Hey all
I am trying to return my phone to stock but i want to be sure about the procedure. I have read the guides.
1. Flash stock recovery
2. Flash stock rom
3. Root stock rom
4. Use triangle away
5. Unroot
Is this the right procedure? Can it be returned to the factory with zero counts and official?
I've got a danish/Denmark phone so I should use this firmware: I8190NXXANF2_I8190NOXXANF1_NEE right?
Any help is apreciated.:good:

You need to download these files first:
Odin v3.07 for Windows:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738841
Samsung USB drivers:http://www.android.gs/download-samsung-usb-drivers-for-android/
Stock Firmware of your country (Nordic countries) from SamMobile (.tar.md5):http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=30873
And then perform this steps:
1) Install the USB drivers.
2) Run Odin v3.07.
3) In opened window, click on PDA button and select Stock Firmware with .tar.md5 extension.
4) Make sure that only Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are selected on the left side.
5) Turn off your phone, and then use VOL- & HOME & POWER buttons combination.
6) If you see Warning screen, use VOL+ button.
7) Connect phone to computer and make sure it is detected by Odin (it will appear as COM device). If it doesn’t, try to use other USB port.
8) Use Start button. Wait until flash process will finish.
9) Your phone will restart.
10) Wait for boot.
Now you should have Stock Firmware without Root installed and ready to use!
For zero counts use Triangle Away first and then do the procedure above or do the procedure, Root, use Triangle Away and Unroot.
And one last thing: I am not responsible for any trouble that may occur by this procedure. Everything you do to your phone is by your own risk..:fingers-crossed:

Okay, I have to shameless ask some expert advice. Color me foolish.
I'm all new in this smartphone galaxy and Note Club. In short, I know how to press a few buttons. I just want to make sure I'm not going to press a button that wipes everything off the device.
I've had my SGN for nearly a week, and it came pre-installed w/ rooted CWM + XXKL7 on it, whatever that means. I got it from a great guy off ebay really! It was lightly used however the original owner had buyers remorse and went back to his S2.
I mindlessly played w/ my Note for a few days installing what knows what off android market, and now, I prefer to reset and wipe all I've installed back to when I first had my hands on it. 1. How do I do that?
2. After resetting my Note, should I backup my start point (which I didn't do in the first place)?
3. Having read a few pages, where do I go from there? Upgrade to LA1?
Baby steps please. I'm very overwhelmed by now been in this forum for hours catching up w/ progress. PLEASE HELP!!
You are in the best possible situation to Upgrade to LA1 and lose the root. Do the following
1.Boot in recovery Vol UP + Power + Home.
2.Select Factory Reset.
3.Download Mobile Odin Pro and LA1.
4.Unrar LA1 and go down to the level where it has a bunch of Tar files.
5.Copy everything in that folder and put it in ur Note.
6.Open Mobile Odin Pro and open the CODE file in the bunch of Tar files.
7.Uncheck ever-root, CWM and SU and click flash.
8.You will have an unrooted LA1 phone.
Cheers!

The latest firmware XXLA3 is out. It is also full wipe which will reset you to a stock phone as though you just bought it. The steps above are still valid.

On second thought, i looked at the above post and notice BABY STEPS. okay so here you go.
Turn off your phone and put it into download mode by pressing the three keys: power, home and vol down simultaneously and hold it until the screen comes on.
It will show up as some warning, just press vol up to continue into download mode.
Then connect your phone to your computer with the usb. Make sure all drivers have been installed with kies, else install kies and connect your phone normally to the computer and repeat all the steps again once you're done.
1) download the above file and extract the rar. It will come out as a folder named as N7000XXLA3 or something like that.
2) Go to this link to download Odin v1.85 http://www.multiupload.com/1RTGSE061G and then open it.
3) Connect your phone to it in download mode as mentioned above and a box in yellow saying COM:3 or 4 or 5 or some number, will appear. Don't worry about the number, as long as it appears it's fine.
4) Put this file CODE_N7000XXLA3_CL880036_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 into the PDA box.
5) Put this file MODEM_N7000XXLA3 blah blah blah into PHONE. There's only one such file so don't worry
6) Lastly put GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-OXALA3.tar.md5 into CSC
Don't worry about the rest of the files. DON'T CLICK Re-Partition or anything else, else you'll screw up your phone big time. and don't pull out the usb cable or something halfway. It will restart automatically so don't worry about it.
7) Once ready, click start and the process will proceed.
PM me if you need further help.
I really appreciate the 'baby steps.' Just hitted the THANK button.
One question before I start your procedure, so will I end up with STILL a rooted or unrooted Note?
Stock = unrooted?
Then, do I go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360 ?
wouldnt ODIN to Stock increase the binary counter thus avoiding warranty?
Revert back to stock is fine but wouldnt ODIN to Stock increase the binary counter thus avoiding warranty?
Do we have any CWM method to getting rooted and removing the CWM so that the vol up + Power + Home key would take us straight to download mode instead of CWM and showing us Samsung official hence keeping the binary counter 0??
Borrowing some space in the thread for a question.
About the binary counter. Just what will trigger the counter?
On my device its still on 0/no and i have:
Rooted with zergrush.
Flashed with Odin, Mobile Odin and CWM.
Flashed the device about 50 times i would guess (flash-junkie i know)
Probably tried every custom rom/kernel including the CM9.

