I have the screen where the phone and computer have a ! between...how do I get into download mode from here so I can use Odin??? I've tried the vol up + vol down + power button and also tried using the command 'adb reboot download' and neither of those work......
Try this.
Open Odin
Remove battery/sim/sdcard
Put battery in
Hold only the volume buttons
Plug USB in
If this doesnt work do the process again but only holding up or down, not both at the same time.

Hi, wondering if you guys could help me.
My HTC One is stuck on bootloop. I tried to install a GPE rom with S-ON and now it get's to the first screen of the setup and restarts itself. The problem is the volume keys are defunt therefore I can't get into recovery to flash another rom.
Is there anyway I can force the phone to boot to recovery or to hboot ? I tried to «adb reboot recovery» on boot but with no luck.
Really appriciate any help.
Put it under a light and try to longpress Power and vol-.
HI Guich, thanks for the reply.
I did try what you suggested: shined the flash from another cellphone on the One, at the top where the sensors are, and long pressed power+volume-. If I hold the buttons the phone will just restart endlessly and if I let go of the power button and hold the (defunt) volume- the phone will try to boot as standard.
What would the light do to the phone ? Is it supposed to trigger some of the sensors ?
Thanks!

His intention was to re-verify whether you were pressing the volume down key and not the volume up key. There are no hidden sensors im aware of. if nobody else can give u a solution, the only choice wud b a motherboard replacement frm HTC itself

Umh, if you longpress power and vol- it will boot?
Strange.
If you longpress under the light, theoritecally, it have to boot into the bootloader...
raghav kapur that's what I trying to avoid
Guich it boots because the volume button is broken.
I think my only chance is to, some how, force the phone to get into recovery or hboot whilst booting I just don't know how I could do that without the volume buttons.
Just another bit of information.
When I've got the phone connected to the pc, Windows tries to install an MTP device but never gets to finalize the installion because the phone reboots. If I leave the battery flat and then plug it in, with the charging animation on the phone, Windows tries to install an 'unkown device'.

how do i suppose to do that, where no power no led and no response from FlashTools....?
please give some instruction Step by Step
I already have CM11 (4.4) kitkat with Gapps.
but how to give the kernel for cm11 4.4?
thnks...mate
Hey, first to answer your question, the CM 11 kernel is inside the ROM .zip called "boot.img". So just to understand you, you have had eXistenZ Ultra 1.3.7 (which is in case no ROM but a kind of update) and then you Installed mahdi ROM over it, right? And now your phone is like dropped into a pool. If so the chance to reanimate your phone is unfortunately very low. I heard about a USB-JIG and J-TAG which can help but don't know if that works.
Nevertheless, I hope I could help a little bit and good luck

@shojeep, first, calm down! Most of Sony's devices only brick when you try to do something with TA partition...
If you tried to flash a wrong kernel it will only softbrick.
first, breathe a little, keep calm and in hope is gonna work.
Now, with all the calm of the world, try the following: hold the glory hole poweroff button for 10 seconds (located on the back cover of the phone)
next, you will connect usb cable on phone (DONT CONNECT THE OTHER SIDE ON PC, JUST USB ON PHONE)
then, you have to hold just the vol+ button by 10 seconds, and NOW you connect the usb on PC. Phone should be detected by Windows 7.
now you open flashtool, and see if the phone is being detected by FlashTool.
if yes, hold power button until phone vibrates. Now you connect the phone on the pc holding vol- button to enter on flashmode
flash this: 2.254 kernel , and later flash the full ftf 2.254 to the phone.
hope it works.

So I did a stupid thing and didn't do my homework. I flashed CM 10.2 for Xperia T (Mint) on my rooted Xperia TL but didn't unlock the bootloader first. The phone won't boot. Just a black screen. If I hold the power button, it vibrates once, but nothing comes up on the screen. No LED light indicating charging while plugged in.
Have I just destroyed the phone?

No. A custom kernel won't work on a locked bootloader, so that is essentially your problem. Just put your phone in flash mode and use flashtool to flash a stock FTF and it should boot up just fine.

Then maybe put your phone in fastboot mode and flash the kernel first... IDK, I did that once and I'm pretty sure that's how I fixed it. With 7zip you can extract the "kernel.sin" file from the FTF, and use Flashtool in Fastboot mode to flash that kernel.
Thanks. I've been trying to put it into fastboot and can't get it to work. From what I have read, I need to hold power+volDown, right? I've held power + volUp to get it to vibrate three times, then connected it with the power & volDown buttons held and nothing - no blue light for fastboot mode. I've currently got it plugged in (using the oem Sony cable) with a rubber band around the power & volDown buttons. Maybe that'll work... I dunno. The led is just staying red, and I can't see it listed as a fastboot devices by typing "fastboot devcies" when cmd is open in the correct folder in the sdk... Any ideas on how to get this done?
Thanks for your help, everyone.

It's a bit hard to understand what you're trying to do
Fastboot mode = just press vol.up, keep on pressing, connect USB, when you get a blue light release the vol. button
Flash mode = just press vol.down, keep on pressing, connect USB when Flashtool is ready to flash the FTF, when you get a green light release the vol. button
As you can see, you don't have to press the PWR button (only pwr + vol.up to reset, but you already know it).
Usually it's enough to flash a new FTF... I don't know why you get that error: maybe a wrong button combination or maybe you didn't install the drivers needed for flashtool.
If your battery is almost discharged, the fastboot method is good to flash only the kernel in order to recharge the battery and then flash an entire FTF.
I guess your device is ok.
Anyway, have you already seen this guide?
I'll give it a shot. I can't seem to get it into flash mode or fastboot mode, though. When I hold down the Volume up or volume down button and try to plug it in, the light stays red and the computer makes a "connect" sound (Windows 7 - rising tones), then multiple "disconnect" sounds (falling tones). The light stays red and the phone is not connected.
I'm downloading a stock firmware and flashtool and will report back when I've tried it some more.

I suggest removing the battery, if you have the chance.
Keep the battery removed and press and hold power and volume up buttons simultaneously. Then plug the phone to your computer and you'll enter fastboot mode.
I revived my XV with the same red led that way.
Had to remove the battery before it would work, tho.
Good luck bro!
Sorry it took so long to get to this. I've just been using my backup in the meantime.
I took the battery out and plugged it in like you suggested. Worked like a charm! I've got it flashed and running now. Thanks!

Do you have Motorola Device Manager on your PC? If not, install it.
With your phone plugged into the wall, press and hold the power button to see if you can get any response. If not, press and hold the volume down for about 3 seconds, then without releasing the volume down, press and hold the power button. Keep both buttons pressed together for about 3 seconds and release. If nothing happens, press volume up and see if you can get into bootloader mode.
Had you downgraded to 4.4.2 from 4.4.4?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/orig-development/bootloader-tool-motoflasher-t2959081. do check any changes in the device manager when your phone gets connected. Any exclamation mark in the device manager while you connect it under usb ports? try changing usb cable and pc and ports.
If it "died" right after you hit install and still connects to PC I doubt it's dead. Try pressing Volume Down and then Power Key, hold both for more than 2 Minutes (yes, more than 120 seconds!) then release both and see if it reboots (which it should if your problem is what I suspect) or you can turn it on again or enter bootloader.
Was the 4.4.2 you tried to upgrade to 4.4.4 modified in any way? SuperSU installed or any changes to system files?

I can't see any changes in the device manager because 5 seconds after i plug in the phone, it "disconnects" so i have no time to check.
