Android TV ADT-1 Gamepad on PC - Google Chromecast

I received an ADT-1 dev kit a few days ago. It's awesome.
I can set the gamepad to pairing mode by holding BACK and HOME for a few seconds.
I can pair the gamepad to my windows 8.1 machine just fine, and it's recognized as a gamepad.
Where there's a problem is that the 2 analog joysticks are not recognized. Also the left hand side analog trigger button is recognized as an analog stick that can move in 360 degrees. And for some reason windows is calling the axes as Accelerator and Brake. It's as if it's being recognized as a game wheel.
Is there any way to make windows think it's an xbox controller??
Hopefully the screenshot will make it clear as to what's going on.

1 week bump

Any luck?
I am looking for same answer

Not sure what's up with your controller but mine paired perfectly with my laptop on XP and I didn't get that.
Try a different driver on it.

Any links?
Does anyone have any links for the driver ? I can't find one for win7 (64bit)

Same Issue
I'm still waiting for a solution :/

I was able to make this work by using ASUS Nexus Player gamepad drivers. Steps:
1. Search for and download nexus player gamepad drivers. Currently the download is available at https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Accessory/gamepad/AsusGamepad_4_0_0_9.zip but it might move
2. Extract zip and run setup.exe
3. Finish setup and restart windows
4. Pair the gamepad if not already paired
5. Go to control panel > view devices and printers and double click on the game controller
6. Go to the hardware tab of the properties window
7. There should be two HID-compliant game controller devices. Double click on one of them
8. Click change settings
9. Go to the details tab
10. Select the device instant path property
11. If the value ends in 0001 close the window and repeat from step 7 choosing the other HID-compliant device.
12. If the value ends in 0000 go to the driver tab
13. Click on update driver
14. Click on browser my computer for drivers
15. Click on let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
16. Unselect show compatible hardware
17. Select ASUS > ASUS Gamepad
18. Click yes on the update driver warning
19. Click close
20. You are done! There is a new "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" for which all the buttons are working

$5 for anyone who makes this simple program for me

Hey, I've got a 'ghetto' little in car computer system set up and it's a pain having to tap-tap on a 7 inch onscreen keyboard obviously not made for fingers. A full size keyboard just isn't practical in a car environment, however the Kaiser already has a very nice petite one built in.
If anyone can make me a program to send keystrokes FROM the phone TO the computer via USB or bluetooth (usb preferred) I'll paypal them $5, or whatever they see it worth. Thanks a lot!
Good Luck finding someone to do THAT much in depth programing for $5.
But Hey You could get a Sub Sammich!

It's not that much work... (although I'm not taking on any more projects at the moment).
You just need a RAPI Client/Server App coding that can pass the key strokes back and forth.

I'm confused if by car computer system you mean a legitimate computer in your car. If so, GRemote should do the trick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427097
you could also use mymobile. It mirrors the keystrokes to the computer or vice versa. not sure if this is what you need but thought I would throw it out there.
ill do it
and retire to oz on the payout..... all £3.28 @ todays exchange rate
It could be helpful. I plan to install a computer in my Nissan Xterra, ITX board and 7" touchscreen LCD. I have the ITX board and everything is ready to install but it's too much money to buy the touchscreen LCD. So instead I deside to break a laptop a part (Dell LH400 NON touchscreen 12") I plan to have the screen in the front somewhere and the board will be in the back and control the laptop with my tilt (w/USB cable or BT). It will be nice to have this kind of software on my tilt.
mayby it should have shortcut to to find application on the computer, like video, pix, gps software, players and more
Gremote
as haywiremonkey said Gremote works very well for that i use it all most every day, i use it over wifi but it says it works over bt also just never tried it. i found gremote in the touch pro software section of the forum.

I would like to apologize for the delay, we were down when you posted this question. Please try these steps as a potential solution to your problem:

Sixaxis Controller Touch Profile
First of all, capture a screenshot of your game.
Launch Sixaxis Controller application.
Press Menu button then select Preferences.
Select Touch Emulation – Configure touch emulation and manage profiles.
Select Edit Touch Profiles – Touch profiles allow you to map buttons to regions on the screen.
Note – Always double tap to bring up menu for selection.
Click on Change Background.
Select the game screenshot that you captured.
Rotate the image with Edit Background (if needed). Press back button when done.
You can start to map buttons with Add Button.
Like example above, I added ANALOG_LEFT, ANALOG_RIGHT, SQUARE AND START buttons.
Change Button Properties (if needed).
Select Save Profile then.
Pick a profile name that you prefer.
Then save it.
Press back button to exit.
Please let us know if this solved your problem.

