I assume this means that it is not possible to flash different radio firmware to change the operating frequencies on weither 3g or 4g bands?
Can someone please give me an opinion?
maybe possible?
should be possible?
its be done on other HTCs?
or im out of luck it will never happen because....?

This is a VERY good question, one to which I can't seem to find an answer either on these forums.
For month now I've been hoping that the great minds of the XDA pantheon would have found a way for us to flash, say, an EU radio firmware on a HTC One Developer Edition to enable the EU frequency bands (perhaps while dropping the US bands, I couldn't care less), but I can't seem to find anyone who's ever attempted it with any success.
I'm just pining for that Dev Ed in all it's glory with EU freq bands...
Some say it's hardware, but I just can't seem to believe that HTC would go through all the trouble of creating different hardware for each worldly region. It's far simpler to just build the same device for all and then start locking bands.
What I *did* find was that the Qualcomm chipset should allow for all required freqs, it's just not "enabled".
But perhaps I should stop dreaming ?
Kind regards,
Lander.

You can check the bands and frequencies for SPRINT here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_(m8)_cdma-6233.php
For the sim unlock it is up to "firewater" compatibility, since you need to S-OFF your device first.
Regarding compatibility with firewater, your question should be: How can I make sure that my device will be supported by firewater?
The answer: You cant! Its just a matter of luck for the moment.
There are alot of people who successfully S-OFF their devices with firewater, and there are also unlucky persons like me, who cant (i got 2 devices that i cannot S-OFF).
There is also a bounty thread for people which cannot S-OFF:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733870
If SIM unlocking is your concern, I suggest you to buy it unlocked (yeah i know the price is higher).
For the time being there is no provider offering SIM Unlock for Sprint. Believe me, since I have a SPRINT standard M8 device which i cant SIM unlock for the moment.

Thank you for the information..I'm an htc lover...i can buy it factory unlocked in about the same price...but i want that version...i really liked the color combination and what h/k addition offers...i know that i can port the h/k software to another m8 but i like the whole package...it's unique....i live in Greece....bought my friend some months ago an already sim unlocked sprint htc one m7 and it's working fine..So to sum up..if i got it...it's not 100% that i would be able to sim unlock it..... Also i saw on the gsmarena on the lte frequencies sprint version support LTE 800 / 1900 / 2600 my carrier lte frequencies are 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz...... so i should be able to have lte at 2600MHz?

If that dont work:
as member maethem wrote on page 4 in the above thread (he deserves a thank you), this is what worked for me:
Try the following on you responsibility
- You should know your SPC, you can read it with CDMA Workshop or CDMA DFS Tool.
- Install QSPT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2263391)
- enable diag mode ##3424#
- open QPST configuration, from port tab add your device diagnostics port.
- from start clients tab choose service programming then ok & click on read from phone.
- on system tab choose automatic for roam preferences.
- on UMTS System tab choose any for pref service domain & any band (last bottom right) for proffered band.
- click write to phone, then your device should work on GSM mode with modified HTCOMADM_SPCS.apk.

How about reboot phone don't touch anything in mobile network options and go directly to phone info with the 4 digit code *#*#4636#*#* go phone information and change the preferred network type just don't touch anything in the mobile network settings and see if that works.
I had done this on Verizon GPE ROM and got data working by only switching in phone information once I toggled in actual mobile settings I was screwed maybe that will work for you

You should select what ever network type you need in order for your data to work. But if you touch any of the settings in mobile network it just stops working completely. Well at least that's what happened to me but you could also try manipulating the band's that are supported in your location
please help me.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Can you flash the Nokia 630 (ATT) to the Nokia 635 (T-Mobile) so you can use their built-in WiFi calling on TMO.

Has anyone tried flashing another version to the T-Mobile version? If so, did everything work out and were you able to use the WiFi calling?
If I upgrade my Nokia Lumia 635 to the latest Developer Preview and have problems, can I restore my phone to the original firmware using the Nokia Care Suite?
My Lumia 635 is from Koodo here in Canada

So... Is it possible to flash the T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 635 ROM to an AT&T Nokia Lumia 635? I got the AT&T variant at Microsoft Store online, and I would like to have T-Mobile's WiFi Calling... Is there any successful story with flashing T-Mobile's rom on AT&T's variant? (Is there such a thing as locked bootloader in the Windows Phone world?, because on Android... AT&T phones are useless because of locked bootloaders..., not sure if the same applies for AT&T Windows Phones...)
I was on the Windows Phone area long ago here on XDA... Now I am in the Android section, and I lost track of how things currently work in the Windows Department... Thank you!

Hi,
All the same. If you have got the FFU error, you can not flash, at least for now until a functional bypass is found. Sorry. The NAMs (especially AT&T) is a lock at this level, making them difficult to flash.

My conclusion is that not just Android phones @ AT&T are crap... But All phones @ AT&T are junk... (if you want to root/custom recovery/flash...)
I have the nokia 635 att RM-975

Probably, search for those threads that show how to install the HTC modem driver and use QXDM to change the LTE bands. This is assuming that there is hardware support.
You can use NV Calculator or LTE Band Calculator to get the needed value.
You'll have to boot into bootloader and boot to BP Tools in order to install the modem driver on your computer.

I don't think I've ever been prompted to enter a code in QXDM. Everything is done from the PC after booting BP Tools on the phone.

Sorry to disappoint you, but can't be done. Many people have tried to enable LTE band 20 on the Moto XT1225 (and it would be seemingly be more possible with that Quark variant which was sold internationally, rather than the U.S. XT1254)
Using NV calculator, QXDM, QPST, etc, the software changes will show LTE band 20 is enabled but you still won't actually receive/send any signal.
According to this link, the T-mobile variant of the S10 only supports the necessary bands used for T-mobile, (B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850), B12(700), B66(AWS-3), B71(600MHz))
I know that T-mobile lets you unlock your phone under some conditions, so if I where to unlock it, would I get all the necessary bands used on other US carriers?
EDIT: Here's that link https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s10-model-number-sm-g973-differences/
That's SIM unlock, which is unrelated to activated bands. You'd need to access the service menu to see a list of all bands present. Although, one could flash the firmware of their desired carrier and gain access to features on previous generations.
Previous US models were able to access the required bands if the CSC and firmware were updated to the new carrier (I know from the S7 and S8. I cannot speak for the S10 though.

I've been thinking about buying a Chinese model, or any unlocked snapdragon model. Since they have the same chipset, do you think I could gain the necessary bands for a US carrier? For example, I dont think they support band 71 out of box. Im wondering if since they probably use the same modem, if it would be easy to somehow unlock those bands through firmware
From the t-mobile website: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-39456
4G LTE
2, 4, 5, 12, 66, 71, LTE-U/LAA 46

Unfortunately, I am not sure if you can flash the US Snapdragon firmware onto the Chinese model. In theory, it sounds possible.
