Battery Not Charging Over 89% with Kitkat - HTC Sensation XL

I have gone through all the related threads and i found some measure that the Battery should be 3.7v and their could be some battery tweaks that might be not supporting. I'm not sure this is phone issue or the Kitkat rom I installed ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602094 ) has some issue. And even I'm new to the forum so your help and suggestion would be helpful. And I purchased a new Battery Just three days Back So I don't think that Battery might have any issue.

I haven't any battery issues on KitKat roms. Do you have original charging adapter?

I know this problem only with 3rd party batteries, with original battery everything is fine...
2 new original batteries, both fully charging...
Gesendet von meinem Sensation XL mit Tapatalk 2

I don't think so..
mine also works best with Runny-KitKat. (jst speedy discharging than sense rom RUU)
everything is fine.

Thank You all for your replies .. so I guess its the battery issue and the battery I bought is not the Original one.
Can anyone suggest me is there any way that I can identify the original Battery. Because all looks the same

Should be a original part, no replacement...
I just searched for original HTC akku @*bay...

Flickering Problem Below 50% (ICS,JB)

I have contatced some Developers too but just wanted more opinions..
Here`s the problem.
Once my phone hits 50% and if i try using it after that,The screen starts to flicker..
Strange waves start appearing on the screen {Top to Bottom}
If i continue using... the waves increases and after few seconds the phone Switches Off
After around 10Minutes If i try to switch it back on...It switches on with 1% Battery...
If i put to charge it satrts from 1% if i restart once while charging it starts from 50%
So what is happening here and what is wrong with my phone..
I went back to Rooted KL3 Ginger Bread (I did not have this problem in Ginger Bread)
I flashed a safe ICS (Alliance)
It started again...
Flashed Alliance JB and it still remains,I have tried Rocket,Chrack,Crash and all Roms out there..
I did some research and got to know that sammy`s ics update had this problem,
I am open for all kinds of suggestions here :fingers-crossed::crying::angel:

I have this problem too, I think it's the battery dying, cos I've noticed that it got swollen up a bit too, so I already ordered a replacement battery.

Battery Fault
This is a battery fault.
I had this and it went away when I changed my battery.
The only solution is to change the battery.
i had exactly the same problem!
your battery is dead. you should replace it immediately
i bought two of those:
http://www.amazon.com/2700mAh-Batte...F8&qid=1352243234&sr=8-3&keywords=n7000+anker
since i replaced the the battery everything works fine.
and those anker batterys are awesome
Thanks guys and YES, I checked the battery and the shape seems to be odd...
I guess it's time to change the battery...
Thanks a lot for the responses guys..
Had the same issue 2 weeks ago. Took the battery out and tried to spin it on a flat surface. It spinned with ease and had bulged. Bought a new one from Samsung and now have no issues and battery life is great

this is an ongoing issue. seems like the battery is dead after a year with signs of bloating. this never happened to my HD2 or Xperia X10. whats going on?
Its not uncommon for batteries to drastically lose their effectiveness after a year or so -- which is why I hate phones that don't have user-replaceble batteries.

This is a known issue, and it is because of the battery driver from within the kernel, i tried to work on it but suspended my work for now.
Probably i will work on this on a later date.
then what's the solution for our problem,
i read somewhere that 1950mAh batteries are compatible for Sensation XL, does anybody tried already???

I have same problem. I had the original battery which was about 14 months old. Suddenly it started draining really fast, like 70% within
an hour or half. When it reached around 30% phone closed. When I turned it on, it said there was 4-6%.
Last week I purchased new Insmat 1700mAh battery and charget it phone turned off about 10 hours.
It only got to 84%. Now I´ve drained it and charged it couple of times and it reaches that 89% but no more than that.

For all that wants a new battery for their phone :
If you buy another one you will have to check if the voltage on the new battery is the same as on the stock battery. For now until someone makes another kernel for bigger battery, if you buy another battery with more miliamps on you will not get it to charge over 89% because bigger battery is running 0.1 volts higher than stock. The phone runs just fine with it but it can't fully charge it unless another kernel is made for it or unless you use an external charger, with that I mean , pulling battery out and charge it with another charger. And insert it again while fully charged

Thanks for that info anders3408! Battery still works great and lasts long.
External Charger, i don't understand what you're saying, can you say once again clearly, to get an external charger what i have to do?

I think he meant desktop/external charger. By using them, you can charge battery full. Not when its in the phone. Maybe its related to kernels, I dunno.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda app-developers app
how much battery is charged is controled by the kernel, so in theory , if someone editted kernel then we can charge battery to full.
If you will use a bigger battery you need to use external charger to charge it full, and yes by external charger i mean a charger you can put the battery in, so it is pulled out of the phone

Im really bad with this sort of things cos i can only say what is working and what not. And maybe why...
But to you who know better. If its because of kernel, would it be hard thing to repair since there is custom kernels out there?

How old is it? Mine was about 1year and 1-2months old when it stopped charging to full and phone turned off when battery was around 30%.

[Q] Battery dying?

Since a few days ago, battery charging on my P990 takes ages and it doesn't even charge up to 100 percent. I always leave my phone plugged over night but since this has started to happen, the battery only charges up to 80 percent maximum.
At first I thought it was kernel-related (Pengus' latest experimental version that's not supported for ICS), but after flashing a proper one (CivZ SithLord) and even reflashing the ROM (civato's Flex-Icer 4.5) with a full wipe nothing changed.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Does this mean that my battery is about to drop dead or it might be somehow software related?

Thanky you for your reply. In the meantime, I've managed to resolve the problem. It was my charger's cable that caused all of this. Its plug is damaged so I simply replaced it with a new one, but before finding that out I had already bought a replacement battery and a wall charger. Nevermind, these spare parts will be useful.

Problem with my xperia.

Hi there. For some time now struggling to restore my xperia to life. It shows that the battery is fully charged, but after a few minutes of use switched off. I enclose two films, the first without the charger, the other connected charger. I tried to flash kernels, roms, go back to the stock rom. I am currently on CM10.2 stable. In each ROM symptoms are the same.

See if this relates to your issue... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526618...
I've read a similar post in the ZL forum as well... apparently there's some quirk where the Z and ZL batteries can end up in a state where the phone won't stay running... it's possible it's a battery failure... which should be covered under warranty... check the other thread.
I have read about it, the symptoms are the same. Voltage is correct, the battery health: good, then, is just to replace the battery.
Thanks, I'll write here what was the problem.

M7 turns off at ~45%?

Hello,
I have a problem with my battery stats...
I'm using ArtMod V10 ROM and it shows ~45% -> Then it suddenly turns off and you need a charger.
The battery now shows 1%.
Is there any fix for that or just a bad battery?
No ideas?
What is your Battery age?
If it's older than 3 yr. you can expect this.
