My HTC Flip Case After 1 Day..

Damn I was going to order one of those!! What does the retailer say?

Holy moly. I just started using one of these today while waiting for my Noreve case! Think I'm going straight back to the other case until it arrives.
I would send it back to the supplier/HTC and see what they say. Does not inspire me with confidence at all.

My goodness , i was planning to buy it from my local htc distributer . Now i think im planning to switch to others .

Is this case actually leather or plastic like the sleeve one from HTC.
I have ordered a Noreve one but was also looking at the HTC one.

I've had the same case for nearly 4 weeks now - constant use every day and its still as good as new!!!!
Reference the question above - the case is made from leather with a felt lining - and it fits the phone perfectly without increasing its size too much - so unless your happy with something more bulky I strongly recommend this case..... really!!!!
As I've said - I think you've just been unlucky and you should ask for a replacement.....

Oic , i think i will reconsider again if you said like this . May be just sometimes we were unlucky !!!!

I looked at mine again yesterday in more detail. The right hand strap that has failed is considerably thinner and "weaker" than the other side. I am therefore not surprised that this happened.
Have ditched mine, gone back to a more secure case until the Noreve comes in. Not really prepared to risk a £500 phone in a case that can fail like this one just has.
The annoying thing is that, from a design perspective, its quite a good case. Just seems there are quality issues with it.

I had it on order to weeks from Mobilefun but I ended up cancelling bcause they were incapable of providing approriate stiock update information and ignored my requests for information.
I've currently got the Proporta Mizu Shell on order from Expansys.

It is a matter of personal choice of what suites. I have had and still have many cases that dont fit or you can't use the phones features. You get what you pay for in my opinion.

it happened the same day I got the phone and it was while I was at work so wasn't even full on it.
haven't got hold of tue company yet since I can't remember should brought it from i got to scan emails .
I didn't get my phone till 23, didn't take it to work
an yes it was an offical htc one feel so cheated! I guess you get what you pay for!

My point is that the noreve case is £40 and the one on ebay is £7. so its not a matter of "you get what you pay for" its the same!!

My Noreve case was £29.95 inc not £40.
If you take the time to look more closley they are not exactly the same but far from it. Im happy with my £29.95 Noreve Case you buy the £7.00 one. As i said before it is personal preference.

First of all, I feel like I got ripped off, this case is nothing but annoying, the flappy door always get in the way even when its flipped around to the back,
you think they would atleast have put a magnet on the door so it has another purpose as a smart cover, I feel like they rushed it, and it's barely worth 10$, let alone 19.99$+Shipping. I would rather have a 10$ leather or tpu case from ebay.
I wanted to state my opinion and get the forums opinion, how do you feel about it?​

Not trying to be, but when you spend almost 30$ on something that is worth 7.99$, and is nothing but a bother, yea, im a tad bit mad, but not too much, just got annoyed and decided to make a rage thread about the case.

Not saying its trash but certainly isn't worth the price (prob worth like $15 shipped? Maybe $10 and $15-20 if it had a sleep function)

i saw a video review of it on Youtube a couple weeks ago and it looked cheap. Reminded me of a TPU case with a flap.

I'd buy it off you for $15 shipped.

Overall I like it, EXCEPT for one really annoying flaw: The hinge is WAY too stiff and it keeps trying to close itself if you fold it behind the device.

Hm, make it 19$, and ill ship it to you, and thats me loosing like 8-9$ in a day.

I'm surprised anyone bought it. The first time I looked at the Nexus 7 I quickly looked for accessories for it on the Google Play website, looked at the cover ... said NO, looked at the extra power adapter, said NO for the second time.
Everyone knows there would be a flood of covers and other things for the device in a short while.

It's a pos ripoff. Much better out there at half the price.

Maybe I should put some Elmers glue on mine, and sprinkle some glitter on it, or put some crazy eyes on it.

In hindsight (being what it is), Asus admitted that more of these sold than expected. The price reflects a premium on brand, and it was very plain what these were going to be like from the pictures. They looked like basic silicone with no added features, and they are. Asus said nothing about the sleep feature of the Nexus 7. There was no reason to believe that their cover would take advantage of it.
Had I bought one of these, I also would feel ripped off. Not by Asus or Google, but by my inability to hang on to my $20 based on the facts at hand.

Actually I kind of liked how it looked from the pictures - what the pictures don't show is how badly it handles trying to put the flap behind the device.

The look is nice, but what you bring up is what I immediately thought when I saw it for the first time. There's nothing to hold the cover back and it's not hinged in any way. Asus even had pictures of it splayed out on a flat surface. A video would have made it apparent for sure, and like I say... I could have been wrong at the time. I simply put my bet on the other color.

Did you watch the numerous video reviews on this forum that said the cover sucked balls before you bought it?

That gives us an idea of the insane profit margins they get out of these things.

