I have tried to install by the instructions some "cm-10.1-20130503-NIGHTLY-cooper" and when phone started to boot up he stayed 5 minutes on SAMSUNG screen, I went under shower, finished, went to party, he still havent booted. I rebooted phone by taking out battery, the same...Phone can't accept that update.
After that i tried hard reset and again...same thing.
Than i tried hard reset without installing "cm-10.1-20130503-NIGHTLY-cooper" and same...
Then i downloaded numerous of programs including Samsung Kies, connected my device on "download mode" and I saw installed drivers but it keeps searching for connection...lost like 5 god damn hours on this...couldnt find solution.
Forgot to say i rooted phone first. Before I tried to do this I had some swiss ROM i guess...Now cant find flash files for it. Dowloading just now when I m writing this some Polish firmware flash so i could flash phone over Odin...I hope I will do something.
Can anyone tell me how to start this phone? Even in oldest android version, just so it can boot again?
RESOLVED this problem.
First I saw needed 10 minutes to figure out that I am using old version of Odin.
Downloaded Odin + cooper file that is needed for ignition from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506891
Then I used mine allready downloaded firmware that i found here http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...laxy-ace-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82
with this tutorial here (part C in post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Phone booted successfully with 2.3.6 android on Polish Play
Now I must start again with another ROM, any suggestions?

Hi guys,
I think I possibly screwed up my wounderful sgs i9000 european edition
First of all I have to tell you how I came to this...
A long long time ago, today afternoon 17 o'clock european time I wanted to test the great CM7 and so I did, of course first I failed to flash it but then it worked. The phone worked fine but there came the point when I wanted to use samsung's firmware again, cause it has the apps I love.
So I just connected my phone with Odin and tried to flash a original Firmware, I think it was JS7. It worked, but then my phone didnt boot after the flash.
So I managed to make the phone boot into download mode, what is the only thing that works at the moment.
So I connected it again and tried to flash my phone one more time but then it didnt work
Odin stuck at the line "set pit-file" or somethin like that.
Well. What could I do? Reconnect and try to reflash and it doesnt work again
Do you know, guys, what I could do? I need my phone every day but atm it cant be flashed
Now I tried to reflash it again and I stuck at the line "SetupConnection.."
Maybe I should try to flash another kernel and try to flash a custom rom trough CWM? Maybe that would be the key for me?
My phone stuck at "SetupConnection.." since 10 minutes or so
PLS help me
best regards,
alex
is recovery mode working ?? if so do a full factory reset.
Get your self a firmware with all 3 files and PIT. something old like JM8 or even back to eclair.. This should contain the dbdata which ive had trouble with in the past.
When you have all that, connect your phone to odin and try again, Make sure kies IS NOT running (even in the icon tray) and make sure your drivers are upto date.
If download mode works, your phone will survive. As for Odin sticking on 'Setup Connection' That's something to do with the phone connecting to the PC.. Maybe try another USB port, or like mentioned previously, Kies running or out of date drivers ????
Anyway try the above steps. and post back your results.
Oh dont forget to make sure RE-PARTITION is CHECKED when your using Odin.
well, thank you very much for the useful information
at first I tried to flash my phone at my laptop, then on a pc, but it just didnt work
but now I 'm succefully flashing it again trough my laptop and hopefully it will work again
And yeah, DL Mode works fine, but nothing other
Well, seems to be that my phone just was flashed succefully
Damn, I was so scared that I have to return the phone to the reseller
Wonderful, it boots again
I wont take it easy as before with the flashing.
Sorry for the trouble created by me
And thanks again
gn8 (from my time zone) and best regards
alex

This WAS the situation before the problems:
Rooted Gingerbread rom, all working fine. Decided to unroot and install the full version of the official German ICS rom by using PC Odin. All went fine and used my Note for over two days. Because of the lags en slow responses I decided to reflash the ICS rom. From that moment on I messed it up. I've been reading and searching hundreds of posts for almost a day but didn't find a solution.
This IS the current situation:
I can get into download mode
I can get in recovery mode
However, in recovery mode I can not install a rom, every flash (CWM, both ICS and GB - even using chainfire's rom needed for rooting) stops on a random moment...but never gets it to the end, even if I wait several hours. Installing is very...very....very slow.
In recovery mode i can not restore a Nandroid backup, both ICS and GB. Every backup stops when /system has te be installed. errormessage.
In download mode I can connect my Note to PC Odin. I can select a rom and start flashing. However, after appr. 80% installation halts during "nand write start", no error message. The flashing does not finish, even after hours.
Funny is, i can install a kernel like Abyss.
So, I can't restore, i can't flash using cwm in recovery and I can't flash using PC Odin. My device seems not fully bricked. The max I get when rebooting (knowing that the process has not finished) is the triangle screen.
Any advise is appreciated.
Do not flash thru CWM... Flash a good GB kernel like "franco.Kernel" but thru PC Odin then u can flash whatever u want from franco's CWM... Good luck
Don't need help anymore
Note is officially bricked. After several attempts to recover from a softbrick the screen of my Note didn't turn on anymore. No button or button combination works, no recovery and no download mode, just a black screen.

