I just flashed Cyanogen 4.1.11. I know i'm late to the party since the new version is out, but I've read that it's slower than 4.1.11 so I'm going to wait a bit.
Just a question, after watching the official 1.6 vid from google on youtube, I saw that they have translations. However I can't find that app. I download the voice files by going to
Settings - Speech Synthesis but after that I'm stuck.
also I noticed that
Accessibility options are greyed out. What gives? In the new Cyanogen rom is it different?
thanks for the replies
Just got the app that was demonstrated in the official 1.6 video.
Its called Translate
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-beust-android-translate-jpBE.aspx
However it doesn't work with the Text to speech I downloaded, the way that it should work according to the google video.
anyone know how to fix that?
hello, i tried searching for this problem but didnt find it.
my phone is working fine except for an issue with google navigation.
the phones supposed to give you voice instructions but theres no sound at all even with it maxed out.
is there supposed to be a voice or is my maps screwed up?
i am running...
superd 1.9.3 w/ wg kernal
death spl
that new radio
latest maps available installed
new info
i put fastest on my g1 for fun while waiting for new superd. i had a chance to test out navigation and to my surprise i got talked to by robot voice lady.
will have to wait for superd before saying this was just a minor glitch.
maybe you said something to upset it?
i think on first load, it asks to download a speech app from the market...don't remember the name, perhaps it is the TTS service (text to speech)?
i have both tts and svox installed from google translate.
that program talks to me with the ladies robot voice just fine.
just can't seem to figure it out for maps.

Hi guys this are the problems that i noticed after the update. This thread is specially for XT1058 but they could be in any builds too
why we dont have the full material launcher ?
sometimes my moto voice starts up without/with any command even in pocket.
moto voice's resposiveness is less than KK one. ----> this happens because of custom launch phrase.
and my phone does not go into sleep mode even after passing of time set in settings .
does anyone have this problems ??
David schuster told that there were some bugs in final release and they're planning updates for them.

Not sure what you mean about the launcher. The Moto X has always has a slightly modified launcher. You can download the Google Launcher from the store.
I did have the same issue with the phone not going to sleep. I rebooted and have not had the problem since, though I can't say for sure yet that it won't happen again.
I'll tell you what problems I faced.
- 1st fresh install, complete sbf: after 24 hs of using it without problems, the phone freezed, rebooted and after the bootanimation bum! black screen. It was on because if I held power button I can see the power off banner. After many reboots getting the same results, I decided to factory reset. And just in case, I reflashed Boot and System.
- 2nd fresh install: I'm getting the static noise bug on moto voice, WiFi toggle dissapears sometimes...
I don't want to keep playing this with a joke rom. I wish I stayed on KK.
CM here I go...
I took an OTA and no problem since. Has it ever occurred to you that you cause the problems you described by not following the general practice? Why sbf? Why not OTA?

Well I own a Movistar 1058 so I flashed retail Brazil for 1058 (it works for every 1058 latam).
I also flashed manually (mfastboot). I think it's 'cleaner' than RSD (and by the way I've never used RSD). Besides I have always used mfastboot to flash stock KK after using custom roms and never had a problem. So I discard the method to be the culprit. Aaand, I've seen others reporting same issues too.
Hello,
I've updated to 5.1 recently and made Factory Reset.
Problems:
1) Google GMail app does not support Exchange Account - for some reason Lolipop has separate application for exchange accounts -_- which is worthless because GMail should support it by default, thats very annoying for me, i dont want to use extra apps.
2) Sometimes BACK button doesnt work when i finish scrolling through Facebook app and i am forced to minimize the app and then restore it again.
3) Sometimes, especially after i unplug the phone from the charger, my screen doent want to go to sleep, it just literally sucks my battery life, only thing that helps this bug is a restart
Those are 3 major things that annoy me after update.
Is it only me with the Exchange problem or everybody else got this thing messed up ? I was really hoping to setup exchange on my Gmail app after the update....