As long as you do not flash an insecure kernel using ODIN, you are safe. And even if the counter does walk, there are ways to reset it. Can find on the forum. Basically always flash zip files in CWM recovery and mobile odin and you will be safe.

Flash a downgrade ROM or GB rescue kit from My Android solutions, link below using Odin
Signup at http://samfirmware.com/, type "i9000" in the search field, choose the newest ROM released for you country/carrier, download it, flash it...
if u get the files, click here and download Odin v1.85 !
*Make sure Kies is not opened (Task manager > close anything named "Kies") / Battery is more than 80% / don't disconnect until the process is finished !
Open Odin, place the files like this: PDA (choose Code...) / PHONE (Modem...) / CSC (Phone...) and if there's a .PIT file you will see it (it's something like 512.pit). Then get the phone in Download Mode: Vol. Down + Home + Power, connect to pc and wait until appears in Odin. If nothing appears, you will need the Drivers. If appears, make sure repartition is unticked, and others two are ticked. Press START and don't disconnect until the phone restarts.
Done.
P.S.: That worked for me

Depends on which ROM did you put onto the device. I recall if you're trying to go back from CM9 you're going to have to do the 3 files combo via ODIN.

Yes. I saw most ICS is from CM9. What are the three files needed?
So i found a tutorial to root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939752
2.1. Open up Odin.
2.2. Put your phone in the "Download mode" with the 3-button-combo (Volume Down + Home + Power).
2.3. Connect your phone to your computer (DO NOT CONNECT THE PHONE BEFORE OPENING ODIN OR THIS WILL NOT WORK).
2.4. Odin should recognize your phone and one of the "com" boxes should light up yellow. If this isn't the case, try repeating the previous steps and eventually connect your phone to another USB port.
2.5. Select your firmware in Odin.
2.5.1. --OPTIONAL-- If you want your phone to be like new, you can select "Re-Partition" in Odin, which will make it repartition your Internal SD. In this case you also have to use a .pit file (WARNING -- you will lose all of your installed applications and settings).
2.6. Take a deep breath and click the "Start" button.
2.7. Wait for the firmware to be flashed and for the device to be restarted.
2.8. You now have a stock firmware. If you also selected "Re-Partition" in Odin, all your programs and settings will be gone and your device will be like new.

Can i used CM on Odin to root my phone ?
is this the right file http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommana...ClockworkMod&deviceName=Samsung GalaxyS i9000 ?
No.
which version of firmware are you running?
You can try superoneclick to root your phone. I was on 2.3.3 I9000M and rooted using one click tool. The tool supports many other models. I assume that you must be on froyo or gingerbread since your phone is not rooted. Make sure USB debugging is enabled and all the drivers are installed. Connect your phone and turn on USB, choose auto under Exploit section and click root. Download the tool (Latest Version) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
If rooting process is Successful, superuser will be installed automatically in your phone.