Flat battery? It's also possible that it's just the screen that's not working. Try entering download mode "blind". So hold power+home+vol down for ~10 seconds, then press vol up. Hook it up via usb and see if Odin can recognize it.
Thanks, didn't think of that. But unfortunately no response from the device.
So now that it looks like your phone is officially bricked, I think you should just take it to Samsung and make up a story. Like you were updating your software with Kies and something happened and the phone is just not booting up.
I am sorry you bricked your note though..
try AMORA Filemanager.. flash via recovery and you have a file manager,,, take a look on your partitions
just my idea, you got nothing to lose

I would like to but it's very hard when you can't see anything on the screen...
Maybe it's just the battery, try to charge it externally and try a JIG also
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
Just a quick, final, update.
My Note was superbricked. Had to send it to a Samsung Service Center. No additional questions were asked. Samsung replaced the mainboard. Didn't have to pay anything.
Great service!!!
try this out buddy, do it on your own risk!!! anyways you have messed it up.

i was not a member when i commited this mistake. but then big thanks to this community it helped me back from softbrick.
first you do is install a stock kernel of ics on your note go into recovery and just clear cache partition, thats it no wipe/data factory reset.
then,
install the pit file from this thread, also read it completely before proceeding. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1667886 , hoping yours is 16gb version and also read this thread for additional info but its quite complicated for me so im just telling you the direct method and hopefully itll get your note back to work. so once you download the 16gb pit file unzip it and in the unzip folder you will find a separately lying pit of 16gb stating patched-standard thats the one you want.
then,
goto samfirmware and download the latest ics firmware(i downloaded the indian one as it is in file .tar),
unzip it till you get .tar file.
open odin- click pit-select 16gb patched standard pit- check wether repartion is ticked- click pda-select the .tar file you extracted connect your phone and start. this time i wont stop at factory.fs.....
NOTE THAT AFTER THIS PROCEDURE IS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE WOULD BE ONLY 8GB INSTEAD OF 11 GB STOCK WHICH YOU WERE GETTING.
I REVIVED MY NOTE THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE. PROCEES AT YOUR OWN RISK.
one your phone is working you'll be able to reset the counter with a jig and get your phone under warranty and get your motherboard changed by teliing at the Samsung Service that you are getting only 8gb instead of 11gb you used to get earlier(warranty only if you had any).
hope this helps mate.
BEST OF LUCK!!
A BIG HUGE THANKS TO hg42.....
I suspect I will get some jip for this - but I have hurt my Ace from trying to install an IOS5 ROM. I will detail process and attempted fixes below. Please be assured I have spent 3 hours crawling Google before darkening your doorstep with my problems...:crying:
Advice would be hugely appreciated as it's my wife's phone and, well, I'm in trouble,....
1. Installed ROM for IOS5 Black - SGA, via Recovery mode, wipe and install from SD ([ade.htp.ac.id/?p=524[/url]) (also rooted - assuming it worked)
2. Rebooted, the device showed the Samsung logo, an X-Ray hand (I guess it's the programmers logo) and then hung on ANDROID. I left for 25 mins, tried rebooting a few times, tried re-wiping and reinstalling - nothing worked.
3. Read up a bit, downloaded Odin and cooper_v1.0.ops and latest samsung firmware from sammobile
4. Launched Odin, entered Download mode, connected successfully, loaded cooper and firmware as 1 package
5. Checks are okay
6. Start - and it hangs on MIBIB, no progress at all for 30 mins
7. Already tried - redownloading ROM and a new cooper file - no luck. Tried running without Protect Ops - no luck, tried different USB port - no luck
8. The device now does not boot at all and opens straight to an icon of a mobile connecting to a PC. I can enter download mode, and can reconnect to Odin - but the same problem occurs.
9. I did make a backup of my original SD if that's any use, and I have an SD reader/writer to access SD if that is any good to me.
So - gentlemen, how pooped am I?
Ideally I'd liked to boot back to a standard firmware, factory default or equivalent (and then try again with some adhoc ROMS)
System: Windows 8
Phone: S5830
Odin versions: I've tried 4.38 and a couple of older versions.
The only thing I haven't tried is installing XP to run it from there - doubt there's any merit in it but it came up in one article I read.
Help would be warmly received. I'm hoping you all role your eyes and abuse me for not finding the obvious answer elsewhere....
You are completely messed up.. No idea what's with your phone, try flashing a full package file with Odin on Windows 7 instead of Win8..
Rename cooper_v1.0.ops to cooper.ops and try.
BTW googling

Go here& try for one final luck.
www.themythace.com/flash-stock-rom.html. Be sure to install the mobile device driver before & keep kies shut while flashing. I've tried it & has worked perfectly fine with me & by the way, even my phone was stuck on the screen that showed phone connected to pc on boot So, if followed correctly, nothing should go wrong.

