Yesterday I wanted to load my HD2 so I plugged the charger into the socket and connected the HD2 to the charger. Just like always the HD2 began to load.
About one hour later there was a very burned smell in my room. I unplugged the charger. And this is the result:
Is there only me having this problem ?
I think this is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed to HTC if not done yet by someone, a friendĀ“s apartment got caught on fire because a htc charger, same problem I assume , I guess we need to keep the charger on sight when in use to avoid a disgrace.

I hope my old charger from my touch diamond will not have the same problem sometime
Same problem with the charger of my Xperia X1 (also HTC), smoke came out the charger.
Ouch. I keep mine on a hardwood floor, but this time of year it's always a good idea to keep a eye on power packs and chargers. I've always thought my charger ran remarkably cool, I run a cradle off of my charger and frequently charge the phone and battery at the same time, I think I'll give it a heat-check next time I have them both on charge.

That sucks... Since HD2 has standard mini USB connector. I use either the charger from "late" Xperia X1 or my Samsung Omnia HD. No problem there
Yep my charger is hot
I did not notice before this thread, but yesterday I charged my HD2, and I touch the charger, and it was peaty hot. I do not like this...

I don't understand why they changed the charger cause my old charger from the touch diamond is not even a little bit hot. Maybe it's cheaper for HTC

Maybe they thought that this charger would be better. But in real world everything is not perfect...Unfortunately
Hi,
I heard from some fellows that the charging time of HTC One is very slow, especially from 95% to 100% mark.
They say it's because of the charger that comes with the HTC One is 1A instead of 2A or something like that.
Are you guys also experiencing that issue?
How long does it take to fully charge the HTC One from say 10% or 20%?
Thanks.

According to the anandtech review, takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge the phone from dead to 100% (with the longest period being from 90-100%).
I've tried using my Samsung charger which I believe is 2A but it made no difference.

Thanks for the info.
I guess it's kinda okay since I usually left it charged at night when I go to sleep.
But when it's needed during the day, it maybe quite a hassle.

2A chargers won't make a difference if the device + kernel itself do not support it.
I haven't used the stock HTC charger instead I used my galaxy s3 charger and it took an age to charge then last night it was taking even longer so I checked the phone and it said incompatible charger I got my one X charger and it charged it fine and quicker.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Anandtech used a 5A charger and I saw a test online with stock one, both took around 4 hours meaning extremely slow... good thing it has a great battery life..

It doesn't matter which one that you buy... Sprint added a regulator to the HTC One that limits the amperage to like 600 MA (.6 A) so even if you get a 2A charger, the phone won't charge any faster. There was a thread on this, too late to go find it.
I noticed that I started with a full battery and drove for 8 hours straight that even on a car charger that I was actually using more battery than what the charger was putting out so by the end of the trip was at like 60%. But to be fair, was using GPS with the screen on...

I'm afraid not, it will ruin your phone. How long does it take to charge your m7 full? Mine is about 2.5 hours, not a short time, but it can last for whole day long.
