Has anyone else noticed that the Facebook app is very slow at loading pictures in the last day or 2? I have almost a full 4G signal. I almost wonder if Verizon has done something??
I had a conversation with Verizon tech about this issue. 4 bars 4G signal, and running speed test I get 3.XX mbps DL, and 8.XX mbps upload speed. I connect to wifi in my house DL speed jumps to 30 + mbps
There is something going on with Verizons network. The 2nd level tech put in a ticket for this issue.

Sorry if this has been posted before but this morning I noticed the phone is in 3G data mode!
Any idea what speeds Rogers is offering?
Also noticed phone switching to HSPDA from time to time.
it might switch because its accesing something on the network...haven't measured my speeds as of yet...will let u know
I am getting around 300 kbit/sec off dslreports.com
send me the link? (only have 10 MB plan)
I have problem with my captivate such that 3G data speed(according to Speedtest.net app) does not go over 300-400 kbps. Also app chooses closest server as Wichita Kansas and I am in in Portland Oregon.
Besides the speedtest app Internet browsing is slow in general even though signal is good ,3-4 bars constantly.
About 1/2 mile away from my work place ATT has put new 7.2Mbps tower but even in close proximity of the tower my download speed does not go over .5 Mbps.
I got new SIM card at ATT store but that did not help either.
BTW phone is rooted
Any suggestion would be appreciated
The tower is 7.2 megabits. Your theoritical speed limit is about 1000 kbps so...did you try intalling the hsupa modem? Be warned that it will screw up bt and headset controls
Using the power of the force close
Have you tried the speed test multiple times? I verified my tethering with really high speeds which were cut dramatically the next morning. It could be time of day or just lousy network congestion. Try again over wifi and compare to your computer for a benchmark.

On wifi there's no problems at all. But seriously regardless of the time of the day or location I do not get anything better than average EDGE speed even the phone shows 3g icon constantly. Is there some APN setting that I need to check.
I compared the download speed to iphone4 , 3gs, HTC ARIA and motorola q9h on the same time of the day and on same location and captivate gets at most 1/3 of download speed of the other 4 phones. (Other 4 phones get in average 1.2 Mbps download)
Not to mention that even that speed is actually low for HSDPA. I did not flash HSUPA since I'm not so concerned with upload speeds

Hello
Can anyone help me? I use the speedtest app to check my speed because it takes awhile to load internet pages. I have full bars H+ but only getting 0.56 mb download and 0.76 upload.
My server points to Kansas city even though I'm in Seattle wa area.
I'm running on the new cyanogenmod 7.1
Thanks in advance.
sounds about right for some att towers, in less populated (ie the farm fields) you'll get that speed.20 minutes east of Cleveland i get 1.5 to 2.5 download speeds
Should I get a new Sim card it has been a couple years since then?
Thanks

I will help you to increase the speed of the internet....You can use the latest Browsers, Like Opera and reset the mobile before that, get the new settings from your service provider. So you can install the virus protection software, use the tips in user manual to how to browse or use GPRS fastly sure it is that or get that details from Online Mobile official or sites...But signal is important to get full speed in internet,You can check the speed of the internet at IP-Details.com
Hello guys...
I am using P990h with CM7.1.0 , baseband 725 . For some reason internet speeds are very slow (0.5 to 1.8 mbps with HSPA and 9.5 Mbps on wi-fi with Verizon fios) , when I had stock ROM 2.2 I used to get 4 Mbps on HSPA in the same exact location and up to 15 Mbps on my wi-fi , my PC is getting the 15 Mbps right now with wifi , and my friend iPhone 4S is getting around 4 Mbps on 3G.
So, I am not sure what is the reason, but I only care about fixing the internet speed on 3G/HSPA. I don't want to go stock ROM even with Gingerbread, because I already tried it (but didn't test internet speeds) and once I booted the phone for the first time I again got voicemail indicator on, of course with no messages.
Can any one help ? do you think changing basebands will help ? and if so, how can I do that ?
Also forgot to mention .. On phone calls, people on the other side have a very hard time hearing / understanding me but I hear them very very well ...
I had my Nexus 6 (M 6.0.1) activated on Sprint yesterday to test their network with the idea of cutting my bill in half. I live in a Spark enabled area ad was hoping that my home would see better service than my friends with Sprint that have older phones have seen. While I find that areas between the Spint store and my home have some real possibilities, there were a surprising number of dead spots ( I let LTE Discovery run and checked at lights). At home, according to LTE Discovery it sees the 3 bands but I am in a fringe area and 41 apparently won't connect or if it does no data passes. I seem to alternate between Band 25 -110.0 dBm and Band 26 -101 dBm.
Yet, yesterday I was getting consistent 6 Mbps to 12 Mbps. This was on a Sunday which with T-Mobile would have been a peak usage day. Today, on what would be a light traffic day (my neighborhood would be gone to work today) ! am barely getting 1 Mbps. I have powered down, checked settings, nothing seems to work. Any ideas why this is happening and what I could do about it? I am sitting in exactly the same spot I was sitting yesterday.
So, before I drive over to Sprint and turn this off, I was wondering if there are any suggestions. 6 - 12 Mbps I could live with, but not 1 Mbps. I left T-Mobile for similar speeds. AT&T manages 20-30 Mbps in the same area. I would really like to cut my bill, but it has to do better than what I see today.

your data speeds will differ all the time, at the same place, no matter what. oh, and btw, sprint sucks! and 6-12mbps sucks for lte, i see from 30-60mbps on tmobile.
