When TWRP was first released for the Live I borked my watch by not following the installation instructions properly.
After much, much messing around trying to reflash, factory reset etc I finally got my watch working using the custom ROM Octamod by octathorp with stock recovery.
I was never able to get a the watch to boot using Adams system.img
I have tried many time since and the only way I'm ever able to get the watch to boot is using Octamod.
So I was just wondering, has anyone successfully flashed it?
Flashed Yes, Still Staring at the boot animation >.>
You guys need to also flash a kernel typically a boot.Img file for the watch to boot the new system.img you flashed.

I use TWRP 2.8.7.1(which was flashed to the phone) and now after flashing this nightly version, the recovery gets stuck on the TWRP screen and flashes every 60 seconds, but never lets me use it.
I've searched through all the forums, but can't find anyone else with this problem. I just want to flash CM12.1 Snapshot, but I can't without the recovery working.
Everytime I flash the same recovery(TWRP2.8.7.1), the bootloader gives me the error "Mismatched partition size". I've tried "Fastboot boot TWRP2.8.7.1.img, but it sits stuck on the loading TWRP screen. I've cleared the cache, but still nothing.
The only recovery that I can get to work is CWM by booting the .img from the bootloader, but that still does nothing because none of the directories will mount, so I cant flash from the recovery.
I'm waiting on motorola to send me the stock files and just reflash stock and start from scratch, but I really want to save my data.
Does anybody have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong before I reset to stock?
Try this one:

If this recovery doesn't work, you may have to reflash the full stock rom

Nope.. didn't work. I had the 5.0 files from motorola that I flashed, and I'll update from there.
I really wish motorola would leave those files open to download instead of having to wait... sucks not having a phone, but I survived.
i have the same issue, any idea how to fix it ?
Hey guys,
I was using Limonchelo mod so far, and thought I'd swap to VIBE 3.5 (downloaded and tried installing it from here needrom, soryr if this is considered advertising, but I'm really not advertising them at all).
Ok, so anyhow, there was a recovery file, which I had to put into TWRP/Backup, and a boot.img file, which I had to flash.
Somehow, I flashed boot.img in Recovery partition as well, and now I can't boot TWRP, nor will the Android itself boot.
So practically, have 4 partitions, out of which, 2 of them (Boot & Recovery) have this boot.img flashed upon, which appearently, doesn't work! While trying to boot my phone, it remains STUCK at the lenovo - powered by android screen.
So, in short:
- Android doesn't boot (infinite loop at lenovo screen)
- Flashed the boot.img which doesn't boot over Recovery, so TWRP won't boot neither (same thing as above happens)
I could follow some guide and perhaps unbrick my phone with it, but I wouldn't like to **** things up further, and rather hear the opinion of a person that has more experience than me.
I would require some assistance with this matter, if anyone has done something similar or stupid like me before , I'd appreciate the help! xD
Thanks in advance!
Can you access fastboot mode?
When yes: Try to install the recovery: fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG
And install Boot: fastboot flash Boot Boot.img
hey,
thanks for your reply, I wasn't able to access anything at all, however, I've fixed it using SP flash tool, dl-d some random firmware and just installed it, luckily it worked, so if anyone does sth as stupid as I did, this'll save ya. there's also a guide on YouTube for it.
Gosh where do I start?
So I installed a custom ROM and everything was working perfectly fine it was a ROM from here but I noticed a connection problem to 4G and Three UK advised me to restore back to stock as it was working then I was pretty sure it wasn't the ROM but I checked anyways or was going to ..
The OnePlus website didn't allow me to download the Oneaplus 3T recovery image so I had to hunt online for it and once I flashed it into recovery I stupidly re-locked the device so nothing could be flashed to it the problem was that the recovery image was for a OnePlus 3 and not a OnePlus 3T recovery image... You can see where I'm at now so literally I thought I was screwed somehow the Qualcomm recovery tool bypassed the OEM lock not sure how but it did and was able to write onto it eben though the device was locked it was able to restore it to a stock lollipop ROM ... I then re unlocked the bootloader...
Im trying to install TWRP but it doesn't fully install it shows up when I force boot in fastboot but once I flash a image it will launch the ROM but TWRP won't launch back up so I keep having to go into fastboot and re flash and fastboot boot command it to get into it any ideas on how to install it properly it just shows a LED light on the notifications light whenever I try and access it, it isn't there unless I reflash and manually boot any idea how to solve it
Try this

That's what I did to solve it been bricked but that won't help me with the recovery flash ..

LOL so your post comes off as you are trying to blame oneplus. Yet everything u explained and have done had everything to do with user error. Rules of xda..... Research. Research research. Once you think u have it research again and makes sure to read it. Did I say research?
Hi all,
I just received my new ZenWatch 3 today. I turned it on, set it up, and unlocked the bootloader.
From there, I flashed the MWG68 stock images so I could update to the latest AW 1.5 version (I had no intention of upgrading to AW 2.0). I also flashed TWRP so I could later edit the build.prop and disable OTA updates.
However, the watch no longer boots. Instead, it boots directly to recovery. I have tried wiping, flashing the stock images, flashing the 2.0 OTA, flashing the custom ROM, but nothing seems to work. I have full TWRP and fastboot access, but I can't get the watch to boot. Should I also attempt to flash the second half of the MWF76 stock images?
I'm at a loss here. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

1: Whenever you unlock the bootloader you have to re-lock
it before flashing any roms.
2: You MUST do a full wipe and factory reset in TWRP before
flashing any roms. (especially for watches)
I flashed the same rom and twrp as you have 3 days ago
and I had no issues with flashing it It's an excellent rom.
Also you do not need to edit the build-prop file to disable
OTA updates and notifications.
Since the rom is pre-rooted it will not allow OTA updates
and will not notify you about any. (just like cell phones)
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, even after locking the bootloader, doing a full wipe, and then flashing the ROM it still boots straight into TWRP after reboot. Should I try flashing the stock images with the stock recovery?
Ah, good news! I got it to boot. Apparently the stock recovery is needed as well. Only flashing the system.img and boot.img without the stock recovery.img causes it to bootloop. Thanks again for taking the time to respond to me.
Rooting this moto x4 is a whole new learning curve. I've noticed that this is the only phone that doesn't let twrp recover stick. I can flash a rom and everything is fine phone works perfectly. But later on if I need to flash something else when I boot back into recovery I'm back at the stock recover. Never had this happen before. So what I do for now is flash the ROM gapps then reflash twrp installer till I find a more permanent solution

Yes, that is what you have to do.
As recovery is no longer a separate partition, it gets replaced when the boot partition gets updated.
I believe this is the way it will be with any device with a/b partition.
