Does anyone know if any of these ROMs for the Droid 3 has encryption working on it?
My company enabled encryption as a required feature in order to get mail and whatnot on my device, so I "need" to figure it out, or go back to stock.
I found the encryption section in the settings, but I just get the little green droid icon on screen, and never see a progress bar or indication that encryption completed successfully.
Anyone have any ideas if it works?

So I've been trying to use wireless tether, both Wireless Tether for Root 3.0.7 and Barnacle, but lately its been hit or miss on their success, and hardly at all if its more than one device.
My main issue is with the verizon 4g hotspot app, Im unable to start it, and it causes wifi errors. When I start it, it goes through the provision and doesnt give an error itself, but then the hotspot checkbox to turn it on/off will be checked and greyed out, and never return to normal. If I go into wireless settings, wifi just reads Error, and I have to reboot to get it back to normal.
Anyone have any expertise on fixing or reinstalling the app? I think the main issue is when I was a bit callous after rooting it and trying to remove bloatware and I did something to break it, and through factory resets it doesnt do anything. Any help is much appreciated!
P.s. I wasnt sure where this should go, so I thought this might be a fair starting point. Mods: Feel free to move as you see fit
Hi, I purchased an LG G2 2 months ago from Verizon and it was working great as a mobile hotspot until it updated to android 4.4.2. Now when I go to connect my Mac Book it either times out connecting or gives an invalid password error. I have talked to Verizon and LG tech support who have essentially had me reset the password a few dozen times to no avail. They are now telling me I should contact apple as it must be an issue with my MacBook, The hotspot does not work with my other Android or Windows based devices either and at this point it seems pretty obvious that it is not simply my macbook. Any advice? I rely heavily on the hotspot capability for my work and am unsure where to turn as each company seems to push me off on the next, resulting in a big circle of no solutions. Hoping some help will come from here! Thanks!
Have you tried going into the application manager in control panel, swiping left a couple of times until you're in the all column. Look for com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui then clear data and cache if it isn't greyed out.
Then try to configure your hotspot application all over again.
Just wondering if the encryption that comes on the 4.x builds works with the TouchPad. I've tried enabling it, and all I get is the green little droid character on screen, but no status indication of what's going on. The device goes to sleep and I can unlock it, but it doesn't look like encryption is doing anything.
Any ideas?

McBean -- did you ever get it to work? I'm in the same situation.

I am having the same problem as my employer is using a secure client which enforces that my Google Tablet be encrypted so that I can continue to connect to their Exchange server...
I am running CM9 where Flash seems to work - I was wondering if going to CM10 or 11 might give better luck for encryption ? Not sure if any folks out there have tried these CM builds ?
thx

Hello
My phone is a THL 4000.
I've been having this issue for awhile now, and although I've done plenty of research, I've not been successful in correcting this issue.
A few months ago, I was notified of a "wireless update" that improves my phones stability and radio, if I'm not mistaken, and the download I assume should be directly from the phone's manufacturer, so it has to be genuine, and yet I still get this issue. I'm aware that it's still possible to get this error pop up even on official updates and such, and I've even tried to remove the assert in the updater-script file, but I've not had any luck at all...
I've removed the asserts and it didn't work. There isn't even an assert line at the very top, but there are two at the very bottom of the file.
Please can someone download the file and check the contents, to identify the issue with their knowledge, as I severely lack on the know-how myself...
Here is a link to the updater_script: mediafire .com/download/l6r1uqw49w9hfr3/updater-script
(link has a space between fire com)
I figured that it would be more detailed & accurate for if someone else who possess the knowledge to actually know what I need to remove, and I'd greatly appreciate if someone could guide me around this pesky issue... A few days ago, my network signal all of the sudden blacked out, and it has a red x on it now; occasionally displaying a little magnifier on the signal bars and says 'no signal', 'no service', emergency calls only' in a rotation upon every time I attempt to check on the status. I've not had signal for almost 5 days now, and it has to be my phone. My SIM worked in another phone.. I'm just hoping it's this wireless network update, and I just can't seem to correct the issue and get rid of the status 7 recovery error. My phone can't be set up with a custom rom, but it is rooted, and I have CWM on it, but it doesn't get rid of error 7. I've tried removing the assert code, but with no luck... Unlike all of the other tutorials I've come across, this notepad layout doesn't include any "assert" on the first line either. Please can someone tell me how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

Most of the time when I have seen Status 7 errors when flashing ROMs it is due to an out of date custom recovery. I'm not familiar with THL (This is a Samsung forum section) but many devices will not install an OTA update when rooted or with a custom recovery installed. I do have an Acer tablet that updated while rooted, but no custom recovery was installed. An off the top of my head guess about the lack of signal would be that your device may have corrupted the modum software when you attempted the OTA. Check your device and see if the modem version corresponds to what would coincide with the bootloader version.
I was running the original Android 6.0 fine up until last night, rooted and all with the tethering bypass (I'm on Verizon grandfathered unlimited). I finally went to set out to get the security update from earlier this month so it would stop bugging me every night. I flashed my old system and boot partitions fine, flashed stock recovery, updated, and flashed TWRP again. I got my root back, so I'm basically back 100% to where I was, except without the tethering bypass, and I'm stumped.
I can't remember how I did it exactly before, and everything I'm trying isn't working. I found a entitlement bypass app (which is what I thought I did), but it isn't working right. Link for that is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/app-hotspot-entitlement-bypass-v1-1-5-9-t2705152. Sometimes it says error, sometimes it says bypassed (but still does't work), etc. Then I tried editing my build.prop file and added the net.noprovisioning=true code (might not be word for word, I'm writing this post off of memory), rebooted, and that still didn't work. It never actually gives me an error like subscription required, it just doesn't do anything. If I click the hotspot from the top drawer nothing happens, and if I do it from settings it'll grey out for a while like it's loading, but never do anything else and stay like that for a while.
Any idea what to do to get around this?
