So I'm assuming it only shows the data partition and not the system partition, correct?
So how do I install Xposed on an HTC Evo 4G that barely has any internal space to work with?

Disable USB debugging (menu/settings/developer options)
I spent a couple hours troubleshooting this evening and figured it out. You can re-enable it after you install Xposed.
The script was complaining because it thought /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 (/system) on my Droid X was full.

Hi all,
Yes, the above suggestion worked for me on Nexus 6 Stock and rooted. If your ROM partition (2 GB) has less space available (less than 15 MB), its possible to see "No space left on device" error. I had 14 MB left and was able to install Xposed after removing a bunch of apps from system ROM and freeing some more space (35 MB). Try it ... might work for you!

You need to delete/uninstall or move to user (NOT DISABLE) at least one of the following from the system drive
YouTube
Chrome
Hangouts/GMessage
At least 2 languages for google keyboard

Every app has to be updated by the author. No way around it.
If your rooted you can just switch the toggle to 2 and all the apps can be moved over to sd and new apps install there by defaut. I'm not a real app whore having maybe 50 more or less but still, they are every last one on the sd.
No problem thankyou. Just making sure I was not doing anything wrong with it lol.

Try searching im almost positive that there is a tut on it but, You need to install the Android SDK and create a connection to your device with the sdk.
You can then run the ADB command from terminal(mac OSX) or CMD(windows)

anyone else having this problem?
i installed the ota from .zip directly over cyanogen 5.0.6 no wipe
sdcard is formatted fat32/ext3/swap
any help appreciated.
Is there an easy way to find out which of the currently installed apps have been updated to support FroYo's apps2sd?
There has to be a better way than to open Manage applications, sort by size and then click on on each app..

There's a free app on the market called "App 2 SD", it shows all apps that can be moved and moves them for you (that should be all of them
Visit this link from your phone or use Chrome-to-phone if you used the shell command above) if you're cool like that:
App2SD
[EDIT] Having the App 2 SD app running after using the command above will crash the apps!
yeah if you want to spend ages compiling
Tried firefox for android beta2 today and it freezed my phone, so I uninstall it only to realise that it locked 13MB of my internal memory permanently probably due to bad uninstall. Tried to reinstall it so that I can uninstall it again but it didn't allow me to install again saying that I don't have enough memory (though i still have ~45 MB free internal memory).
Anyone knows where does firefox install to? I couldn't find it in any of the app directory (not in data\app or system\app, nothing in dalvik cache and data\data as well). having 14MB memory locked is really a paint considering how small our milestone memory is.
Please help.
Thanks

1.Do you have a recent nandroid backup? that would be a simple fix?
2. What rom and kernel are you using?
3. Is your phone rooted? Probably yes...All the apps go to /system/app, unless you have apps2sd installed
4. If it's not there and it's not in "manage applications" then probably it's a an error of your rom showing erroneous available space.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
1) I am using XT720, we don't have nandroid backup tools yet
2) Stock EU rom and kernel for XT720
3) yes, rooted. I am sure it's not in /system/app (mine has got apps2sd)
4) I guess I'll probably need to reflash the rom to get rid of it then. a bit troublesome but no choice I guess.
Something about the firefox is that if you install it you'll find that the space taken up by the firefox is much bigger than the .apk+dalvik cache+data in the normal app installation path. some portion gets installed into somewhere else which nobody knows where. My friend with a Nexus one try to move it to sd but it simply won't move the whole thing because part of it does not install to the /app.
Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll wait another day or two before I flash it to stock again.
Many thanks

Can you go into recovery? ADB commands actually work as root there.
You also said you have app2sd - I'm guessing the ext version. You can browse around the ext partition if you have something that can read it (like Ubuntu) and delete it from the card as well.
- Look into your /cache partition and delete every download*.apk
- Look into /data/app and look if there is still an apk left
- Look into /data/data and see if a Firefox-folder is located there - delete it!
You can do all this with RootExplorer
Then you should be fixed
Milestone isn't supported. I think I read it somewhere on the mozilla site. There's some known issue logged somewhere
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Check if there is any "*.tmp" files under /data/app ?
I was locked some memory due to unsuccessful install of "Pocket Legends", and found out that the apks were stored in both "/cache/downloadfile.apk" and "/data/app/vmxyzxyz.tmp".
Wow this has been the most helpful phone yet in the Beta Testing...Unfortunatley at this time we have more then enough testers for the DHD. Thank you guys and support for DHD should be in the app soon
My team has developed an app for multibooting android rom's from the sd. We are looking for Beta Testers for the DesireHD. The app is called BootManager and is in the market. It currently supports HTC Incredible, Moto D1, Htc Vision, Htc Thunderbolt. We want to expand the devices but need testers. It should work for all htc phones with root and s-off but we need some variables for your specific devices. If you are interested you can pm me with the following info:
Partition sizes for system, data, and cache. You can find these by typing busybox df -h in adb shell or a terminal.
Gmail address you use for the market: We need this to add you as a tester to our market account so that you pass the license verification without having to purchase the app.
If you are interested in testing this app just send me the info and I can put it into our app and send you a copy to test. The app allows you to install up to 4 rom's on sd plus the one on the phone and boot between them. More info is available at our website in my sig.
We would appreciate any help we can get on improving our app!!
Amazing stuff guys.
Can't wait to test
Absolutely brilliant!! , I can't hold my excitement any longer
This is definitely going to get very popular very fast within the dhd community, especially with all the fantastic ROM's and kernels being released here so frequently
Thank you again for all your hard work into getting such a brilliant feature out to the masses,
Keep up the excellent work m8,

