Hi,
I've had my XT890 just over a year and it was working normally however suddenly I am unable to make or receive phone calls or SMS. Both wi-fi and mobile data are still working normally. When I attempt to make a phone call the screen looks like it's dialing but then the it disconnects after a couple of seconds before any dialing tone. I've tried a factory reset however this did not resolve the issues. Has anyone seen this before or got any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Phil
I`m having this problem for a while... The only way to make calls is to reboot the phone... Any solutions?

Unfortunately for me rebooting does not help - the problem is permanent.

Hi All,
Something weird happened yesterday, my tytn II stopped working normaly.
I cannot make calls anymore and people calling me get my voicemail, although it shows full reception (t-mobile). The only call works, is calling my voicemail. I didnt change anything in the phone prior to this problem.
Also the battery is dropping down very fast. Like 50% in 5 hours without using anything...
I putted my sim in another phone, it works fine, so the problem lies within the phone. I hardresetted the phone but the problem remains...
Anybody had the same problems and/or knows how to fix this???
I have an original HTC tytn II on tmobile network.
THanks!!
Jelle
found comparing problem here, probably same problem:

Any help is welcome, also for the other users with the same problem!
Thanks!
same problem
Hi,
I also have the same problem you write about. It also happened for no apparant reason. I notice that I can make calls to other mobiles that are close to my phone in proximity... odd?!
I've sent an email to HTC ... waiting on a response.
I have started getting the same sort of problem. When I try and make calls - it just won't connect. Sometimes a soft reset works - but not always. People cannot call me and I get messages about missed calls and voicemail messages.
It's starting to make my Orange TyTnII virtually unusable.
Suggestions?
Since today morning i cannot call... but i have been receiving calls..looks like a network problem...can it be the Tytn II....
Anybody faced such problem before,...?
any remedies?.
Thanks
EDIT: Please ignore, totally got the wrong end of the stick!

I had the same problem, could not make calls but was able to receive. Everytime I tried to make a call, the phone would make 3 short beeps and say 'Call Ended'. I got commmgrpro and switched my band to 2d (EDGE only) It fixed it and I can make calls. It is network related. I'll try to go back to 3g in a few weeks.
i had that problem before, did you hard reseted after flashing the rom?
it started working....it was definitely a network problem...
still love my Tytn II..so many features in that tank..
cheers.
Folks
Suddenly, I cannot hear anything from my earpiece on calls, nothing even on Bluetooth. The earpiece works fine since I can hear voicemails fine. I know the call goes through because the call timer is incrementing and people are receiving the calls. If I turn off LTE, the call doesn't go through. Can someone help?
Thx
a little more detail please.. what rom? kernel? when did it start? what have you tried? etc..
Chroma Rom, started all of a sudden this afternoon. Tried multiple reboots but didn't help. What else should I try

Try resetting your APNs to default.
Didn't help

Flash a factory image and see if issue persists. Just don't flash userdata if you're concerned about losing data.

Had the same issue on chroma oddly I reset APN and manually out in all the info and it worked again
Can you tell me exactly what you did? Did you reset APN to default? I've already done that. What next?
Thx
Hello, everyone.
I need help with an issue I'm facing. My phone is not receiving any calls whatsoever and I don't know why. I can make calls without any problems, the issue is that I can't receive them.
I don't know when this started happening since I don't receive many calls, I don't know if it's a result of rooting the phone, because it's rooted, or what else can it be. I don't remember if the phone received calls before or immediately after being rooted.
I've tried flashing different modems but I haven't been successful. Also, I have gone through the settings and disabled everything that could be causing the calls to be blocked. I have also called T-Mobile and they disconnected and reconnected my phone to the network and I have gone to one store to have the sim card replaced and that didn't help either. I have wiped the cache and the Dalvik cache and nothing. The only option left that I know is to factory reset the phone wich I'm trying to avoid because I have a ton of apps and my home screens are already setup and folders created and I don't want to do all this setup again.
Here is the weird part. Under just this specific scenario I can make my phone receive calls.
Make a call to any phone
Hangup a couple of seconds after the other phone starts ringing.
IMMEDIATELY BEFORE the call is terminated (lost) dial from the other phone (the one that was called in step 1). This should be within one second and no more after the call is lost.
If I follow this procedure then the call goes through and my note 4 receives it, but the call shall be made immediately after I hang up, otherwise it doesn't go through.
Does anybody have an idea of what could be happening?
Thanks!!
try this, go to settings all the down to calls and click on call rejection which says auto rejection turn that to off, ive had the Same problem and thats what help me out
Maybe someone can help-
I received and installed the tmobile pie update yesterday and since then I cannot make outgoing phone calls. Incoming calls and text messages in both directions work but no outgoing calls. The dialer flashes for a second and then disappears.
If I boot into safe mode, I can make calls. I would rather not do a factory reset but do not know what else I can do.
If anyone has a good idea, please share it.
Thanks
If it works in safe mode, then it's likely just a software issue. Factory reset is probably your best option.

Have you tried going to Settings> Apps> Phone > Storage and clear data and cache?