HERE : i think this will help you out , but be patience and use common sense when rooting also I AM JUST HERE TO HELP , so DO NOT BLAME ME IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE , BUT I CAN SAY THAT IF YOU FOLLOW STEPS YOU WON`T HAVE ANY TROUBLE,
DO DOWNLOAD ESSENTIALS BEFORE FOLLOWING STEPS, FIRTS READ ALL THEN MAKE YOU MIND HOW TO DO IT :
1: ORIGINAL FIRMWARE FROM HERE you will need it to extract original kernel after rooting, or if something goes wrong when rooting
2: SAMSUNG USB DRIVER FOR WIN/MAC.
Make sure that you have backup the data, apps and settings from your Samsung device such as SMS, MMS, Call Logs, Contacts, Images, Audios, Videos, Bookmarks, Wi-Fi, APN settings and MMS settings etc as this process is going to wipe every data from your device.
3. Check of security suites such as antivirus and firewall whether they are disabled on your Computer.
4. You need to turn on the Enable USB Debugging on your Samsung Galaxy S i9070. This can be done simply by following the path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’ and ticking the USB Debugging option box.
5. Please put your battery in charge and make sure that it was charged to at least 80%.
Advice: Before going to start the root process you must go to phone settings->click about phone and look for basedband version number. Note down that number in notepad and save it on the desktop.
Steps and Procedure for Rooting Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070:
1. Download working ODIN FROM HERE AND Working root package only I9070 from attachement to PC.
2. Once you have downloaded the file, then you need to extract the zip file in the PC.
3. After extraction is done.
4. Launch the Odin application in the computer.
5. Turn off the device in order to enter into download mode. For that do like this press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and Power On the device simultaneously. After 1 min you will get a download mode with green android robot image.
6. Connect your device to the Computer via USB data cable while Odin is open. Once your device get connected, ID:COM section turns yellow in colour. If it doesn’t than you need to reconnect your device.
7. In Odin tool you need to two select two files into their respective fields.
NOW YOU WIL ALSO BE NEEDING A PIT FILE , i have attached both version 8gb and 16 gb PIT FILE choose from there if 8gb then 8gb and vice-versa
8.Click PIT tab and then select the GT-I9070_EUR_XX_8G/16GB.pit file from the extracted folder.
Once you selected the file left side Re-partition filed will be tick marked automatically. So you need to uncheck it manually. For more idea see the below picture.
b) Click PDA section and then select the rootkernel.tar.md5.
c) You need to uncheck all other option except ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F Reset Time’.
Click on ‘Start’ button and wait for the process to get completed. The Samsung Galaxy S device will reboot automatically.
9. Now you must try to install Superuser and Busybox from Google Play Store . Once you installed both apps then your device will be rooted successfully. check using root checker app.
Time to switch back to stock original kernel basedband firmware version number. Because above we used kernel for rooting the device have some problems like sudden reboots and lags. So that you need to install exact kernel to the device again. BUT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO ALL THAT , JUST INSTALL ANY CUSTOM ROM / CM11 /cm10 etc ,which has tuned own kernel you will not be needing any of this in the follwoing steps.
HERE READ THIS XDA FORUM TO EXTRACT YOUR ORIGINAL FIRMWARE KERNEL
AFTER THAT AGAIN FOLLOW STEPS
1. Run the Odin application again in the PC.
2.Turn off the device and Boot into Download mode. For that press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and Power On the device.
3. Connect the device to PC via USB cable.
4. Click on PDA tab and select the file which you downloaded recently. I selected (YOURKERNEL).tar.md5 .
5. Click on Start and the process will be completed. The device will be reboot automatically.
That’s it your device is rooted perfectly without any problems. In case if you find any issues with above procedure comment here:good:

As you already hardbricked your phone, you should try below process once. Even it worked for me. (It wasn't at&t)
(Do at your own risk)
Make sure that the Samsung USB Drivers are installed on your computer.
Download Samsung USB Drivers for your PC from below link.
http:// android host.org/XIVsA
(Just delete spaces)
1.Now, go to SamMobile’s website from below link.
http:// www .sam mobile.com/firmwares/
(Delete spaces)
2.Create an account.
3.Then you need to use the ‘Search’ box and type in your Galaxy S5 model number.– the model number is listed under Settings > More > About Device > Build Number.– enter the correct build number.
4.Download one of the stock Android firmware files that matches your Galaxy S5 model.
5.Extract the contents of the zip file and save the files on your PC.– there should a .tar.md5 file, don’t extract any further than that.
6.Next, download Odin 3.09 from below link.
http:// android host.org/get/PVAIv
(Delete Space)
7.Extract ODIN zip contents and save the file on your PC.
8.Make sure that the phone is switched off.– remove its battery and then re-insert it after ten seconds.
9.Boot the Galaxy S5 in Download Mode.
(Turn off the device>With the device turned off, press Volume Down, Home and Power Buttons simultaneously>Once you see the warning message, release all buttons>Press Volume Up to enter download mode>Now your device should be in download mode)
10.Launch ODIN executable on your PC.
11.Connect your phone to your PC via USB data cable. – wait for ODIN to recognize your phone, then continue to the next step.
12.Go to ODIN window and click on the AP button.
13.Load the .tar.md5 file extracted in step 5.– that is the stock Android OS file.– don’t change any other default ODIN Settings, just make sure that ‘Re-partitioning’ is disabled.
14.Now you can press the START button for the installation to begin. Wait for ODIN to complete the flashing process of a new and stock Android ROM for your Samsung Galaxy S5.
After the phone boots you should be able to enter your default Gmail account and take control over your phone once again.
Hope that this way you start up your phone.

Thanks for the reply. The phone will not boot at all, even download mode.
Ok. So i'm trying to follow these directions with my s5 and have not had any luck. Im using this post for the unbrick file. I get past the part where it writes to the sd card but when it comes to the fdisk part im confused on which trigger to use cause the -1 does nothing on macosx. If anybody has had any luck trying this could they please help.

What happens if you put it in download mode, then pull the SD card. If you can do that then try the NCE firmware if it'll let you and see what happens. It's worth a try