I don't have any of those issues. Do you have the latest version of Gmail from the Play Store?

Huh, that's really weird. So if you go to Gmail, open the drawer and tap the small arrow on the righthand side next to your Gmail account and tap Add account, you can't set a new one up?
I will never buy an ATT device again. i dont understand why they dont allow changing network mode manually, they even have blocked *#*#4636#*#* i've already rooted it. does anyone know which root app allows me to change network type.

Many of us can't flash new ROMs because of locked bootloaders.
Google TTS distortion Moto X AT&T 5.1
I updated to 5.1 on XT1058 AT&T variant of Moto X 1st gen on 7/7/15.
When I have Moto read aloud my text messages the audio output is highly distorted. When I listen to podcasts I have no distortion. If I go to settings/language & input/Text-to-speech output/ and press Listen to an example it is distorted.
In the past with KitKat 4.4.4 I was able to uninstall the latest version of Google TTS which resolved the problem. With the 5.1, neither the current version of Google TTS dated 7/8 nor uninstalling the current version work to solve the issue.
Does anyone have this issue?
Has anyone found a solution?
I tired listening to a tts example it was very clear, my tts version is 3.4.6.1819666.arm you can try it with other tts engine. There are some engines available on play store
What drives me nuts is the stutter I get when swiping away my recent apps. But no other issues so far for me.

I am using the same version of TTS as yours. I tried Ivona TTS, but there is no way to force the use of Ivona over Google TTS in every instance. It's a known issue with trying to use other TTS engines as the default engine. You end up with 3 different characters speaking/reading to you.
Thanks for checking your TTS

Thanks for the link, that cleared out some things for me, but I've noticed that app looses it's settings after the reboot, is there a way to fix my option (Default is LTE/GSM, but i want it to be GSM - Auto), theres a lot of other buttons that i hardly understand what do they do
Thanks
So I just flashed the stable CM11 version (after having some troubles with the Nightly Build) and now following problems occure:
Whatsapp can't send or receive any media files e.g. voice messages, pictures etc. Just normal texting does work. Also if I try to take a picture or record a voicemail an errormessage appears like "camera not available"
The only reason why I switched from my old Xperia E to the new phone was, that my GF wanted to play Pokemon Go with me, but the App won't start correctly. It just closes after the login via Google.
I tried some workarounds (because I assumed an error with the sdcard0), so I used chmod /chown to exclude permission problems. The only difference was visible at Pokemon Go: The App now closes a bit later (I don't think it's important, but maybe). It's not too important to get PGo up and running but that Whatsapp-thing really is annoying me. Sorry for my bad english.
Did you flash some of the Google Play Services packages after installing the rom? If not you will have to.

Hi! As I'm sure many of you know, Google Assistant has stopped working properly at some point (probably with EMUI 12 update).
This is a widespread issue from what I've read on multiple forums. Even if I activate the assistant manually instead of "Ok Google", it does not hear anything I say.
The thing is, if I open the Recorder application and start recording and then activate the assistant it works without any issues, which leads me to believe there is some kind of app/service that is blocking the Microphone when Recorder is not active.
I have tried uninstalling every new package the came with EMUI 12 using ADB Fastboot tool, as well as some older bloatware services like the Huawei App Gallery, etc., but it did not fix the issue.
Furthermore one of the Apps showing as having permanent access to the Microphone is MEETime, and even though I tried uninstalling it and it said it was successful, the app is still there.
Does anyone know exactly what causes this issue and how it might be fixed? (outside of flashing a totally new ROM which I don't exactly want to do right now)
TIA!

I was the same issue and finally fixed it.
It's true last Google assistant version don't work in EMUI 12 (P30 PRO).
My solution was to install a previous version of Google assistant. I installed an .APK version that worked fine. And I was satisfied with that solution but one day I pressed the update button in play store and the newest version is working fine in my Huawei.
No idea why it didn't work before ..
I hope this wasy solution can fix your problem
