I am going to buy a galaxy tab tomorrow and i have two choices the euro version and the tmobile us version given that both work on 3g in my region ,but i noticed that the tmobile is announced with 640 mb ram vs 512 on eu is that right that they have different or what ?
Exactly how many different region/localizations of the Galaxy Note are there? Isn't the software "one size fits all"
There's a UK version, an India Version etc. How about a US version and and International Version?
Still not confirmed if there's a hardware difference among these regional versions.
I checked Amazon and the G. Note varies in price from 690 to 800 USD, and I have a feeling they are different "region versions".
Is there any difference other than probably the software manual and AC plug that's included? The software inside the phone is all the same right?
I live in the US but I'm worried if I end up with something else say the UK or India version, I'll only be able to download Apps and firmware updates specific to these regions.
Sorry for being such a clueless noob, I'm currently using the Nokia N900, all other phones I used before that were Symbian OS, if I get the Note, it would be my first Android device. I'm not aware of how these things work for Android.

And not all of the versions listed above got the 2.3.6 update so far. I read that the German version got its update through Kies and my Note (Polish XEO version) got it two days ago.
You won't have any app availability differences as long as your Note is on the same android version. So a UK version and a German version both on 2.3.5 will have access to the same apps on the app store.
As for update availability, different regions seem to get them at different times, but they're not that far apart.
Also note that some devices support multiple region codes, changeable through *somethingorother# codes. Not all of them though. My XEO didn't have anything but XEO.
connectivity
hi... just want to ask if the current galaxy note can connect to a 4g or LTE network or there is a specific LTE version of this pone for certain region...ex. in UAE
thanks in advance
Mines kka what does that mean?
I have the the unlocked German version here in the US, and yes, I can connect to

May I ask where you purchased; if amazon.com which vendor?
To answer the question for the OP, as far as the actual hardware is concerned, everything is the same (with the exception of the 4G LTE version currently available in Korea). Usually, the differences in other regions are software based. Usually the differences include, but are not limited to, pre-loaded language packs/support, region specific pre-loaded software (like BBC iPlayer for example), etc. Language support usually isn't an issue as this is set up when you initially fire up the device the first time.
Sometimes, other tweaks include slightly different drivers for your modem/radio in order to fine tune it to best take advantage of frequencies used in a particular region.
When you go to About Phone in your settings, your Baseband version refers to your modem/radio/kernel. Build refers to the region specific pre-loaded software and OS version (or the custom ROM you may be running!).
As for the two (as far as I know) different hardware versions of the Note, one supports LTE and the other does not. The HSPA+ version (which is the one I bought off Amazon) features the 1.4 ghz Exynos chip that Samsung makes themselves, whereas the LTE version features a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip at 1.5 ghz (also still backwards compatible with HSPA+ AFAIK).
Even though the Snapdragon chip is clocked faster than the Exynos, a lot of people have argued that the latter is a much superior design. During everyday use, you're not likely to notice much of a difference between the two, but I can say for sure from experience, that the Exynos is a BEAST when it comes to HD video playback and graphics intensive games etc. (Frankly, the fact that the Exynos can outperform Tegra 2 in specifically Tegra designed games with a little tweaking speaks volumes to the prowess of the chip itself)
i live in the us and got my note fton clove in england. no problems so far with updates or any apps. the updates are relesse by regions but eventually every region gets them. when you connect with your phone it checks the samsung severs specific for your updates. no worries. i do have to say at first i couldn't get kies to connect to the phone so i downloaded kies from the uk samsung site and connected perfect. don't know if maybe it had more current drivers or what. but try that if you get stuck. the us samsung site doesn't even list the note. hopes this helps.

While I didn't scrutinize the manual in my excitement to get the Note up and running it appeared to be in French. I don't speak or read French so maybe it was a different language that merely looked like it to me but I haven't seen anything about there being a French-specific version.
P.S. Mine was purchased off eBay from a Singapore seller.
take a look at this thread or do a search about samsung region code
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356325
this should answer where it is from at least. good luck with the french manual
and I actually believe if you visit the samsung site (europe) there is an english
manual to download.
I know these were just released by VZW last month. is there anybody working on "rooting" this device? Thanks!
Hello
I am considering purchasing the Note 4 here in the UK, my question is will I be better off trying to source the exynos version or stay with snapdragon?
I am currently with Vodafone in UK - if I go with exynos will I be able to use 4G with this?
Has anyone else in the UK got the exnos version & is there an update to Lollipop yet?
Where did you buy the exynos version?
Thanks
910u taiwan is far superior to any other. works fine in the uk but probably not on 4G.
910F for O2 has the lollipop version. mine was bought off ebay from a taiwan seller
Exynos or Snapdragon

This really depends on what kind of user you are. If you like flashing custom ROMs etc the snapdragon will serve you better.
If you just want to go for stock the Exynos outperfoms the snapdragon. The difference is small though.
There is video with a full comparison on youtube:

Goodluck with your choice
Hi. Which model is the unlocked international version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active? I suspect it is SM-G870A but some sellers show it as locked and other show it as unlocked while a third shows it as region locked to, basically, the western hemisphere.
I have an i9295 and I'm happy with it, but can't find a replacement at a decent price, so I'm looking for the S5 version of the same thing.
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong thread.
Er... bump?
