID image does not match with the platform ID of the device and it fails out.
Any ideas?

Sell your AT&T device, and buy a Canadian or Latin American one. Preferably unlocked.
I put this here because I don't know where to place this question.
I have a Nokia Lumia 925.1 with RM-892 code and I would like to know if I could flash the firmware for the RM-893 version on my phone (mainly because I want to enable the 3G AWS bands).
Would I be able to get AWS on the phone or it won't work?
Thanks beforehand.

I want to flash on my Lumia 435 a non carrier firmware without all the bloatware (5-6 apps to be exact). And my questions are:
Where can I find the firmware that is not branded ?
What tool should I use to flash the firmware ?

I want to flash on my Lumia 435 a non carrier firmware without all the bloatware (5-6 apps to be exact). And my questions are:
Where can I find the firmware that is not branded ?
What tool should I use to flash the firmware ?
Thanks !

Hi,
sorry for being (a little?) off-topic, but i've not found a better place to ask: is there a way to unlock this phone from Orange Romania? Product code is 059x0g9. I've followed the tutorial, and i've flashed the firmware recommended above, but when inserting a SIM card from Telecom (a T-Mobile subsidiary), it complains that the phone is locked into other operator's network.
Would i have a better chance by flashing a Vodafone Romania firmware and using one of those cards? Or is this phone doomed to be part of Orange network forever?
Regards,
Cornel

Excuses are not very practical. Could you explain better. But I can flash with Odin, the bootloader is not locked?

Did you get anywhere with this? I have an unlock SM-N920A and want to update to Marshmallow
So N920A or N920T unlocked version work without problem in EU? But, how about custom roms, because I see what developer works for F/I/C/L/K/S/G models, A and T less interest.
I looking to buy note 5 from USA (because C models in EU 1.5-2 times expensive).

so you had problem with OTA, but after everything OK? because, I will root phone. What about GSM frequencies, 3G 4G works good? Did you tried custom roms? Did you have any problems?
Thanks for answer.
AT&T phones will have severe problems with ota updates. You must connect to the AT&T network to receive OTA. Odin firmware cannot download. Updates are useless unless you are on AT&T