How to permanently disable bluetooth Audio

On older Windows Mobile phones you could delete the codec for Audio and leave the one for phone. Maybe you could do this on older Android too, I can't remember.
Now it's just a Check Box to disable it.
Problem is, every time I start my car it gets re-enabled when it connects the phone. And sometimes will even start the music player on the phone. even when that source is not selected.
Car is 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 8.4AN Nav package.
It's Nav is no where as good as the Nav in the phone.
While this isn't an answer for bluetooth on the whole,
On the 8.4, go to the bluetooth settings, go to the second tab on the left for audio device, and disconnect there (while leaving the phone connected). As long as it has seen that once, I don't believe it attempts to reconnect it again unless you tell it to specifically.

good luck with this though
I'm not sure if this applies to HTC phones but on samsung ones you can longpress whichever pair device, select options, and uncheck media. This should disable music and should still alow phone calls to come thru

I think that's what the OP meant when they said:
"Now it's just a Check Box to disable it."
If not, that's entirely valid

Correct. I can disable it fine. Until the next time you start the car and it rechecks it.

MTP Connection Problems? - Solved

There have been a lot of problems with MTP for people with all different OS's and phone only being able to connect using Kies / Air / PTP. I too had the same problem. There was a lack of information on the internet for it. Well hopefully we can have a master list of fixes for other people having trouble because the S4 really seems to be a solid phone (I upgraded from a POS S2.)
Anyway here are a few threads to check out before checking out what my solution was.
Registry Fix - Does not apply to everyone - I did not have the UpperFilter Keys present.
Device Manager Fix
As for me, I stated I had a Galaxy S2 before. So I already had the Samsung S USB drivers. Yours could possibly be out of date. Mine was updated in April of 2013 which was the latest driver. You can find it here. Latest version at time of this post - 1.5.14.0
Samsung USB Driver 1.5.14.0 - XP/Win7/Win8
So let's get down to the fix.
Unplug phone if plugged in.
Remove Samsung USB Driver in add/remove programs. Just in case it became corrupted at some point.

}
Restart after removing.
Install latest Samsung USB Driver. Link Above.
Plug in phone and see if it connects and shows up under My Computer / Auto Play box pops up.
If it does, great, fixed for you. Most people that are experiencing this issue though, it will not be THAT simple. If not, continue.
Now hit WINDOWS KEY + R and in the run... box type devmgmt.msc to bring up the device manager.
In the screenshot you will see the SAMSUNG USB controller lited under USB devices with no Yellow !, this is when it is working normally.
What you may see is underneath the "System Devices" menu and above the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" menu, you may see the Samsung USB menu there.
Expand it
Right click
Properties
Driver tab and click Update Driver.
When next menu comes up, click "Search automatically for updated driver software" so it searches the internet for the latest driver. Should go out and find the correct driver and install it. Device should now pop up through MTP. Good luck!

[Q] how to use BackgroundAudioPlayer in WP8.1 SilverLight

Hi everyone I tried to use BackgroundAudioPlayer many times on WP8.1 Silverlight but couldn't be played anything
Now I started searching about what's going wrong I found tht :
The AudioPlayerAgent and AudioStreamingAgent classes, which supported background audio playback for Windows Phone 8 apps, are not supported in Silverlight 8.1. If you want to support background audio playback, you can continue to use a Windows Phone 8 app or create a Windows Phone Store app, which supports new background audio APIs.

What is the solution or other way to run same thing as BackgroundAudioPlayer in 8.1 silverlight ?
Are you expecting us to tell you something other than what's already in the quoted blob?
Option 1) Use Silverlight for 8.0, not 8.1
Option 2) Make a Windows Phone Store app and use the new background audio APIs (first search response for "Windows Phone Store" background audio

Is it possible with any other ways except MediaPlayer Class and BackgroundAudioPlayer ?
Thank you GoodDayToDie
Hmm, not sure how to cause that control to display on the screen programmatically. It's easy to make the app update it and get events from button presses on it, though. Check out http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...ndows.media.systemmediatransportcontrols.aspx (linked from the page I linked before).