I've tried one of those out at a vendor in a mall. The magnet is too strong and will turn your screen off if you hold it with the cover folded back. Just a warning.

the tablet first goes into a ugly bezel blocking "leather" sleeve then it Velcro itself to the case
pictures to follow shortly, it looks better in the picture than the real thing but for 3 bucks it is worth it

I agree and am not arguing with you, but I'm just wondering if you can name any hazardous material that isn't lead.

most if not all these low tech gadget accessories are made from similar materials at more or less crappy working environments by workers that are not so well compensated, that's just business, no sense of over compensating someone when you get get the same for less
point being that you could have paid 20 bucks for a case yet you will never know for sure if they mistreat their worker or used materials that are otherwise harmful to your body
while i see your point, i guess the false sense of getting better quality when paying extra or by buying brand name is something that i disagree with
by the way, it is just a tablet case, not a baby feeding bottle or health supplement, even if they did use something that can possibly be harmful to our body, i doubt it will have any significant health effects before the case or tablet become obsolete

with this case thats false it does not do that. i have the case and love it. and the smell everyone is talking about is due to the fact its fake leather fyi and its in a tight package. ive had mine for a while now the odor smell went away after a day being out of the package.

These cases are polyurethane, and that's the "chemical smell". It's normal.

My Bugdroid came today and it's going back. It was advertised as having button protection and it simply has cut outs. Not sure what type of "button protection that is but not as advertised.

Looks like a cool case but I must have button protection.

Good luck with the return dude. Last time (first and last) I dealt with them I went back and forth for 6 weeks over a return just to be told in the end it was "now too long past the sale date" - yet I emailed them first the day I got the cases.
Please write back and let us know how it turns out.

@Amazon handles returns almost instantly, that's why I deal with them!

Sorry to hear of your issues but I deal with Amazon partly due to their return process. I buy a lot of things and return many items to them all the time. Never had one issue. In this case, the description on their site is inaccruate. They never asked any questions and sent me a free return shipping label. They will even have UPS pick it up from me but my wife is always out shopping so I just have her drop it off.
Now, when dealing with merchants that are not Amazon fullfilled, that can be a different story. I typically avoid ordering items not fulfilled by Amazon.

Ya I do now too, learned my lesson. Thankfully it was a cheap one. I ended up finding this case on Amazon for $2.95 while the 2 colored options were $15. Next day they raised the price though. Nice case, comes with a belt clip/holster - even the clip on the holster folds backwards and words as a kickstand, pretty cool imo. (Case has a kickstand too, I came from using Evo's with em built it)

I also use their case for my Google Nexus 7, not a complaint to be had about either

I finally broke down and went with the Black UAG.
I really like the case I have now but know it offers very little protection. I tend to drop my phone a few times. If you want minimal protection this case might work. If the back were totally clear, I'd like it more. It is a soft TPU case but fits very well and has button protection.

If only the BugDroid had button protection, I may have kept it but again, I think I need more protection than the thin TPU cases provide.

Fake Folio Case Nexus 5x

Bought a folio case on eBay , I think it might a copy. Packaging looked legit, but after comparing it with some genuine ones. The wording on the package is slightly different instead of just having the word "Case" and "Nexus 5x" on the front it says Folio. The real issue are the buttons , they have no feedback what so ever, they are not raised like on the original case and trying to wake up the phone or raise the volume takes multiple tries. I also noticed that the font on the fake case is more bold versus a sharper looking font on the original.

That sucks It's definitely a fake. I had to buy mine of Amazon...they still have a few legit grey ones left for the same price as there were at on the Google Store ($35). Unfortunately Google dropped them the very day they dropped the Nexus line and announce the Pixel. I have SCOURED the internet looking for original ones and the grey ones on Amazon are it! Every single thing on eBay (and every other place) are really inexpensive (read:cheap) knockoffs from China in colors that Google never sold lol. Even Adopted doesn't sell them anymore. Also, be careful on Amazon...their some confusion regarding exactly which case it is. The one you have here is not the folio, just the regular one, and people selling on Amazon have mixed it up too.
Anyway, I'm sorry to see people get burned like that. Just a suggestion...I would demand my money back instead of a repalcement if possible, but of course do what you want. Best of luck!

"Folio" is a known N5X case maker. They do copy the original one. Their price is usually around 7-15usd. If you pay for it more than that, then the seller scammed you.

I have some OEM Adopted cases that I have for sale. I have 4 non-folio light grey ones, and 3 folio dark grey ones.

I just received this case from eBay two days ago, it's fine. Just press a little harder on the buttons.

I purchased a knock-off case from Ebay myself (was maybe $5?) and I'm pretty happy with what I got. Its certainly not as nice as the original, but for $5, its really hard to complain.
The buttons were stiff at first, but have loosened up over time.

yupp my brother bought a case from ebay. and I did from google. i see the difference in build quality, the cloth on back is cheap. case openings are not very precise.(but workable) etc.

Biggest giveaway is the camera opening: not really angled/curved like the original. otherwise the fabric they use is just straight-up velour or whatever haha. Probably has a nicer feel than the somewhat confusing material that the official cases use. I swore I saw on on eBay just a few minutes ago that looked like it was suede; I'd definitely deal with a knockoff case for that material haha

Does anyone maybe know where to find original one if you're outside of US?
Found couple of them on eBay for around 15$ and they seem legit, but the shipping costs exceed the price twice (33$ or so, shipped from US to Croatia).
I cannot find them on Amazon though (neither com, co.uk or de). Any help would be appreciated. I'm interested in regular one, not the one with screen cover.