Where there is Odin multi downloader (Android) written,it should start showing Odin multi downloader (GT-S5830) after choosing cooper.ops.
So try getting S5830XEKPH or S5830XXKPH from sammobile or angeeks
HI XDA
I got this sgh-t599 tmobile phone yesterday. (didn't realize it was rooted) messed around/did factory reset without backup.
now im stuck in CWM recovery 6.0.3.6, Ive spent several hours readind and trying to fix this with no luck.
I tried using adb, kies etc. none can detect device. device drivers are installed(tried 'have disk'), it shows Samsung under device manager.
I can device list in adb and shows the numbers and "recovery" but when i try to use commands it says "waiting for device" or something.
from what i read, i need unsecure boot to restore firmware. where can i get this and how do i do it pls.
i have no mount usb option in cwm, when i try to recover/update from cwm it says aborted. in adb im able to reboot the phone with the commands but always reboots to cwm recovery or waiting for device. any help pls. i may have access to another rooted t599 if i am able to backup and recover it to this phone?:crying:
do you think local phone repair shop can fix this back to stock or rooted and for how much?

You must have format system or something. A factory reset wipes cache and data, nothing else. There should be a homebrew odin-file somewhere in these t599 threads.

phone was rooted and had superuser etc on it. I didn't know about rooting, I did factory reset from the main menu which im pretty sure is what caused this. before that I was able to look through its apps where I saw the superuser, terninal and others, once factory reset it rebooted to cwm recovery and stuck there. there was no backup or side sdcard. only realized it was rooted after saw the cwm and stuck
odin doesnt detect phone either, downloaded/installed universal drivers still no go.
main issue is not being to able enable usb debug/download while still in cwm
repair shop says $30, about to run there
i caused my friends sgh-t599 to do that

Hi so I was trying to use CF to root my phone and ended up screwing it somehow and bricked. I thought I'd followed the instructions well enough but I obviously did something wrong. Now my phone is stuck saying it needs to recover with Kies. This is my first Samsung phone but I'm not new to Android.
I tried installing the stock firmware through ODIN but everytime I flash it gets to installing the system ext4 and fails. I also wasn't able to recover using Kies(not even sure how you use it tbh).
If anyone could help me it would be mucho appreciated. I'm pretty pissed at myself right now.

Your phone is NOT bricked. If it was the screen would not even go on.
Have you tried going into recovery mode (VolumeUP/VolDown/PowerButton)
and once in Recovery Mode do a factory reset or Data Reset forgot what the
exact wording is in the stock recovery.
If you flashed twrp recovery it's ok too, just select "factory reset".
After doing that the phone should no longer display anything about Kies.
If you get to the twrp recovery screen you should be able to flash a stock
rooted rom without any issues.
If all you get is the stock recovery screen then you should be able to odin
flash the official Samsung Note 4 kitkat 4.4.4 NJ7 firmware which you may
need to download the firmware from http://SamMobile.com if you don't
already have it. (be sure you have the correct firmware for the Note 4 N910T).
Be 100% sure that the phone is FULLY POWERED DOWN before going
into Download Mode to avoid odin errors and issues.
Good luck!
Thanks man. I had tried Odin at my office and nothing doing.
Got home took my time and was real calm about things and voila. May have been an md5 issue with the firmware file. Just relieved I didn't have to RMA it.

Can you check for the file with md5 before you flash from your phone? I forgot where to dig for this info.
All I I have done before is on my cook rom file, I just open it with WinRAR and test for error. If no error, then its good.
On my Home PC I have a program that will put a check mark next to a file if it matches the md5. I also have Winrar at home.
I was just using the default Windows zip program and I have had problems with that and installers/roms in the past.
The only other things I did different were I removed the SD card and installed the drivers before plugging my phone in instead of letting Windows download them automatically.
I also removed the battery after I left work so it was out of the phone for a couple of hours.
The final thing I did was calm down lol after the initial shock of seeing a softbricked screen on my brand new phone.
I'm all rooted now with TWRP and running Hyperdrive so it's all smooth sailing from this point forward.
You should check md5 on phone once you done transferred to phone from PC
