Hi. My Moto x stock firmware is XT1052_O2-DE_4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26. Can I flash XT1052_RETAIL-DE_4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26 firmware? Both of them are here.

Apparently yes you can, I have seen another XDA member in other forum/thread saying that he'd flashed 4.4.4 Europe version on his XT1052 AsiaRetail phone.
But, if you do that , there are other post which warns the possible side effect of future OTA update failure because of the Checksum differences of the system images of the two variants.
But as long as you have your own stock firmware of the same version, you can always reflash using RSDlite or manually using fastboot command. So, I think you should not worry about future OTA update stuffs as long as you have the right stock firmware with you.
FAiled to install.
Hi BossToroech,
I tried the EU version from the link mention by you,as my IMEI is deleted accidentally and now I can't get network signals. But the package was not installed. It gave errors "Footer is wrong" and "Signature verification failed".
I'm using MOTO X XT 1052,
clockworkmod-touch-6.0.4.8.
tried flashing again and worked like charm Thanks a [email protected] !
could you please help me??
Iam using moto x XT1052 indian retail model...Many days b4 I have installed 5.1 brazalian lollipop backup via twrp but now i wanna come back to stock rom 4.4.4 kitkat via rsd lite..will it work or will my phone will brick bcoz of degrading process from 5.1 to 4.4.4??

First, your thread name is absolutly stupid. Please, next time think before using such name.
OTA stands for Over-The-Air. It means, update is done wireless and usually carries small ROM patch.

If you want some bugfixes (minor) just update it... It's not reccomended if you rooted your phone because you can lost your root
Sorry for croatian but I must say guy some truth about update
You might also want to think about where your posting your questions. The Development sections are not for question threads.
Hi, no thread similar to this appeared when I prepared to post...I wanted to create a thread for questions for anyone new to Motorola (like me!), this is popular in some other phone areas. Any major tips can be labelled in the first post for example, so the next new user can quickly find the most asked questions easily.
Also, because it's the Q&A section, anyone feel free to ask any question! :victory:
Rooting
Motorola says it voids warranty
Bootloader
You can unlock the bootloader in the phone to use custom ROMs and modifcations to your phone. Doing this automatically voids warranty, according to Motorola, and you should only do this if you read the instructions very carefully. It is very easy to brick your phone with an unlocked bootloader.
Avoiding a Bricked Phone
A bricked phone means one which does not switch on or work normally. If you can access the recovery menu or use software on your computer to restore the phone, then it is called a 'soft brick'. If you cannot switch on the phone, connect it properly to computer software or access the recovery, especially if there is no LED when you do this, then it is likely a 'hard brick'. You should be aware that while some phones can be fixed when it is 'hard bricked', the RAZR i, for now, is very hard to unbrick from this state. You should read as much as possible before you modify your phone to prevent a hard brick. Here is a thread dedicated to this.
Flash an Original ROM to your RAZR i
You can find a guide on this here with all of the tools needed to do this. Note - this does not fix "service required, code corrupt". This tool is useful for fixing an OTA brick or for testing different ROMs on the same Android version level - stay on Android 4.0 or 4.1, do not move from 4.1 to 4.0 or a you may brick your phone. Downgrading 4.1 to 4.0 with RSD Lite definitely bricks your phone.

Jelly Bean Update
It's available on some networks and non-network locked devices already, anyone you can't download it yet should have it
by early March.
Problem with Jelly Bean update? Did it say 'must register Motorola services account', 'error'? You must reset your
phone to factory settings, make sure you SIM card is properly inserted when the phone is booting again. Now it should
be fixed.
Motorola advise to reset the phone entirely after upgrade to Jelly Bean.

Rooting - OK I just got official word from Moto...yep it's void if you root. You can still get your device repaired, but an 'out of warranty fee applies'.
Mahlzeit zusammen,
Soweit so gut. alles verstanden...
Wrong Forum, here's the RazR i Section. And on XdA you should use english
Ok, first CWM on the XT910 won't work on JB. Use Safestrap or Boot Menu Manager (i recommend BMM).
About your Problem > Follow my Signature to our German Forum (XT910!) and download the EU JB Fastboot File. Flash it with RSD and all should be fine.

Let's say one was to use rsd lite to flash the ROM the phone came with removing root then use fastboot and cmd to flash the non unlocked bootloader boot logo ... would that not regain warranty? Just wondering because I figured you could blag it... if not there would probably be a way to relock bootloader? Just saying its possible isn't it?

I agree, my last 4/5/ phones were Sony phones and there are MANY guides there, I've benefited from many good people's help. Bricking a Sony phone seems almost impossible. Here, I think a lot of people need help. I bricked my first Motorola, got it replaced (free) and decided to set up help threads to avoid bricks...:victory:
is this phone worth buying for 300 euros?
I got my htc pico destroyed because of water damage so I need a new phone.
I want a phone with a bigger screen (4 - 4.3''), yet still compact
so I thought this phone was a very good solution.
but what are your thoughts about this phone, should I consider a different phone before I buy the razr i?

The Rogers Canada 4.4.2 firmware flashallthetime recommended you install is the file Blur_Version.161.44.26.ghost_row.RCI.en.CA and the file is ROGERS-CA_GHOST_KXA20.16-1.26_cid14_CFC_1FF.xml.zip. You can find it at the link below, just look through the list for Rogers Canada Android 4.4.2. This is apparently compatible with tmobile xt-1053. The actual tmobile sbf is not yet released by Motorola, but will be available at some point.

Use either rsdlite or mfastboot to flash it but just beware if things go bad you can not downgrade, so as a rule , flash only your specific carriers sbf firmware

I readed both post, but im still scared.
This is my actual situation:
1.- I dont have any 4.4.2 SFB backup of my specific carrier because its Nextel, and doesnt even exist on the Motorola Firmware Page.
2.- Im on 4.4 (Retail Brasil) whit the modem of T-mobile (because when i flashed the Retail Brasil i lost all the signal).
3.- I readed that the XT1053 its for T-Mobile US, Dev Ed and i flashed a brasilian! Really im going crazy.
¿What would you do?...
1.- Flash the 4.4 of T-Mobile and stay there.
2.- ¿Flash another 4.4.2?

So don't flash any sbf , chances if you lose your signal you'll have an expensive coffee table ornament. Youre better off flashing kangakat ROM and stay away from flashing sbf firmware unless your carrier specific sbf firmware is available

Before of that i will do this (its my last try):
I will flash the T-Mobile 4.4, if everything works fine I will upgrade to 4.4.2 of the same company (I founded ).
But, if I flash 4.4 and I see something wrong I will stay there and use only customs.
So one las question : In theory... ¿can I change between 4.4 of x carrier to another 4.4 of x carrier?
