1. I dont have memory card reader in PC so dont ask me do to that okay?
2. should I do sth before installing new rom? of course HardSPL is done. But between installing 2 different roms? I used to copy the installation file Kovsimg.nbh on card and did standard prodecure- switch off the phone etc but I guess its a mistake isnt it?
thanks in advance

keep the card in your phone and connect to pc with usb cable in card reader mode.
Format card.
If still dont work you got a fake/pirate micro sd
How did you format it ?
On the official SD Association web site http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/ there is the following statement:
"SD or SDHC memory card file systems formatted with generic operating system formatting software do not comply with official SD memory card requirements and optimum performance may not be experienced."
The site also provide an SD card formatter program, fully compliant with SD Association specifications, but, unfortunately for you, it runs only on PC, so you need a card reader.
I had the same problem some time ago, with a 2GB full size SD formatted with my iPaq and recognized as 1GB, this tool fixed it.
If you connect your device to PC as a card reader, as stated above, it should work.
Go to Settings / Connections / USB to PC and choose Disk Drive. At least, my Xperia, and many HTC have this control panel.

i do every thing after this problem with my device changing rom install nand android and re install wp7 but non of them can detect memory card i do hard reset , task 29
is it soft wear problem or hard wear problem????
please help me urgent
So you are saying that you previously had WP7..So after changing ROM (windows 6.5 or Android) you need to format your card with Panasonic SD formater so it can read the full capacity of your card....BUT.....! You are saying that you did all this steps and still your device doesn't recognize your sd card and also you changed the card with a new one! HMMMMM......
Most probably a hardware problem (sd card holder and reader in the device)
Imo something went wrong with Installation or so! Dunno!
Some guys here said that WP7 will burn your card or something!
What SD cards did you use?
Anyone else that experienced this problem????

How can I get external sd card on galaxy S ?
If I call getExternalStorageDirectory() it points to Internal SD Card.
If I call
String state = Environment.getExternalStorageState();
if (Environment.MEDIA_MOUNTED.equals(state))
it returns true even I don't have external SD card inserted.
where is mounted in /sys/ ?
in /sys/class/mmc_host I can get only internal SD card.
Where is EXTERNAL sd card in Galaxy S ?
Thanks,
Regards, Ales
Any ideas ? Any ideas where I can find this ?
Regards, Ales
You are not making sense .
You want to get External SD card new one ??? or the one thats in the slot on your phone .
Lift of back of phone and SD card external is in the sd card slot towards the top of the phone .
jje
Sorry for my bad English.
I Know where in phone is SD card. I just want to know how to get it in Java (to get it it within my program SD Tools). I can get it with other phones, but I can't find it with Galaxy S. So how can I get SD Card in Java. From my program
?
Or where is mounted in Android (linux: sys/class/...? ) ?

hi guys for Android device developers :
Many many internal SD card issues happen to android phone. and i think will more and more in future , when internal SD card has error , why we need it to root system ? why we cannot put system files to external SD card that it like PC's hard disk. i think it's very usefully . so i hope anyone have this Ability can do it. when internal SD dead. we still can use phone with external SD card....
thanks and hope for your great work!!

I have a 32GB card in my note 2
I am getting a 64GB card. So All I need to do is
1. Format new card(FAT32?)
2.copy all files from old card to new card
3. Insert new card
Anything else I need to do?
Lot of my apps are installed on SD card (no special application, but using android built in move to SD card)
Yes
That all you need to do. Or at least that is all I have done for every SD upgrade that I have done, and I've had no problems.
steve:good:
I did the same, no issue. enjoy your bigger sd
Fat32 or extfat
fat32 is fine , always what i have done , also it 'd be best if you use this tool , google for it "sd formatter"
You cannot copy big files more than 4GB on Fat32 file system. You should use ExFat if you have such files.

I have no problem with native exFAT(I assume this is how the card will come formatted),
However, since I have certain APPS which are on SD card, will a standard copy all files and folders to new card approach work, or I am in for some headache?
Okay, I kept is exFAT, and then copied all files from 32GB card to 64GB card. Works like a dream!
Thanks for your help!
Apps on SD card also work fine
