[Q] Radios not working - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Hello all.
I recently flashed the Stock Optimized ROM. Now, none of my radios turn on. Also, no sound at all. Whenever I go to try and change a notification sound or ringtone, it says "Unable to play this file". And SuperSU gives me a message about missing binaries. No idea what do to.

Link to the ROM you flashed?

Looks like there were some issues with that ROM. Either flash the ROM from the link below or run the RUU I PM'd you about. If you flash this ROM make sure you install the Sprint version.

[Q] Cyanogen 6.0 problem? plz help.

Hi everyone. I just recently flashed the new 6.0 froyo cyanogen and its amazing. At first, when I flashed it I had 2 problems.
1. No Market app
2. I didn't get a setup screen for my gmail.
That problem I fixed by downloading and flashing the google apps zip thing.
Now, there's a new problem.
1. Market continues to say "connection failed, retry or cancel" for everthing I try to download. I press on and download.
2. I basically cannot download anything at all.
3. Youtube as well isn't working... I get the same thing as the market.
I did see a google chrome apk in a cyanogenmod website, it said it would help? I don't remember with what though.
Do I need SDK in order to use apps?
- Thanks.
Did you flash the correct google apps? It schould be named gapps-mdpi-FRF91-3-signed.zip.
Did you wipe before flashing?
What version of CM6 did you flash? If it was a nightly, try another one ore RC2.

Yes, thats the name of the Google apps i flashed. The name of the cyanogen rom i flashed is -
update-cm-6.0.0-DS-RC2-signed
I tried flashing everything once more on my rooted G1.
This time i flashed DangerSPL. It was probably the reason it didnt work. I will post back if it works.

[Q] What is a Radio?

-Cheers and thanks

forgot to mention that part, if there is a new Radio out for your phone usually a Dev, will pull it out of a OTA update , and make a update.zip already, and all you have to do is into recovery and flash it over... and some stock roms will push out a radio-ota(rare i belieive) but thats it.. so for froyo radio Cyanogen has a updatezip for froyo radio, you can grab it place it in sdcard then boot into recovery and flash! wa-la got new radio, i also believe you can flash via Fastboot too
Thanks man, i currently have CM6 installed and some other Roms in the Dev section, that i was looking at testing, say you gotta install a radio, so thanks for the help.

I don think you can install an OTA from a custom recovery. You need the stock recovery

Yes you are right i think, but one thing u dont understand , this rom is the stock rom which i restore after a little test with the Google Edition rom , why in my original rom shows something that i can not update? How is that possible?Because i bought it 2nd hand , is possible the last owner could flash another rom , not exactly original stock rom ?

The OTA update needs 3 things in order to be successful
1) Stock ROM
2) Stock Recovery
3) APPS that are lost during unlocking the bootloader
you currently have the stock ROM, so you should also flash the stock recovery and the missing apps.
I have included both links for you. First, unzip the apps file and copy the APK's to your phone and install all of them, then go into fasboot and flash the stock recovery and then you can do the OTA update. And if you dont know how to flash the recovery you can find it somewhere around here on the forums!
Here is the link for the missing apps https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzXWB5B2uUs7R2hjQnN3NFFNNVk/edit

I need the phone to be rooted for one application called Root Call Blocker , i think is the only app that works properly with sense 5 (not notification or sound or even light screen ,when there is incoming call-please tell me if i am mistaken-) so i need to stay rooted, with the above actions will i be rooted afterwards?

Yes if you are currently rooted, you will still be rooted afterwards and after the update finishes you can reflash TWRP or CWM and everything will be back to where you are now!
I actually didn't try any call blocking apps, maybe ill try this one!

Rom Install Issues

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but have been rooting androids for years now. I have an issue now that I have never seen before. I have my HTC One rooted, S-OFF, firmware updated, everything as it should be. Heres the problem. Whenever I try to install a rom, (Insert coin, Renovate, etc.) the install goes totally fine. However, whenever I go to reboot into the system, it just hangs at the first splashscreen. The one with the green HTC logo and the powered by android at the bottom. It has sat for 5 minutes before I decided to turn it off. Anyone know a fix to this? thanks,
Parker.
PS. All of these are Aroma install roms, if that matters.
Have you tried flashing a regular Ron without AROMA, like the stock Rooted rom?
Based on the touchscreen issues with AROMA and thus phone, are you certain that you are flashing the correct carrier?

