[Q] Apps to remove from S5? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Can we get a real list of apps to remove from stock touchwiz on the S5. Most of the lists are incomplete. out of date, or to basic.

There's already lists floating around the forums, should be as to do a search. Thanks

Anyone have the link, I have searched and cannot find an S5 list?

[Q] Note 3 Safe To Freeze List

I have been looking, and while I have found lists for S4 and S5, I haven't found a Note 3 specific list of apps safe to freeze. I finally got tired of my phone having wakelock issues, and S Finder annoying me, so I finally rooted. First order of business is freezing all the bloat. If anyone knows of a good list, or if the S4 or S5 lists will work, I would much appreciate it

Check the development section. There is a debloat script that you can run to get rid of all the Samsung/AT&T bloatware. However, that requires you to have recovery. If you just want to freeze some apps that you don't need, you can use that debloat script as reference to manually freeze some apks.

Me, too! I just rooted mine and installed Titanium Backup Pro to freeze some of the applications that I KNOW are useless bloatware. My problem is; despite freezing them, when I reboot my phone, they come back like a bad case of the flu.
I need to stop the madness. My battery is dropping like a madman.
Uninstall them, that's what I did

[Q] View Entire Messages & Emails on Galaxy Gear??

I've searched google up and down and cannot find the answer to my question. The notifications on the watch are great, but is it possible to view the entire message on the watch? I find it odd that if I receive a text I can't view the whole thing and need to pull out my phone. I was hoping someone developed a way around this.
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
You can find a lot of information here on the forum when you search for it and read up on it.
It used to be possible, on earlier versions of Gear Manager when you ticked "full preview" in the Gear Manager app.
However since a few months, Samsung has updated their Gear Manager app and since then not all apps show full preview anymore.
You can try to install an earlier build of Gear Manager.
Thank you for your post. I will do some more research on that.
I think i'm going to root and install the Null rom, hopefully it will help solve a lot of the annoying restrictions of the stock software.

Missing Samsung Apps

A couple good apps have been removed by verizon. The Samsung Browser and Smart Monitor.
Smart Monitor shows up in setting/applications but there is no way to open it.
If anybody can find installable apk's please post them

gear manager and samsung custom ROMS don't play nice together

I have been trying all the advice I can find for two weeks. It's an obsession now, it's not healthy. Any help would be life changing. I have a lot of experience flashing roms and tinkering, I've been doing this for several years... like since CM7 with multiple phones. usually I can follow some instructions and make things work but this has been an epic fail.
I have a galaxy s3 and an s4 I've tried gear manager on both.... connects fine with a touchwiz ROM on the phone(s)., but I despise touchwiz and I'd rather get rid of the watch if I have to. I almost always use AOSP roms... currently CM13. gear will not work. I've tried editing build.prop changing samsung to htc. I've downloaded .apk's for gear plugin and samsung accessory service and install before and after gear manager. I've tried multiple older versions.
the latest stumbling block is an error message that says, "check if your phone is compatible and if the samsung gear app needs to be updated"
has anyone seen this message, I can't find any similar problems on this site or anywhere else?
am I missing something. did they update the gear app and now previous solutions are not working?
Thanks for your help. XDA usually saves me! I have never had to ask for help before.
I had the same issue with my Galaxy s5 kltedv with AICP Nougat custom rom. I got the Gear S3 and downloaded the gear manager app but it wouldn't open due to it "detecting and unauthorised OS." In the meantime I've had to return to the stock touchwiz (MM) rom to get it to work. Seems ridiculous that the app won't open with a custom rom yet it can be used on non Samsung phones. I'm still hunting around for an answer/solution so can't help you out just yet.
Found a work around answer for you at https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/help/samsung-devices-running-cm13-12-1-pair-t3290076
2Mecky: Try editing your build.prop and replace your make with "google" or "htc". I've been able to get as far as getting the manager to open on my S5, but I can't get it to detect my Gear 2. I just got the watch today, though so I haven't had a lot of time to mess around. I am kind of surprised that I was able to get this far, though.