hiya m8, any rom u flash via CWM or 4ext recovery [phone rom] will be stock apps supplied with that rom, so you will need to install Boot Manager again, either by backup [titanium etc] or via the apk.
any rom installed to sdcard [rom1,rom2 etc] using boot manager will have boot manager access straight away so no need to install
hope this helps buddy
edit... also if you have been given the apk file for the DHD beta, then it should have the values for the DHD already [when boot manager first runs it shouldnt say unsupported device and ask for entries, but if you want to save a little space you can edit the values for smaller data.img as default is 1.12gb ]

Yep, tried that but for some reason it's fidgety. It takes a few goes to make it accessible from my computer but it does get there eventually. Maybe there's a knack to it that I haven't caught on to yet.
Have you been successful yet?
I'm still getting FC's trying to install roms.
Could you share your initial setup with me.
I'm confused by "SD block". Not sure whether they are wanting location, size of SD, size of clusters. It also doesn't state what units to use ie Gb, Mb, Mib.
I really hope I can get this working, it's such a great concept.
Thanks for your answer

Ok, so to help everybody out a little, here is word for word my response from init2winitapps
"the sdcard block for dhd is /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 also just to double check
device should be spade
system size should be 550 (which is mb but just enter the numbers)
data size should be 1150
cache size should be 296
Those numbers don't have to be exact but should be close to those"
Hope it works out for everyone!

I skipped ICS because it was very laggy, but this ROM is great!
I'm just having a couple of problems and questions about it.
Tethering turns itself off right after turning it on. I've tried a 3rd party application but the problem persists.
Notification's volume are low after changing sound to vibrate, silent and back to normal. No matter if sound settings are crancked all the way up.
I know that the camera is glitchy but I just wonder if there is ever going to be a solution for this.
I executed the A2SD command, but I'm not sure of what it does, how it works and how to check if it's working. I used Link2SD with my previous rom.
Just in case, before installing this rom I did a full wipe.
I use wired thetering with the app in that thread and works great.
Camera - hopefully some day.
A2SD moves dalvik cache to SD card optionaly you can move even application data but it can slower your phone.

Nothing to do. Even mounts2sd fails to resolve the memory issue.
Well not really.
I used the reverse mode which is the only mode that i can boot up the phone.
No problem with External Data and Cache Data, and if I go into settings --> memory, the phone rightly shows 2GB of internal memory (as well as the partition on microSD card), but into the app the Internal Data remains limitated to 136MB, so I can't install so many apps (in my case 5 apps).

I looked for on Play Store but there isn't

Nothing to do. Even mounts2sd fails to resolve the memory issue.
Well not really.
I used the reverse mode which is the only mode that i can boot up the phone.
No problem with External Data and Cache Data, and if I go into settings --> memory, the phone rightly shows 2GB of internal memory (as well as the partition on microSD card), but into the app the Internal Data remains limitated to 136MB, so I can't install so many apps (in my case 5 apps).

I have used this successfully on VJ's CM10.1 before. Takes a bit of setup in the app though. It'll give you a missing swap error when you first reboot, which you can ignore.
Thanks, but this is the app I was talking about in my last post (and it doesn't resolve the issue).
I thought M2SD was a different application than mounts2sd.

They both are the same
I've attached an older version of m2sd which I've used till recently. I use a2sd now as m2sd was a little slow for me. Here's what you do:
a) Flash this zip as soon as you flash the ROM ( After the first boot ofcourse ) . Do not flash it after installing all the apps, etc. You may not get the desired results.
b) I'd recommend installing apps directly from Play Store and not from any backup app.
c) After flashing,in the mounts2sd app, you will see the data displayed as your sd-ext size. If you goto phone memory, you will see a big integer (in negative). Don't worry about it.
Install apps now.
Thank you sphinxcs898. I'll try soon this version and I'll let you know the result.

Well, in my intentions I wanted to use a2sd but I've a issue when I tried to install the script:
Code:
a2sd install found block device: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
So, since you say that you are using it now, I wonder how you managed to make it work. If there are specific procedures to be followed.
Tthanks in advance.

Nopes, nothing special other than what the OP mentioned. a2sd install followed by Y N Y. which software did you use to repartition your sd card? Did you do it on a Linux system? Or did you use a recovery like 4EXT?

Try partioning using 4EXT. Should solve your problem
Sent from my Nexus One
Just tried but the warning remain.
I've ignored it and I went on with Y Y Y. At the reboot I've tried
Code:
# a2sd xdata
followed by Y Y, and at the next reboot the internal memory showed is 2GB (just like the partition).
Now I try to reinstall (trought Play Store) all the apps I need.
I hope the problem is resolved.

Sadly, I'm a newbie and I think I'm the only one who even visits here (besides the uploaders whom we all love <3)
Uh, you are on the stock rom by gionee, right?
One possible issue could be that your apps were installed on the SD card/"memory card", something happened to the "Android" folder on the SDcard/'memorycard' and that is why it shows in the menu as "installed" but it won't open (because the .ASEC file on the SD card cannot be detected"
Solution: Uninstall from the Settings->Application menu and try re-installing the app from play store