I've run into this on the 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 ROMs on my S-On HK edition. When the screen does go out after several minutes, I hit the power button and the phone works normally. I'm guessing that it has to do with old firmware being used with the 4.4.3+ ROM bases. I'm going to do Sunshine S-Off today so I can update my firmware and see if that makes a difference.
I have not tried a non aroma rom, that might just be my next step. I know for a fact it is the correct carrier rom, all the ones I have flashed are universal
I will try to do the power button thing you mentioned, thanks for the tip.
After work I will try all of these!

Just got S-Off and upgraded the firmware to the latest. The problem has been solved for me. Boots right up now.
Which firmware did you upgrade to? I tried to upgrade to 2.22xxx and it didn't fix anything for me.

Issues with OTA Update

Hi,
I am sorry if this has already been addressed, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyway I am trying to get the OTA update and my main goal is to do it without losing all my data (yes I have a backup, yes I'd rather stay as far away from wiping my device as possible). My device is on the stock sense ROM, I have S-OFF and I am rooted with TWRP recovery. I've been following this guide, ( http://www.theandroidsoul.com/t-mob...mware-and-recovery-version-1-32-531-33-82340/ ) and I've gotten to the part where I need to flash the system file, this is where I get stuck I continuously get an error that reads "target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi". If anyone has any idea how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You must be new to S-OFF. Well let me tell you... you're S-OFF!!! you don't need to do all that. What you're really looking for is to update your firmware without wiping. Follows instruction here in the OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/firmware-t3068243
It's pretty direct. Download the NOWIPE zip and fastboot flash it. Done. Firmware will be updated. You then can just download an updated stock rom and install that with TWRP.

Yes, I am new to S-OFF, I've had an S4 for the last two years and never needed it, I understand the basic idea behind it but I didn't fully understand what I could so with it. Looks like you're trying to flash an OTA. What I meant was to flash a stock ROM... but I looked in our dev section and noticed nobody has created one lol.
I'm a bit rusty on flashing stock stuff, but you should really ask the guys in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...lease-read-rooting-using-twrp-t3069022/page34
My guess is that you just want to update your system too. I think i saw someone dumped the system and boot img and you can flash those, but I don't recall the exact method.
Basically S-OFF allows you to access different.. uuhh "partitions" (sorry bad terminology) because it bypasses any security checks. Partitions such as your firmware and radio. That's pretty much what S-OFF does. It allows you to flash any of the firmware and radios across all the different versions.
I would suggest to take a dip into custom roms and choose T-mobile as the carrier lol. I personally like Leedroid's rom, he keeps it pretty stock and is an awesome responsive dev.

Alright, Ill look into that thread. I've read about S-OFF in the past and I'm very familiar with rooting and ROMs from my last few phones but OTAs were never something I worried about (since I always used a custom ROM). In all honesty I like sense 7, and I need WiFi calling for work (I spend a lot of time in places without service, like data centers), so I think I am going to try to stick with stock. Anyway, thanks for all your help!

Yeah I can tell by how long you've been a member here. But the thing with HTC ONE is that a lot of the custom roms are based off stock and they even compile it so that the aroma installer allows you to choose your carrier so that it will install it based off of your carrier's stock base. I work in a similar environment and also need wifi calling and these custom roms have that feature.
LeeDroid, insertcoin, viperrom (off the top of my head) should have working wifi calling.
Basically you install their rom and they ask you which carrier you want to install it for... choose T-mobile. And you should be set. Now I know that the new fw was just released for T-mobile, so I'm not sure if insertcoin and Viper have updated theirs yet, but i know for sure that LeeDroid has updated his. Give it a shot and come back to the custom flashing world lol
OOPS looks like LeeDroid hasn't pushed the T-mobile update yet he's planning to, so probably tomorrow.

Oh no that option is always there. We should be expecting a r16 soon. With the new base for T-Mobile. You can always install that rc2 now an update to r16 when he releases it tomorrow. Unless you're working tomorrow.
