Hi,
Just wanted to ask any users with an HTC One from HK if the 4.3 update has already been released. I bought my phone from there but I use it mainly in the Philippines. Checked today and there's still no update.
Also, if I restore my phone to the stock ROM from a nandroid backup then flash stock recovery, will I still be eligible for the OTA? I'd restore using an RUU but I can't seem to find one for Hong Kong phones. Thanks.
For OTA you need the stock rom and recovery.
Also the bootloader will be locked-relocked
Pretty sure it would be posted on this forum if the update had come out. We usually get it after Europe, so I doubt it. I'm on a custom ROM, so can't help.
Yeah, restoring from nandroid + stock recovery should let you get updates (when they arrive).
Alright thanks man. Are there any additional benefits to upgrading the whole firmware vs just the radio? I'm stuck with S-on.

I live in Hong Kong and my HTC ONE is HK version.
I can confirm you that 4.3 for HK HTC ONE itsn't there yet and no ETA were announced.
However, base on my previous HTC(HK) experiences and speculation.
If US/Taiwan and the rest of the world released the update on Oct, 2013.
HTC(HK) will release the update somewhere between March, 2014 and Oct, 2020.
Yes this is how good and efficient of HTC(HK), Yay baby!
Thanks for the heads - up. Guess I'll make sure my next phone is S-off before anything else

Seriously, using HK HTC handsets is almost like using a carrier branded handset. Usually close to being the last of the unbranded cid's to receive updates.

They will not release 4.4.4 for sense versions. Jumping directly to 5.0

Just a suggestion, if you want to discuss and receive some answers about ota updates ETAs/availability, you should post in "update" sticky thread in the general section. But in general you can assume that if you are not receiving any notification about ota update its because its not released yet, even if its already out for other countries.

So I keep seeing these articles about the carrier versions getting the 4.4.4 update and I check and see my Dev Edition phone has 4.4.3. Naturally, I check for updates, but it says my software is up to date?
Does the Dev Edition not require 4.4.4?
Its most recent version for it is 4.4.3, but the newest image Moto will GIVE you to restore to is 4.4.2.... stupid as trying to do that will brick your phone.

If you are referring to the GSM dev edition, then NO. Not yet. It might not get it at all and go straight to Android L instead...we don't know.
You see, you are on 4.4.3 -- which is *exactly* the same as 4.4.4 except for the ssl bug and a few other minor code changes. You were one of the first to get 4.4.3.
The other carriers HALTED their 4.4.3 roll-out once the SSL bug was discovered. Instead, they fixed the bug and called it "4.4.4".
There is really nothing important that you don't already have in 4.4.3 that 4.4.4 can offer, so no reason to be in a rush. The likelyhood of you leaking any data due to the ssl bug is astronomically small since you are using a smart phone.
Hope that helps explain things...

Hi Bruce, there is already a sticky thread to discuss about ota updates there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305490
Normally GPE devices receive the updates a few days/week after nexus devices received it.
Use the thread linked above if you have any other question or comments about updates.

That is an HTC bug in their Lollipop GPE update.
They have stated they will fix it in their 5.1 update that is due later this month, or early April.
I have it fixed/working in my Google Plus Edition/GPE custom rom.
But any fully stock GPE rom will have this same HTC bug.
